Abstract
A method of playing a Press soccer game on a field having a width of between 80 yards more or less for adult players to 60 yards more or less for children ten or younger. The field has touch lines that extend from a first goal arch line to a second goal arch line where the touch lines have a length of between 100 yards more or less for adults to 60 yards more or less for children ten or younger. The field has a goal zone area and a penalty arch line. One of the rules of play provides that a goal made without touching any other offensive player will count as two points when made from a goal zone area, three points when made within the penalty arch line, and four points when made from beyond the penalty arch line.

B = Distance from off site zone line to end of touch line Note 1: (R) to exponent of 2 = (W/2) to exponent of 2 + (L/2) to exponent of 2 - The Goal system of conventional soccer is changed to a point system:
- A goal made without touching any other offensive player depends on its location and will count as follow:
- Goal made from goal zone area counts for 2 points.
- Goal made within penalty arch line counts for 3 points.
- Goals made beyond penalty arch line counts for 4 points.
- A goal made in the above zones with offensive player heading the ball to the goal without touching an offensive player will get an additional point in their respective zone.
- Example: Goal made by heading the ball to goal within goal zone will counts for 3 points.
- A soccer match will be played in four quarters where each quarter will have a duration of 20 minutes. The time stops any time the ball is not in motion. A 5 minute break will be followed after each quarter and a 10 minutes break at the half time.
- A foul committed by defensive player in the defense goal zone:
- The offense will be rewarded a free kick. The ball will be placed on the goal zone arch line by offense without any defensive player between kicker and goal keeper. The defensive and offensive players must remain beyond goal zone arch. Once the ball is in motion by the kicker, the defensive players can enter the goal zone to protect the goal. A goal made by free kick will count for 1 point.
- A foul committed by defensive player in the defense penalty zone:
- A kick will be rewarded to the offense. The ball will be placed where the foul was committed. Defensive players (Sweepers) must remain inside the goal zone area. Only offense players (Attackers) are allowed in the penalty or goal zone area. A goal made by direct kick without touching other offensive players will counts for 2 points. All other players must remain beyond the penalty zone arch.
- A foul committed beyond penalty zone arch but within offsite zone area:
- The offense will be rewarded a kick. The ball will be placed where the foul was committed. Defensive players who are allowed into penalty zone arch area are allowed in the penalty zone area. A goal made by direct kick without touching another offensive player (Attackers) will counts for 3 points.
- A foul committed beyond offsite zone:
- The ball will be placed where the foul took place. Defensive players must observe a 5 yard clearance from the location of the ball prior to a kick. The kick can be a direct or an indirect kick.
- In the above penalty situations and corner kick, no off site penalty should be called.
- When a ball in its entirety passes the inter-side of the touch lines. The opposing team will kick the ball in at the location where ball exit the field. Defense will observe approximately 5 yard clearance.
- An out of bound ball between a corner of the field and the goal poles by defense will result in a corner kick. A goal made by a corner kick without touching any other offensive player will counts for 3 points. In the event of a corner kick play only the attackers and sweepers who are allowed in the penalty zone can remain in the penalty zone.
- Out of bound ball between corner and the goal poles by offense:
- The ball will be put in motion by goal keeper either by hand or by punting within the goal zone to a team-mate within the offside zone. If the ball passes the offside line without being touched by offense, the defense will automatically possess the ball once past the offside line.
- Each team will have a total of 25 players for match
- Each team will have one goal keeper and 10 players on the field. All other players will remain on the bench (substitutes).
- A minimum of 9 players must be present in a major league game in order to proceed with the game. The opposing team can continue with 11 players.
- If one team does not meet the required minimum players, then the referee must call off the game in favor of opposing team. The winning team will be reworded 3 points.
- A team can replace as many players as is deemed necessary at a quarter or half time break.
- An injured player can be replaced during any quarter with the permission of the referee.
- Players are organized into three groups. Number of players in each group will be at the coaches' discretion. The groups are as follow:
- These players play on their half of the field and do not pass the center line toward the opposing team.
- These players can only play between penalty zones. Midfielders do not enter the penalty zone under any circumstances.
- These players can only play at the opposing half of the field without passing the center line toward their own field. The attackers are the only players that can be in a penalty zone area.
- A team can have 3 sweepers, 3 midfielders, and 4 attackers in one quarter and it is called 3, 3, 4. The next quarter the coach can change to 4 sweepers, 4 midfielders, and 2 attackers and it is
call 4, 4, 2. - In order to distinguish and monitor players not to violate their respected area the players must wear distinctive soaks as follow.
- Sweepers and opposing team attackers will wear soaks having a 6″ high black band above their ankles.
- Midfielders will wear their uniform.
- Attackers and the opposing team Sweepers will wear a 6″ high white band above their ankle.
- A foul is called when a player violates a respected area. The opposing team will kick the ball at the location of the foul.
- Example: If violation took place in the penalty zone area the opposing team will get to kick either directly or indirectly.
- Teams will flip a coin for selection of the field. The team who wins the coin flip will get to choose the field and the opposing team will get the ball.
- To start the game the goalkeeper will kick or pass the ball to his team mates within offsite zone. If the ball passes the offsite line without being touched by offense, the ball will be reworded to opposing team at the location of the violation.
- The offense cannot retract the ball once is passes the offside zone or center line toward to opposing team. The opposing team will possess the ball at the location of the violation.
- The teams will change side at the beginning of each quarter.
- When the game remains tie upon expiration of regulation, the game continues as follow:
- Two five minutes halves will be played. The game takes place in the offside zone area of respected teams. Each team must select 4 players plus a goalkeeper. The teams will flip a coin for possession of the ball. The game will take place within the offside zone area of the defensive team for five minutes. During this period any time the ball is out of bounds, whether by offense or defense, it will result in an inbound at that location by the offense. When the ball is inbounded, the defense will remain in the penalty zone area. If the ball crossed the goal arch by either team it will result in a corner kick by the offense. Second over time will be played if the game remains tie at the end of the first overtime.
- Each team will select two players and a goal keeper. The game will be played in the penalty zone area for 3 minutes in the same manner as the first overtime.
- Each team will get a direct kick at the Goal zone arch and take turns until one team exceed the other team in kick off.
- While there have been shown and described and pointed out the fundamental novel features of the invention as applied to the preferred embodiments, it will be understood that various omissions and substitutions and changes of the form and details of the apparatus illustrated and in the operation may be done by those skilled in the art, without departing from the spirit of the invention.
