What I claim is:-
i. In an ignition timing governor, circuit breakerand distributor, a governor housing having a closed end, a driving shaft, a driven shaft coaxial therewith, a plate fixed to said driving shaft, pins projecting from said plate, a loose plate mounted on said driven shaft, pins mounted on said loose plate, resilient means connecting said pins with the first mentioned pins, a third plate fixed to the driven shaft, and having a pair of pins projecting therefrom, a pair of centrifugal weights pivotedly mounted to rotate thereon and having cam faces pro ecting therefrom, openings through which they in the edge of said third plate pins of said loose plate project so that the loose plate may rotate a limited number of degrees before engaging with the fixed plate, a cam rigidly connected withthe drivingshaft and engaging with the cam faces of said centrifugal weights, a circuit breaker cam, circuit breaker mechanism mounted in said governor housing, a distributor arm mounted on said driven shaft, friction means associated with said distributor arm for the purpose described;

In an ignition timing governor, circuit breaker and distributor, a governor housing having a closed end, a driving shaft, a driven shaft coaxial therewith, a plate fixed to said driving shaft, pins projecting from said plate, a loose plate mounted on said driven shaft, pins mounted on said loose plate, resilient means connecting said pins with the first mentioned pins, a third plate fixed to the driven shaft and having a pair of pins projecting therefrom, a pair of centrifugal weights pivotedly mounted to rotate thereon and. having cam faces projecting therefrom, openings in the edge of said third plate through which the pins of said loose plate project so that the loose plate may rotate a limited number of degrees before engaging with the fixed plate, a cam rigidly connected with the driving shaft and engaging with the cam faces of said centrifugal weights, a circuit breaker cam, circuit breaker mechanism mounted in said governor housing, friction means engaging with said driven shaft for the purpose described.
3. Inan ignition timing governor and distributor, a housing therefor having a closed end, a dri Jing shaft, a driven shaft coaxial therewith, a plate fixed to said driving shaft, pins projecting from said plate, a loose plate mounted on said driven shaft, pins mounted on said plate, springs connecting said pins with the first mentioned pins, a plate fixed to the driven shaft, a pair of centrifugal weights pivotedly mounted to rotate thereon and having cam faces integral therewith, means permitting the loose plate to freely rotate a limited number of degrees and then to engage with the fixed plate, a cam rigidly connected with the driving shaft and engaging with the cam faces of said centrifugal weights, a circuit breaker cam, a distributor arm mounted on said driven shaft, friction means associated with said distributor arm comprising an electrical conductor yieldably mounted on said arm, a central conductor and a series of conductors mounted in a circle around said first conductor in the closed end of said housing.
4. In an ignition timing governor, a driving shaft, a plate rigidly mounted thereon, a second plate mounted for relative circumferential move-- ment with reference to the first plate, a third plate mounted to turn freely through a limited angle on said shaft, a circuit breaker cam rigidly connected with the third plate, spring means connecting the first plate to the second plate, a governor for advancing the third plate, and a lost motion connection between the second and third plates to relieve spring tension from the second plate when the thirdplate is only partially advanced.
5. In an ignition timing governor, a driving shaft, a plate rigidly mounted thereon, a cam rigidly connected to said plate, a second plate driven by said shaft, a third plate having limited free circumferential movement on said shaft, a timing cam rigidly connected to the third plate,
centrifugal members'mounted on the. third plate and engaging the first cam to cause relative advance of the third plate as said members move outwardly, and spring meansconnecting the first and second plates to oppose the relativeadvance of the latter. 1
6. In an ignition timing governor, a driving shaft, 2. plate rigidly mounted thereon, a second plate mounted for advance movement with relation to the first plate, a third plate mounted for limited advance movement with reference to the second plate, a circuit breaker cam rigidly connected to the third plate, centrifugal means for advancing the third plate, frictional means resisting the advance of the third plate, and spring means resisting the influence of the centrifugal means upon the second plate.
.7. In an ignition timing governor, a driving shaft, a plate rigidly mounted thereon, a second plate mounted for advance movement with relation to the first plate, a third plate mounted for limited advance movement with reference to the second plate, a circuit breaker cam: rigidly connected to the third plate, centrifugal means for advancing the third plate, and spring means operable to resist such advance only aftera predetermined initial advance has been completed.
8. In an ignition timing governon'a driving shaft, 9, member mounted for advance movement with reference to said shaft, a plate mounted for advance movement with reference to said member, a circuit breaker cam rigidly connected to said plate, centrifugal means for advancing said plate and cam, a pin and slot connectionlimiting the advance of said to said member, and spring means resisting the advance of said member with reference to the shaft.

In an ignition timing governor, a shaft, a circuit breaker cam mounted for relative advance movement with reference to the shaft, a governorv for effecting the advance of said cam, frictional means opposing the initial advance of the cam, and spring means opposing further advance thereof only after the initial advance has been completed. 10. In an ignition timing governor, a shaft, a circuit breaker cam mounted for relative advance movement with reference to the shaft, a governor for effecting the advance of said cam, and spring means operable to resist such advance only after a predetermined initial advance has been 7 completed.
