Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a hair styling device, and more particularly to a hair styling device including a number of ratchet comb teeth for engaging with the hair of the user and for stably attaching the hair styling device onto the hair of the user and for allowing the hair styling device to be suitably shielded or covered within the hair of the user without additional clipping or clasping or clamping devices.
- 2. Description of the Prior Art
- Typical hair styling devices, such as hair clasps, hair clips, hair barrettes comprise two pivotal members pivotally coupled together with a pivot axle or hinge, and a number of comb teeth extended outwardly from one of the pivotal members for engaging with the hair of the user and for attaching the hair styling device onto the hair of the user.
- For example, U.S. Pat. No. 2,661,748 to Rocho, U.S. Pat. No. 2,767,721 to Cockley, U.S. Pat. No. 2,897,725 to Wagner, U.S. Pat. No. 2,921,589 to Blomme, and U.S. Pat. No. 3,324,864 to Triangolo disclose five of the typical hair barrettes or hair clasps or hair clips each comprising a base member and a clamping member hingedly attached or pivotally coupled together for engaging with the hair of the user.
- However, the hingedly or pivotally coupled base member and clamping member of the typical hair barrettes or hair clasps or hair clips may only be used to clasp or clamp the hair of the user, but may not be used to shape the hair of the user.
- The present invention has arisen to mitigate and/or obviate the afore-described disadvantages of the conventional hair styling devices.
- The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a hair styling device including a number of ratchet comb teeth for engaging with the hair of the user and for stably attaching the hair styling device onto the hair of the user and for allowing the hair styling device to be suitably shielded or covered within the hair of the user without additional clipping or clasping or clamping devices.
- The other objective of the present invention is to provide a hair styling device including a spatial configuration for shaping the hair of the user.
- In accordance with one aspect of the invention, there is provided a hair styling device comprising a hair styling member including a curved upper portion having a number of extensions extended outwardly therefrom, and including at least one ratchet tooth provided on each of the extensions for engaging with user's hair and for anchoring the hair styling member onto the hair of the user.
- The hair styling member includes a number of comb teeth provided thereon. The hair styling member includes a curved lower portion having the comb teeth extended from the curved lower portion for detachably anchoring the hair styling member onto the hair of the user.
- The hair styling member includes a number of reinforcing ribs formed therein, or the hair styling member includes a number of openings formed between the curved upper portion and the curved lower portion of the hair styling member. The comb teeth are preferably perpendicular to the extensions.
- Further objectives and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from a careful reading of the detailed description provided hereinbelow, with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.
-
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a hair styling device in accordance with the present invention; -
FIG. 2 is a side plan schematic view of the hair styling device; -
FIG. 3 is a top plan schematic view of the hair styling device; -
FIG. 4 is an enlarged partial plan schematic view of the hair styling device; -
FIG. 5 is a side plan schematic view similar toFIG. 2 , illustrating the other arrangement of the hair styling device; -
FIG. 6 is an enlarged partial plan schematic view of the hair styling device as shown inFIG. 5 ; and -
FIGS. 7 , 8, 9, 10 are perspective views illustrating the operation of the hair styling device. - Referring to the drawings, and initially to
FIGS. 1-4 , ahair styling device 1 in accordance with the present invention comprises a hair styling body ormember 10 having a spatial structure or configuration, and having an upper curved surface orportion 11 and a lower curved surface orportion 12, in which bothcurved portions curved portion 11 includes a greater curvature than that of the lowercurved portion 12, or the uppercurved portion 11 includes a radius “r” smaller than the radius “R” of the lowercurved portion 12, best shown inFIG. 2 . It is preferable that the curvature of the lowercurved portion 12 is arranged or designed to be closer to the curvature of thehead 8 of the user (FIGS. 7-10 ) for suitably or stably attaching or engaging onto thehead 8 of the user. - The hair styling body or
member 10 includes a number of protrusions orextensions extensions curved portion 11 and perpendicular to the uppercurved portion 11, in which the two rows of protrusions orextensions side edges 15 of the uppercurved portion 11 and are parallel to each other, and theextensions more ratchet teeth 16 extended or formed or provided on each of theextensions hair 80 of the user (FIGS. 7-10 ) and for stably attaching or anchoring thehair styling device 1 onto thehair 80 of the user and for allowing thehair styling device 1 to be suitably shielded or covered within thehair 80 of the user. - For example, as shown in
FIGS. 1 , 2 and 4, theratchet teeth 16 of theextensions FIGS. 5 and 6 , theextensions 131 may include the other shapes or configuration, such as curved structure for engaging with thehair 80 of the user and for stably attaching or anchoring thehair styling device 1 onto thehair 80 of the user. Thehair styling member 10 further includes a number ofcomb teeth curved portion 12, and arranged perpendicular to theextensions comb teeth 17 are extended laterally or forwardly from the lowercurved portion 12, and theother comb teeth 18 are extended laterally or rearwardly from the lowercurved portion 12 for engaging with thehair 80 of the user and for further stably attaching or anchoring thehair styling device 1 onto thehair 80 of the user. - It is preferable that the
hair styling member 10 of thehair styling device 1 is formed or made or manufactured with a molding or mold injection procedures including a number of reinforcingribs 19 formed therein or provided therein for forming a number of orifices oropenings 20 in thehair styling member 10, or between the uppercurved portion 11 and the lowercurved portion 12 and/or between the reinforcingribs 19 for forming a weight reduced structure and for allowing thehair styling device 1 to be suitably or easily and quickly made or manufactured. - In operation, as shown in
FIGS. 7-10 , anupper portion 81 of thehair 80 of the user may be lifted or moved upwardly away from thehead 8 of the user, and thehair styling member 10 of thehair styling device 1 may then be attached onto thehead 8 of the user and engaged or disposed between theupper portion 81 and thelower portion 82 of thehair 80 of the user, thehair styling member 10 may then be moved forwardly and/or rearwardly relative to thelower portion 82 of thehair 80 of the user in order to engage thecomb teeth lower portion 82 of thehair 80 of the user and so as to stably attach or anchor thehair styling member 10 of thehair styling device 1 onto thelower portion 82 of thehair 80 of the user. - After the
hair styling member 10 has been stably attached or anchored onto thelower portion 82 of thehair 80 of the user, theupper portion 81 of thehair 80 of the user may then be released and engaged onto thehair styling member 10 and may be engaged or extended through the spaces or gaps between theextensions extensions ratchet teeth 16 of theextensions hair styling member 10 of thehair styling device 1 to be further stably attached or anchored and positioned onto thehair 80 of the user and to be suitably shielded or covered within thehair 80 of the user, and the spatialhair styling member 10 may be used for suitably shaping the hair of the user, best shown inFIGS. 9 and 10 . - Accordingly, the hair styling device in accordance with the present invention includes a number of ratchet comb teeth for engaging with the hair of the user and for stably attaching the hair styling device onto the hair of the user and for allowing the hair styling device to be suitably shielded or covered within the hair of the user without additional clipping or clasping or clamping devices.
- Although this invention has been described with a certain degree of particularity, it is to be understood that the present disclosure has been made by way of example only and that numerous changes in the detailed construction and the combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
