Abstract

“CHAIRS/BENCHES AND TOILET BASIN FOR SEAT BATH, FOR THERAPEUTICAL PURPOSES”, comprising edge (4) conforming in such manner that form a slightly inclined seat (3), oriented to a central receptacle (5) which receives a suitable volume of water or hydric solution, and such conformation, being in chairs/benches (1) and (1 a) or in the base (2) for toilet basin, provides total comfort to the user to sit down and accommodate the genital region, which remains perfectly immersed in the water contained in the receptacle (5), in order to allow, in practical and efficient manner, the seat bath. The chairs/benches (1) and (1 a) have (9) sustaining legs for seat plan (3), support (8) for thighs of the user and seatback (16), with or without arms (10). The base (2) for toilet basin (V), besides the anatomical edge (4), comprises a contouring shoulder (18) which allows, on one side, its coupling in the front edge of the toilet basin (V), and on the other, the support in the upper wall of the basin (V), which is locked in a manner that the receptacle (5) is placed internally and allows the user to sit down and use his own toilet basin (V) as sustaining base for the seat bath.

Description

The present descriptive report relates to a patent of invention for a chair/bench, in two versions, and also a toilet basin, comprising new constructions, especially due to the angle of seating top edge which limits a central cavity for receiving water, liquid or suitable solution, forming anatomical supports allowing the user to seat comfortably and perform the therapeutic or hygienizing procedure through a “seat bath” system, in this case aimed to gluteal region and genital area, below the navel.

STATUS OF ART

It is known in the medical sector, the so called “seat bath”, or trunk and seat bath, which take place in a bathtub or big bowel with therapeutic purposes or even for hygienization. Such baths produce beneficial reactions for the nervous and immunological system, working on blood circulation and metabolism, causing the thermal regulation in the user. The seat bath acts on eliminatory organs, activating the expulsion of harmful substances present in organism, especially in case of the treatment proposed for gluteal region and genital area. The proposed treatment can also be made in pre and post surgical periods.
For this important therapeutic procedure, also known as “hydric cure”, a bathtub or bowl may receive a suitable volume of water, which may vary in several temperatures according to the aimed benefit or according to the cure therapy for a given disease or illness.
Then, the seat bath with water in a temperature between 13 and 24° C. for example, is beneficial against light fevers, inflammation or congestion of abdominal and pelvic organs, hemorrhoids, intestinal gases, sexual impotence, headaches, excessive sunlight exposure and bronchial congestion.
Seat bath with water in temperature between 33 to 38° C. is beneficial, for example, against sensitive hemorrhoids, for muscular relaxation or sedative effect over the nervous system.
When using hot water, between 38 to 45° C. for seat bath, the user can be protected against cystitis and painful menstruation, insomnia. Sciatic pains can be cured, by applying marine salt in water, as well as in case of vaginal secretion, the water can receive several medicinal leaves, vinegar and other phytotherapic elements. In such cases, mycoses can be treated satisfactorily.
Some precautions must be taken in this kind of treatment, such as gradual adaptation of the user, especially concerning to warmer waters, when the treatment must be performed faster and avoided in people with debilitated capacity of arterial pressure, anemic people and others with problems which require certain medical care. The water can remain hot with gradual addition of boiling water from a kettle, for example, or from shower.
In case of cooler water, the user shall heat the body during bath, ingest tea or hot milk, keep feet under action of hot water or take other precaution measures.
Nevertheless, the bowl is not, as known, the suitable receptacle for this kind of therapy, despite of being used normally. The use of bowl may be really extremely uncomfortable for certain types of people who thus are most needing this kind of therapy, that is, elder people, fatty or others who obviously have any health problem, for example, in case of bone fractures. In case of a fatty person, for example, it is difficult to her to lean and sit down in a comfortable manner in the bowl put on the floor, and it is most difficult, due to excessive weight, when getting up.
In a situation where a person has any fractured member, or in case of elder or ill people, even children, can pose difficulty for users to lean down to accommodating body parts in the bowl, to take a bath, and then getting up. Such steps can make uncomfortable the therapeutic procedure. This discomfort can generate impatience, and as a result, making the user to hurry up, eliminating the required efficacy of the procedure or, at least, discouraging the user to perform other sessions that could be beneficial for his health.

OBJECTIVE OF THE PATENT

By considering these above mentioned problems, to make comfortable and to incentivate the practice of this therapy, which can, without doubt provide benefits for the human health, the inventor projected these chairs/benches and toilet basin, which are the subject of this claim of patent of invention, which comprises as main characteristics, an upper edge conforming in such manner forming a seat with light inclination, oriented to a central receptacle, receiver of suitable volume of water or hydric solution.
Such conformation, in chairs or in toilet basin, provides total comfort for the user to sit down and accommodate the genital region, which remains perfectly immersed under water in the receptacle, in order to perform the seat bath, in a practical and efficient manner.
To do this, the chairs/benches have sustaining legs for seat plan, in the edge with special conformance involves a receptacle with water, the said chairs comprising frontal recesses to support the user's thighs, after sitting down and being accommodated. The chairs/benches have a seatback to provide more comfort and can have or not have arms.
In case of toilet basin, besides the anatomic edge, it comprises a contouring shoulder which allows, on one side, its coupling to the frontal edge of the toilet basin, and on the other, a support on the upper wall of the toilet basin, locking it in such manner to positioning it inside the receptacle, allowing the user to sit down and to use the toilet as sustaining base for seat bath.
In both cases, through chairs or toilet basin, the parts are especially projected to allow the user to sit down and to be accommodated with absolute comfort, independently of his physical limitations, being them fatty, elder, ill people, children and others, increasing the efficiency of the therapeutic benefits provided by the “seat bath” in total hygiene conditions because it can be manufactured of stainless steel, Polypropylene, ABS or other suitable materials.
The chairs/benches have legs projected with angle, comprising parts with recess forming rails along its height, combined and half round profiles, allowing perfect fitting between them to pile up one part over another. The base, due to its conformation allows overlapping units to pile up, making the transportation easier.
The base is manufactured in suitable size to adapt to the “standard” toilet basin, once the chairs can be dimensioned in various sizes, to meet the physical structures of the patients, being them fatty or not.

