Description

    FIELD OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to tools and more particularly to a tool which may be worn on a tool belt which may hold at least two tools simultaneously.
  • BACKGROUND
  • Tools and tool belts are popular items because they give the user flexibility when working on a particular project. Predicting the precise tools required for a project is very difficult, and the user must carry a number of commonly used tools in order to avoid returning to a truck or house for additional tools.
  • Different size and shapes tools require different types of tool holding devices.
  • Furthermore, some tools may have a long handle which may tend to restrict the movement of the user as the user walks to and from the job.
  • U.S. Pat. No. 4,638,530 discloses a tool carrier for suspending a hammer from a person's belt. The head of the hammer is supported on a cradle which generally lies in a plane of the person's hand when his arm is relaxed at his side, and the handle of the hammer extends downwardly through an opening in the cradle. The carrier can be readily attached to the belt by sliding a mounting element upwardly behind the belt, then downwardly, so that the belt can be received into a retention slot. A reverse procedure is followed to remove the carrier from the belt. The carrier can be molded or formed out of sheet material or from wire stock.
  • U.S. Pat. No. 6,880,794 discloses a universal tool holder for carrying a tool or other article, for example, a cordless drill, nail gun, hammer or shovel is provided comprising a stretchable cord that is formed into a looped end and adapted to be wrapped about the handle of a tool in such a manner that it tightly engages the tool, and a second end having a retainable object, such as a ball, that is configured to be safely and securely held within a retaining receiver. The retaining receiver is in the form of a socket-type receiver configured to correspond to the geometrical shape of the retainable object such it can removably secure the retainable object. The socket-shaped retaining receiver can be incorporated into a variety of articles use full in carrying and storing tools, including a belt clip, a wall mounting implement or a ladder mounting implement. By integrating the retaining receiver into such a variety of articles, any tool carried by the universal tool holder can be removably secured to the retaining receiver, thereby enabling a user to suspend the tool from a belt clip, ladder or wall.
  • U.S. Pat. No. 5,915,610 discloses a carpenter's tool holder to be supported from a wearer's waist belt and including a pocket for supporting and containing therein a tape rule device and a retention member connected within the pocket for interlocking engagement with the spring clip member attached to the rear surface of the tape rule device for preventing unintentioned dislodgment of the tape rule device from the pocket. A second embodiment includes below the pocket an elongated hanger member pivotally connected to the tool holder for supporting and containing a hammer and wherein the elongated hanger member has at its free end a tool loop defining therein an opening through which the handle of the hammer is inserted.
  • U.S. Pat. No. 5,743,451 discloses a tool-toting device facilitating the carrying and retention by a workman of a hand tool having a clip for attaching the device to a belt such as a workman's tool-belt. A rigid hook depends through fastening means from the clip and has the ability to swivel as the workman moves to maintain the center of gravity of a tool attached to the hook. Rigidity of the hook ensures that the workman will be able to replace the tool onto the toting device or to remove it therefrom singlehandedly. Further, the hook is rotatably positionable to permit the workman to position his tool in a comfortable fashion.
