Abstract
An adjustable and replaceable scraper includes a handle, an extender movably mounted in the handle, a replaceable blade mounted on the extender. The extender is able to move relative to the handle for adjusting a distance relative to the handle. The replaceable blade is able to be replaced.
Description
- This application is a Continuation-in-part Application of Ser. No. 11/556,036, filed 14 Jan. 2011, and entitled “ADJUSTABLE SCRAPER”, now pending.
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a scraper, and more particularly to an adjustable and replaceable scraper.
- 2. Description of Related Art
- A conventional scraper has a scarping blade extending form a front thereof. However, the conventional scraper is discarded when the scraping blade is consumed. It is inconvenient and wasted.
- Another conventional scraper has a replaceable blade. When the blade is consumed, the blade can be replaced to a new one. However, the connection between the blade and the conventional scraper is weak. Therefore, the conventional scraper is easily broken.
- The present invention has arisen to mitigate and/or obviate the disadvantages of the conventional scraper.
- The main objective of the present invention is to provide an improved scraper, and more particular to an adjustable and replaceable scraper.
- To achieve the objective, the adjustable and replaceable scraper in accordance with the present invention includes a handle, an extender movably mounted in the handle, a replaceable blade mounted on the extender. The handle has an elongated slot defined therein and extending along an axis thereof. The handle has a through hole defined in a top side thereof and extending through a bottom side thereof. The through hole is communicated with the elongated slot. The extender is movably inserted into the elongated slot in the handle. The extender has a body and a head extending from the body. The body has multiple positioning holes defined therein and passing therethrough. The body has a groove defined therein and passing therethrough. The groove is disposed along a length of the body and communicated with the positioning holes. Each positioning hole has a diameter greater than a width of the groove. The head of the extender has a width grater than that of the body. The head has two blockers respectively extending from two laterals thereof. The head has a screw hole defined therein and passing therethrough. A holder is mounted on the head of the extender. The holder has a body and a head extending from the body. The head of the holder corresponds to the head of the extender such that a width of the head of the holder is equal to that of the head of the extender. The head of the holder is confined by the two blockers of the extender for preventing the head of the holder sliding relative to the extender. The replaceable blade is sandwiched between the head of the extender and the head of the holder. The replaceable blade is also confined by two blockers for preventing the replaceable blade sliding relative to the extender. A screw passes through the head of the holder, the replaceable blade, and screws into the screw hole in the head of the extender. A button is mounted on the top side of the handle and partially passes through the through hole. The button has a rod extending therefrom. The rod has a diameter substantially equal to the width of the groove. A spring is compressively received in through hole and passed by the rod. A stopper is mounted on the bottom side of the handle. The stopper has a tube extending therefrom for partially receiving the rod of the button. The stopper has a shoulder annularly disposed on the tube for selectively engaging with the positioning holes. The shoulder has a diameter substantially equal to that of each positioning hole.
- Further benefits and advantages of the present invention will become apparent after a careful reading of the detailed description with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.
-
FIG. 1 is an exploded perspective view of an adjustable and replaceable scraper in accordance with the present invention; -
FIG. 2 is an assembled perspective view of the adjustable and replaceable scraper in accordance with the present invention; -
FIGS. 3-4 are operational views of the adjustable and replaceable scraper in accordance with the present invention; -
FIG. 5 is a top plan view of the of the adjustable and replaceable scraper in accordance with the present invention without a replaceable blade; and -
FIGS. 6-7 are enlarged operational views of the adjustable and replaceable scraper in accordance with the present invention for showing a shoulder engaging/disengaging with a positioning hole. - Referring to the drawings and initially to
FIGS. 1-7 , an adjustable and replaceable scraper in accordance with the present invention comprises ahandle 10, anextender 24 movably mounted in thehandle 10, areplaceable blade 30 mounted on theextender 24. - The
handle 10 has anelongated slot 120 defined therein and extending along an axis thereof. Thehandle 10 has a throughhole 122 defined in a top side thereof and extending through a bottom side thereof. The throughhole 122 is communicated with theelongated slot 120. - The
extender 24 is movably inserted into theelongated slot 120 in thehandle 10. Theextender 24 has abody 242 and ahead 241 extending from thebody 242. Thebody 242 hasmultiple positioning holes 244 defined therein and passing therethrough. Thebody 242 has agroove 243 defined therein and passing therethrough. Thegroove 243 is disposed along a length of thebody 242 and communicated with thepositioning holes 244. Eachpositioning hole 244 has a diameter greater than a width of thegroove 243. Thehead 241 of theextender 24 has a width grater than that of thebody 242. Thehead 241 has twoblockers 25 respectively extending from two laterals thereof. Thehead 241 has ascrew hole 27 defined therein and passing therethrough. - A
holder 22 is mounted on thehead 241 of theextender 24. Theholder 22 has abody 222 and ahead 221 extending from thebody 222. Thehead 221 of theholder 22 corresponds to thehead 241 of theextender 24 such that a width of thehead 221 of theholder 22 is equal to that of thehead 241 of theextender 24. Thehead 221 of theholder 22 is confined by the twoblockers 25 of theextender 24 for preventing thehead 221 of theholder 22 sliding relative to theextender 24. Thereplaceable blade 30 is sandwiched between thehead 241 of theextender 24 and thehead 221 of theholder 22. Thereplaceable blade 30 is also confined by twoblockers 25 for preventing thereplaceable blade 30 sliding relative to theextender 24. Ascrew 28 passes through thehead 221 of theholder 22, thereplaceable blade 30, and screws into thescrew hole 27 in thehead 241 of theextender 24. - A
button 124 is mounted on the top side of thehandle 10 and partially passes through the throughhole 122. Thebutton 124 has arod 125 extending therefrom. Therod 125 has a diameter substantially equal to the width of thegroove 243. Aspring 126 is compressively received in throughhole 122 and passed by therod 125. - A
stopper 128 is mounted on the bottom side of thehandle 10. Thestopper 128 has atube 129 extending therefrom for partially receiving therod 125 of thebutton 124. Thestopper 128 has ashoulder 127 annularly disposed on thetube 129 for selectively engaging with the positioning holes 244. Theshoulder 127 has a diameter substantially equal to that of eachpositioning hole 244. - Referring to
FIGS. 3-7 , thereplaceable blade 30 is fixed between theholder 22 and theextender 24. When thereplaceable blade 30 is consumed, the originalreplaceable blade 30 can be easily replaced to a new one. When theshoulder 127 of thestopper 128 is engaged with one of the positioning holes 244, theextender 24 is fixed in thehandle 10. When thebutton 124 is pressed and thespring 126 is compressed, theshoulder 127 is disengaged from thepositioning hole 244 and therod 125 of thebutton 124 is disposed in thegroove 243, such that therod 125 is able to slide in thegroove 243 and theextender 24 is able to adjust a distance relative thehandle 10. When therod 125 is move in anotherpositioning hole 244 and thebutton 124 is released, thespring 126 pushes thebutton 124 back and theshoulder 127 is engaged with anotherpositioning hole 244 for fixing theextender 24 relative to thehandle 10. - Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