Superficially explained, the chairs/benches and base, in their forms and positioning, are better detailed through the attached drawings. The figures below, listed from 1 to 7, shows a chair with seatback and arms:

In both cases, the points in the edge which involve the central receptacle are shown, which allows the anatomical accommodation of the user, to receive a seat bath. Such positions are the same for chairs and toilet basin.

In accordance with the illustrations of the attached figures, the “CHAIRS/BENCHES AND TOILET BASIN FOR SEAT BATH, FOR THERAPEUTICAL PURPOSES”, subject of the present claim of patent of invention, comprises a chair (1) with version (1 a), and also a base (2), which are projected for therapeutic practices of “seat bath”.
The chairs/benches (1), (1 a) and base (2) are formed from a seat plan (3), which edge (4) suffers a light inclination oriented to the lower end in order to limit the central receptacle (5), with walls (6) also inclined, with is oriented to the bottom end (7), closed, and both parts (1) and (1 a) have pairs of recess (8) in the front portion of their seat plans (3).
The chair/bench (1) have legs (9) slightly bowed, projected from their arms (10) and have portions with recess forming rails (11) along their height.
The chair/bench (1 a), for instance, have front legs (12) perpendicular to the seat plan (3) with half round rear profile (13), and the rear legs (14) are inclined to the rear side and have side portions in recess, also forming rails (15).
Both chairs/benches have seatback (16), also including fasteners (17), and the chair (1 a) has only a seatback (16).
The base (2) has seat plan (3) with edge (4) equally inclined, converging to the walls (6) of the central receptacle (5), also comprising a closing bottom end (7), however its seat plan (3) is involved by an external contouring shoulder (18). Such shoulder (18) is slightly inclined to the outside, and is more inclined in its frontal portion (19) in form of a gulley, the said shoulder (18) comprising side fasteners (20) and then, presenting a cut (21) to form the rear portion with the shape of a backstop strip (22).
Thus constituted, the chairs/benches (1) and (1 a) and base (2) are used to receive water in suitable temperature in their receptacles (5) and to allow, through the edges (4) of their seat plans (3), the user to sit down and to anatomically accommodating his gluteus, supporting the lower portion of his thighs on the frontal recess (8) (in case of chairs).
In this position, as specifically illustrated in FIG. 6, the user will be sitting down on a relaxation point provided through the edge (4) allowing the opening of the genitalia, being able to rest or not against the seatback (16) or leaving his hands on the arms (10) of the chair/bench (1). Nevertheless, the user remains with his gluteus and genital region immersed in water or hydric solution of the receptacle (5) to make a seat bath accommodated with total comfort, provided through conformation of edges (4), as illustrated in FIG. 7.
As illustrated in FIG. 14, in case of base (2), its frontal gulley (19) of its shoulder (18) can be coupled in order to hold the edge of the toilet basin (V), which rear upper wall is supported by the backstop strip (22). Thus, the base (2) partially inserts its receptacle (5) containing water in the toilet basin, which is used as sustaining structure to allow the user to take the seat bath.
Through the recess portions or rails (11), combined to bowed legs (9), the chair/bench (1) can be piled up with other units, as illustrated in FIG. 15A.
The same occurs, as shown in FIG. 15B, concerning to the chair/bench (1 a), due to their front legs (12) with half round profile (13), which holds the front leg of the subsequent chair, simultaneously to the coupling between the rails (15) of their inclined rear legs (14).
The base (2), due to its own conformation, allows piling up without problems, also shown in FIG. 15C.

Claims

1) CHAIRS/BENCHES AND TOILET BASIN FOR SEAT BATH, FOR THERAPEUTICAL PURPOSES, comprising a chair or bench with a base having a seat with an edge having a slight inclination converging in a lower end, and limiting a central receptacle, with inclined walls, oriented to the bottom end, said chair or bench having pairs of recesses in a front side thereof the base having a contoured external shoulder, said shoulder being slightly inclined, to form a downwardly inclined lip with side fasteners, said lip having a cut to a rear portion of decreased shape.

2) CHAIRS/BENCHES AND TOILET BASIN FOR SEAT BATH, FOR THERAPEUTICAL PURPOSES, according to claim 1, wherein the chair or bench has arms and slightly bowed front and rear legs that project from the arms said legs having front and rear recess forming rails along the chair or bench having front legs perpendicular to the seat with a half round rear profile and the rear legs being inclined to a rear side.
