Definitions
- the present invention relates to a polishing device, and particularly, to a polishing brush with replaceable bristles.
- Polishing brushes are widely used, especially in a field of cleaning and polishing underlay and surfaces of a workpiece.
- Typical polishing brushes are usually made up of polishing bristles that polishes the underlay or the surfaces of the workpiece.
- the polishing bristles are easily consumed or damaged. This reduces the service life of the polishing brush.
- the conventional polishing brushes usually are not reused. Thus, once the polishing bristles are consumed or damaged, a new polishing brush is needed for replacement.
- a polishing brush specially designed for polishing certain apparatuses normally need many accessories so that it can reach specific portions of the apparatuses. This increases manufacturing and maintenance cost of the polishing brush.
- a polishing brush includes a mounting member, a plurality of polishing bristles and a latching member.
- the mounting member defines a plurality of through holes. Each of the polishing bristles is partially inserted into one of the plurality of through holes respectively.
- the latching member connects with all of the polishing bristles at a side of the through holes of the mounting member, and fixed in the mounting member. When the latching member is disconnected from the mounting member, the polishing bristles are detached from the mounting member.
- FIG. 1 is an exploded, isometric view of a polishing brush according to a first exemplary embodiment of the present invention.
- FIG. 2 is a partially assembled, isometric view of the polishing brush of FIG. 1 .
- FIG. 3 is an assembled, isometric view of the polishing brush of FIG. 1 .
- FIG. 4 is an isometric view of a polishing brush according to a second exemplary embodiment of the present invention.
- the polishing brush 10 for cleaning and polishing a surface of a workpiece in accordance with a first exemplary embodiment of the present invention is shown.
- the polishing brush 10 includes a cover 102 , a mounting member 104 , a plurality of polishing bristles 105 , a latching member 106 and two fastener members 107 .
- the mounting member 104 is a circular plate defining a plurality of through holes 1042 and two threaded holes 1044 .
- the through holes 1042 are arranged along imaginary concentric circles, and a center of the imaginary concentric circles is at a center of a surface of the mounting member 104 .
- the two threaded holes 1044 are symmetrical relative to the center of the surface of the mounting member 104 .
- the through holes 1042 are circular, rectangular or any other shapes. Alternatively, the through holes 1042 can be arranged in a random manner.
- Each of the polishing bristles 105 is folded symmetrically to form a connecting loop end 1052 .
- the connecting loop ends 1052 of the polishing bristles 105 are insertable through the corresponding through holes 1042 of the mounting member 104 from one side of the surface of the mounting member 104 .
- the latching member 106 is a cable that is insertable through all the connecting loop ends 1052 of the 105 at another side of the mounting member 104 . Distal ends of the latching member 106 are received in the threaded holes 1044 correspondingly.
- the cover 102 includes a circular base 1022 and a circular sidewall 1024 .
- the circular sidewall 1024 extends around from a periphery of a first surface of the base 1022 .
- the cover 102 further includes a handle 1026 located at a center of a second surface of the base 1022 .
- the first surface of the base 1022 is opposite to the second surface of the base 1022 .
- the circular base 1022 defines two mounting holes 1028 corresponding to the two threaded holes 1044 of the mounting member 104 .
- the two fastener members 107 are two screws configured for protruding through the mounting hole 1028 and screwed in the threaded hole 1044 , such that the mounting member 104 is fixed in a receiving space cooperatively defined by the base 1022 and the sidewall 1024 of the cover 102 . At the same time, the latching member 106 is fixed to the mounting member 104 tightly.
- each of the polishing bristles 105 is folded symmetrically to form a connecting loop end 1052 .
- the connecting loop ends 1052 of the polishing bristles 105 are inserted through the corresponding through holes 1042 of the mounting member 104 from one side of the surface of the mounting member 104 .
- the latching member 106 passes through all of the connecting loop ends 1052 to connect with all of the polishing bristles 105 at another side of the mounting member 104 , and two ends of the latching member 106 are fixed to the mounting member 104 by being placed in the threaded holes 1044 .
- the mounting member 104 is placed into the cover 102 to make the connecting loop ends 1052 of the polishing bristles 105 contact with the base 1022 . Finally, the mounting member 104 is tightly fixed to the cover 102 by screwing the fixing members (screw) 107 through the mounting holes 1028 and the threaded holes 1044 .
- the bristles of the brush can be replaced conveniently and efficiently.
- the latching member can be pulled out from loops of the bristles the mounting member, such that all of the polishing bristles are detached from the mounting member.
- the shape of the mounting member 104 is not limited to the embodiment described above.
- a shape of mounting member 104 may be rectangular or any other shapes.
- the shape of the base 1022 of the cover 102 may be rectangular or any other shapes.
- a shape of the cover 102 may be frustum-conical.
- the mounting member 104 can be mounted into the cover 102 by other fastener members 107 , such as positioning pin, latching structures and so on.
- the polishing brush 20 includes a mounting member 204 , a plurality of polishing bristles 205 , a latching member 206 .
- the polishing brush 20 is similar in principle to the polishing brush 10 in FIG. 1 of the first exemplary embodiment, except that an end of each polishing bristle 205 is connected to a ring 207 .
- the latching member 206 connects all of the polishing bristles 205 by passing through the rings 207 . When the polishing bristles 205 are damaged or consumed, the latching member 206 can be pulled out from the rings 207 , such that all of the polishing bristles 205 are detached from the mounting member 204 .
