Description
- This invention relates generally to a wearable holder for supporting paper and other light objects and more particularly a holder, which can be secured on cloth by a magnet and which accepts and displays promotional material in card form such as a business card.
- Generally, business cards serve to identify persons and/or business enterprises, and the occupation, profession, or trade of such person or the particular business activity of the business enterprise. Consequently, business cards are capable of being used as an advertisement instrumentality since they effectively bring to the immediate attention of anyone reading a particular card of the availability for hire or employment of the identified individual or business enterprise to perform certain services for hire. Obviously, the potential volume of business or employment and the monetary return that can be generated by a business card functioning simply as an advertisement instrumentality is directly related to the number of persons who are made aware of the card and actually read the same. The more persons viewing a particular business card, the greater the potential for increasing the business activities of the business card owner will be.
- In practice, when business people go to a meeting or a trade conference, they need to bring many business cards with them. Normally, people put these business cards in their suit pocket or business cases and they need to find them and take them out quickly when they meet other business people or their potential clients or customers. This is not always quick and is certainly not convenient enough. If there is a business card holder which can be attached to clothes such as jacket, shirt, suit or the like, such wearable business card holder would help the business card owner easily find the card and take it out quickly. On the other hand, other business people or potential clients would directly recognize the business card owner through such transparent or see-through holder on chest. However, attaching such holder to cloth normally causes damage to the cloth such as holes if using pins or similar locking devices.
- A number of magnetic card holders have been developed to secure photographs or advertisements to a magnet attracting surface such as a refrigerator, cabinet or the like. However, none of them could be used in clothes without any damage.
- The present invention is to provide a magnetic display device for magnetically attaching the device to any clothes people wear such as a suit, shirt, jacket, or the like.
- The present invention relates generally to a wearable holder with a magnetic secure mechanism, and more particularly to a business card holder with the ability to flexibly attach to suitable locations of the clothes which people wear for displaying purposes.
- Such business card holder comprises of two parts: the card-holding pocket with a lid and a removable magnet. These two parts will be placed or located in a suitable location of a shirt, blouse, suit, or jacket, with the card-holding pocket outside the cloth and the removable magnet inside the cloth to secure the outside card-holding pocket.
- The said card-holding pocket is made from plastic (including nylon), leather, cotton (including denim), rubber or flexible durable materials. The card-holding pocket and its lid are made from one material as a one-body unit; the lid can be closed to cover the card-holding pocket with any conventional means in the front surface of the card-holding pocket. If the card-holding pocket with its lid is made from plastic, such business card holder could be transparent. Also, the said card-holding pocket is made for holding business cards with a rectangular shape and with a size suitable to hold a typical sized business card. Moreover, the said card-holding pocket with its lid can be made in any different color. More importantly, a small and thin ferrous metal plate is mounted or imbedded in the rear surface of the card-holding pocket, which is used to be attracted by the said removable magnet inside the cloth.
- The said removable magnet part is made from any conventional magnet, which has enough magnetic power to hold or secure the card-holding pocket part. It could be a thin magnet bar or a thin magnet plate with the shape and size matching the ferrous metal plate mounted or imbedded in the rear surface of the card-holding pocket.
- Such wearable magnetic business card holder has the following advantages:
-
- 1. Wearable on clothes including but not limited to jacket, shirt, blouse, suit, etc;
- 2. Can be worn on any location on the outside of a person's clothes;
- 3. Card-holding pocket can be made of any fabric including but not limited to leather, cotton, plastic, rubber, flexible durable materials;
- 4. Transparent or see-through pocket;
- 5. Logos can be printed on the front surface of the card-holding pocket;
- 6. Standard business card size;
- 7. No pin and no holes in clothes;
- 8. Portable, flexible, and removable with magnets;
- 9. Does not require the use of an adhesive material for mounting the holder, therefore there will be no stain on the clothes;
- 10. Light weight and inexpensive to manufacture;
- 11. Personalized and unisex;
- 12. Easy to find your business cards;
- 13. Ability to quickly obtain your business cards;
- 14. With the use of a transparent or see-through pocket, others will be able to easily see the owner's business cards;
- 15. The card holder with its lid keeps the card clean and unmarked at all times; and
- 16. Such an attractive display device suitable for use with advertisements, photographs, business cards, and the like.
- In summary, the present invention provides a novel, handy and wearable business card holder, which is inexpensive and easy to manufacture. It also solves a persistent problem keeping the business card holder portable and flexible without damaging the surface it is attached on. Such business card holder is also convenient for the business card owner and also attractive to other business people.
- Although the wearable magnetic business card holder and the method of using the same according to the present invention has been described in the foregoing specification with considerable details, it is to be understood that modifications may be made to the invention which do not exceed the scope of the appended claims and modified forms of the present invention done by others skilled in the art to which the invention pertains will be considered infringements of this invention when those modified forms fall within the claimed scope of this invention.
