Abstract

An external wind reflector is an adjustable apparatus comprising of reflector and holder, which function is to direct the wind blown from a cool and/or warm air-conditioning unit towards a more desired area or spot other than the previous area or spot initially covered by the unit's flap or louver at the discharging outlet. It can be easily attach/detached to/from the unit or its surroundings. It can also be integrated with fragrant stuff or dispensing means.

Description

    CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS
  • Not applicable.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • This invention relates to an external wind reflector for a cool and/or warm air-conditioning unit (herein after referred to as the unit).
  • It is well known that the conditioned wind directly blown from the unit covers a certain area or spot, but some people may feel unpleasant by this straight wind blow while they are within this covered area or spot and prefer to avoid it. On the contrary there are some other people who may even want to feel a stronger or focused wind blow towards them than what is initially provided by the unit.
  • BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • According to this invention there is an additional external apparatus other than the horizontal/vertical fin or louver initially fixed to the unit's discharging outlet, which function is to direct and focus the wind blow from the outlet towards a more desired area or spot partly or totally other than the previous area or spot initially covered by the unit itself. This external wind reflector consists of a reflector and a holding means which can be placed anywhere on the unit or at the surroundings (wall/ceiling, panel, etc.) and can be easily mounted using a special pre-equipped or additional slot with screw, double-faced tape, pinching means, bracket, etc. It can also be adjusted in any direction using among other things hinge system, internally-overlapping (telescopic) holder, externally-overlapping holder, scissor-lift system, flexible material, etc., be made in any shape and out of any material. It can also be placed either directly connected to the discharging outlet and/or in a distant. Furthermore, this apparatus can be integrated with fragrant or fragrance-causing stuff (in the form of liquid, powder, compacted powder, layer/membrane, etc.), or dispensing means, by attaching/fixing, sticking, pasting, etc., to direct the scent accordingly. When not in use the external wind reflector can be dismantled. In a slot-pre-equipped type unit the slot can be hidden by among other ways rotating at its axle, pulling it out totally-reverse- and insert back in (for the non-axled slot), sliding it upwards, etc. to get a non-protruding surface. The dismantling can also be done by just pulling this apparatus out of its slot, bracket, etc.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING
  • A further embodiment will be described by ways of examples with reference to the accompanying drawings in which:
  • FIG. 1 shows the perspective of the apparatus installed on an indoor equipment of a split type unit.
  • FIGS. 2, 2A and 2B show the detailed perspective of a serial movement of the slot 3 of FIG. 1.
  • FIGS. 3, 3A and 3B show the detailed perspective of a serial movement of another type of slot.
  • FIG. 4 shows the detailed perspective of another type of slot.
  • FIG. 5 shows the perspective of the apparatus installed on an indoor equipment of a split type unit.
  • FIG. 6 shows the perspective of the apparatus installed on a convector cabinet.
  • FIG. 7 shows the perspective of the apparatus installed on a ceiling at the side of a diffuser.
  • FIG. 8 shows the perspective of the apparatus installed on a diffuser in a car.
  • FIG. 9 shows the perspective of the apparatus installed on a window type unit.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • FIG. 1 shows the apparatus that consists of the reflector 1, holder 2 and the holder's slot 3. Mounting to the unit can be done by inserting the holder 2 into the slot 3 via the gap, and inserting the reflector 1 into the beginning 4 of the holder. Position of the reflector can be adjusted, 1. by using a tightenable hinge system 4 to adjust the angle; 2. by rotating the round holder's end in the slot (swinging the vertical part of the holder) continued by inserting the holder's beginning to the desired holes or slots (of other type) provided along the bottom part of the reflector to adjust the level/height; 3. and by using telescopic system to adjust the distance, either horizontally as shown, or vertically in case the vertical holder is telescopical too.
  • FIG. 2 shows the detail of the slot 3 pre-fabricated at the bottom of the unit, when if not in use can be hidden by rotating at its axle FIG. 2A to get the opposite/back-side flat surface FIG. 2B. In order for the slot to be firm to the main casing/body of the unit the tongue 5-and-groove 6 system is applied.
  • FIG. 3 shows another type detail of the slot pre-fabricated at the bottom of the unit, when if not in use can be hidden by sliding the slot upwards FIG. 3A to get the bottom-side flat surface FIG. 3B. In order for the slot to be firm to the main casing/body of the unit the tongue 7-and-groove system is applied.
  • FIG. 4 shows the detail of a slot set 8 that can be attached to a unit not initially pre-equipped with slot, by using screw 9 and/or double-faced tape 10.
  • FIG. 5 shows the apparatus where the reflector 11 is held by a combination of a telescopic (internally-overlapping) 12 and a scissor-lift 13 holder that can be retracted to the unit. Not limited by this presentation only, the holder can also be in the form of externally-overlapping one, or just a common rod/frame.
  • FIG. 6 shows the apparatus with multiple reflectors 14. The multiple reflectors may reflect the wind blow either horizontally and/or vertically. Not limited by this presentation only, multiple reflectors can also be in the form of foldable or extendable ones to get a wider reflecting area.
  • FIG. 7 shows the apparatus directly connected to the unit where the reflector 15 is in the shape of trapezoid-rectangular four-sided retractable and flexible sheets joined together to form a three-dimensional duct-shape reflector reinforced with rib 16, and the holder is in the form of a bracket 17. This bracket is attached to the unit using screw where the reflector can be easily unslotted from the bracket if not in use.
  • FIG. 8 shows the double apparatus directly connected to the unit where each reflector 18 is in the form of three-dimensional retractable round duct-shape reflector made out of flexible material. The holder 19 is attached to the diffuser by pinching the fin and in this example the holding plate also functions as a rectangular-to-round shape adaptor 20.
  • FIG. 9 shows the apparatus with another two-dimensional reflector 21 held by holder that has a pre-equipped slot in the form of hole 22. This hole can be plugged if not in use. Not limited by this presentation only the position of the reflector can be horizontal as illustrated, or vertical, or in any desired position.
  • The above mentioned invention may be embodied in other forms and the foregoing illustrations must not limit the invention.
