Abstract
A tool and tool holder assembly includes a tool and a tool holder. The tool has an enlarged portion and a neck portion adjacent to the enlarged portion. The tool holder includes a hollow sleeve. The sleeve has a receiving opening, two side openings, and two elastic arms extended from one end of each side opening. Each elastic arm has a pushing surface and a retaining surface. When the tool passes the receiving opening, the enlarged portion abuts against the pushing surface such that the elastic arm expands. When the neck portion abuts against the retaining surface, the at least one elastic arm retracts to firmly secure the tool.
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a hand tool, and more particularly to a tool and tool holder assembly.
- 2. Description of Related Art
- A conventional tool holder in accordance with the prior art comprises a frame formed from a closed wire loop which includes a tool insertion portion having spaced side rail members connected by an arcuate end bar. An attachment portion of the frame has spaced attachment rail members each connected by a ninety degree bend with one of said side rail members. A clip portion of the frame includes a pair of spaced clip members connected by an arcuate connecting bar, with each of clip members connected by a 180 degree bend with one of the attachment rail members to form a resilient frictional clip for securement to an article of apparel of an individual. A variety of different removable receptacles are disclosed for removable securement in the tool insertion portion of the frame. The various receptacles may be utilized to carry small articles, scissors, and a variety of other tools. The tool holder frame is dimensioned to receive a conventional hammer with the receptacle removed from the tool insertion portion.
- When user carries the conventional tool holder with tool, the tool holder may swing such that the tool falls out incidentally. The conventional tool holder secures to the apparel of user unfirmly such that the tool holder with the tool falls out. It is dangerous for user to carry the conventional tool holder.
- The present invention has arisen to mitigate and/or obviate the disadvantages of the conventional tool holder.
- The main objective of the present invention is to provide an improved tool and tool holder assembly, in that a tool and tool holder assembly with a clamping effort is acquired.
- To achieve the objective, the tool and tool holder assembly includes a tool and a tool holder detachably connected to the tool. The tool has an enlarged portion and a neck portion adjacent to the enlarged portion. The tool holder includes a sleeve which is hollow. The sleeve has a receiving opening defined in one end thereof for receiving the tool. The sleeve has at least one side opening defined in a lateral thereof and at least one elastic aim extended from one end of the at least one side opening. The at least one elastic aim has a pushing surface and a retaining surface formed therein. When the tool passes the receiving opening, the enlarged portion abuts against the pushing surface such that the at least one elastic arm expands. When the neck portion abuts against the retaining surface, the at least one elastic arm retracts to firmly secure the tool.
- Further benefits and advantages of the present invention will become apparent after a careful reading of the detailed description with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.
-
FIG. 1 is an exploded perspective view of a tool and tool holder assembly in accordance with the present invention; -
FIG. 2 is a partial cross-sectional front elevation view of the tool and tool holder assembly, showing that the enlarged portion abuts against the retaining surface; -
FIG. 3 is a partial cross-sectional front elevation view of the tool and tool holder assembly, showing that the neck portion abuts against the retaining surface; -
FIG. 4 is an assembled perspective view of the tool and tool holder assembly in accordance with the present invention; -
FIG. 5 is a rear elevation view of the tool and tool holder assembly, showing the hook pivotally rotates relative to the sleeve; -
FIG. 6 is a side plane view of the tool and tool holder assembly, showing the hook is hanged on the wall; -
FIG. 7 is a side plane view of the tool and tool holder assembly, showing the hook is secured to the waist band; and -
FIG. 8 is an exploded perspective view of a second embodiment of the tool and tool holder assembly in accordance with the present invention. - Referring to the drawings and initially to
FIGS. 1-4 , a tool and tool holder assembly in accordance with the present invention comprises atool holder 1 and atool 2 detachably connected to thetool holder 1. - The
tool 2 has adriving shank 3 extended therefrom and ahandle 4 extended therefrom and opposite to thedriving shank 3. Thehandle 4 is in a T-shape. Thehandle 4 has an enlargedportion 21 formed therein and adjacent to thedriving shank 3. Thehandle 4 has aneck portion 22 formed therein and adjacent to the enlargedportion 21. The enlargedportion 21 is formed in the shape of a convex camber. Theneck portion 22 is formed in the shape of a concave camber. - The
tool holder 1 includes asleeve 11 and ahook 12 pivotally connected to thesleeve 11. Thesleeve 11 is in a shape of cylinder and hollow inside. Thehook 12 is disposed in a lateral of thesleeve 11. Thehook 12 has ahanging hole 121 defined therein for being hanged on the wall or secured to a waist band. - The
sleeve 11 has a receivingopening 111 defined in one end thereof for receiving thehandle 4 of thetool 2 and apassing opening 112 defined in the other end thereof for passing thedriving shank 3 of thetool 2. Thepassing opening 112 is communicated with thereceiving opening 111. Thesleeve 11 has at least one side opening 113 defined in the lateral thereof and at least oneelastic arm 114 extended from one end of the at least one side opening 113. In the preferred embodiment, thesleeve 11 has twoside openings 113 defined in the lateral thereof and twoelastic arms 114, eachelastic arm 114 extended from one end of each side opening 113. Each side opening 113 is extended through thesleeve 11. Eachelastic arm 114 has afree end 1141 for providing a resilient force. Eachelastic arm 114 has a pushingsurface 1142 formed therein and adjacent to thefree end 1141. Eachelastic arm 114 has aretaining surface 1143 formed therein and adjacent to the pushingsurface 1142. The pushingsurface 1142 and theretaining surface 1143 are convex cambered surfaces. Thesleeve 11 has a receivingend 115 defined in one end thereof and adjacent to the receivingopening 111. The receivingend 115 is flared outwardly for smoothly passing thedriving shank 3 and preventing the drivingshank 3 from blocking by thereceiving end 115. - When the
tool 2 assembles with thetool holder 1, thedriving shank 3 passes thereceiving opening 111. The enlargedportion 21 pushes the pushingsurface 1142 such that theelastic arm 114 expands outwardly as shown inFIG. 2 . When pushing thetool 2 inwardly, theneck portion 22 abuts against theretaining surface 1143 such that theelastic arm 114 retracts and firmly secures thehandle 4 as shown inFIG. 3 . Therefore, thetool 2 is clamped by thetool holder 1 to prevent thetool 2 from falling out. - Referring to
FIGS. 5 and 6 , thehook 12 pivotally rotates relative to thesleeve 11. Anail 51 passes through thehanging hole 121 such that thetool holder 1 with thetool 2 is hanged on awall 5. - Referring to
FIG. 7 , thehook 12 is secured to awaist band 6. User can carry thetool holder 1 with thetool 2. - Referring to
FIG. 8 , a second embodiment of the tool and tool holder assembly in accordance with the present invention is illustrated. The elements and the efforts which are the same with the first embodiment are not described, only the differences are described. Thehandle 4 is in a shape of cylinder. Thehandle 4 has anenlarged portion 21 formed therein and adjacent to the drivingshank 3. Thehandle 4 has aneck portion 22 formed therein and adjacent to theenlarged portion 21. Theenlarged portion 21 has a convex camber. Theneck portion 22 has a concave camber. - Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
