Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- This invention relates to a waning device for generate a safety signal and, more particularly, to a warning device which is mountable either on a stroller frame or a safety seat for generating the signal while the safety seat is safely connected with the stroller.
- 2. Description of the Related Art
- Stroller and car seat becomes a necessity to every family having an infant or baby. The conventional foldable stroller is considered as a convenience tool to carry the baby or young child during outdoor activities such as foot traveling and shopping. According to rules and regulations, the car seat must be employed in every vehicle for transporting the baby or young child. Therefore, the stroller and the car seat play the main role for the parents to carry their babies.
- However, it is a hassle for the parent to move the baby back and forth from the safety seat to the stroller. Especially when the baby falls asleep, the parent may merely wake him or her up while moving him or her from/to the safety seat to/from the stroller. Once the baby wakes up, the parent may take longer time to soothe him or her back to sleep.
- Therefore, the parent may put the safety seat on the stroller so as to carry the safety seat and the stroller at the same time. In U.S. Pat. No. 5,676,386, a baby stroller is provided with an engaging device for the parent to move the baby from the car to the stroller without waking up the baby. As the engaging device is a complex mechanism, the user cannot make sure whether the safety seat has been safely engaged to the stroller.
- To overcome the shortcomings, the present invention intends to provide a warning device to help the user to make sure the safety of the engagement between the safety seat and the stroller.
- A warning device according to the present invention includes a safety seat, a baby stroller frame and an electronic device. The safety seat has a seat body, a handle and a pair of connecting elements; the baby stroller frame has a connecting base provided with a pair of receptacles adapted for engaging with the connecting elements. In addition, the electronic device has at least a signal generating element, a battery, electronic circuit and at least a first touching switch received in either one of the receptacles or the connecting elements for generating a safety signal when the connecting elements is fully inserted into the receptacles. It is to be understood that both the foregoing general description and the following detailed description are exemplary and explanatory and are intended to provide further explanation of the invention as claimed.
- The accompanying drawings, which are included to provide a further understanding of the invention are incorporated in and constitute a part of this specification, illustrate embodiments of the invention and together with the description serve to explain the principles of the invention. In the drawings:
-
FIG. 1 is an exploded side view of an embodiment according to the present invention. -
FIG. 2 is a schematic view showing the operation of a safety seat of the embodiment of FIG 1. -
FIG. 3 is a schematic view showing the connection between the safety seat and the stroller of the embodiment ofFIG. 1 . -
FIG. 4 is a schematic view showing an embodiment of the brake mechanism ofFIG. 2 , wherein the slider is biased by the resilient element to disengage from the toothed portion of the wheel, thereby keeping the stroller in a non-brake state. -
FIG. 5 is a schematic view showing an electronic device of the warning device according to the present invention. -
FIG. 6 is a schematic view showing another embodiment of the electronic device of the warning device according to the present invention. - Referring to
FIGS. 1 to 4 , an embodiment of warning device according to the present invention includes asafety seat 2, ababy stroller frame 3 and an electronic device 4. Thesafety seat 2 has aseat body 21, ahandle 22 and a pair of connectingelements 23. - The
baby stroller frame 3 has a connectingbase 31 provided with a pair of receptacles adapted for engaging with the connectingelements 31. Thebaby stroller frame 3 may further comprise a pair ofopposed side portions 32 for installing the electronic device 4 which has at least asignal generating element 46, abattery 45, and electronic circuit (not shown) and at least afirst touching switch 42 which is receivable in either one of thereceptacles 311 or the connectingelements 23 for generating a safety signal when the connectingelements 23 is fully inserted into thereceptacles 311. - In this embodiment, the first touching
switch 42 is mounted inside thereceptacles 311. Theconnecting elements 31 each comprises aplug 231 for inserting into thereceptacles 311 so as to connect thesafety seat 2 to thebaby stroller frame 3. While theplug 231 is fully inserted into thereceptacles 311 and touched thefirst touching switch 42, thesignal generating element 46 is generating a safety signal for showing the connection between theplug 231 and thereceptacles 311 has been safely completed. - Preferably, the
handle 22 may formed with a pair oflatch 232 for locking thesafety seat 2 to thebaby stroller frame 3 that prevents theplug 231 leaving thereceptacles 311. Referring toFIG. 2 , thehandle 22 is rotatable and positionable by apositioning mechanism 24. Thehandle 22 can be positioned in an accessible position 10, asecuring position 20 and a supportingposition 30. Referring toFIGS. 2 and 5 , while thehandle 22 is rotated from the accessible position 10 to thesecuring position 20, thelatch 232 is relatively rotated to a position that locks thesafety seat 2 to thebaby stroller frame 3. - Oppositely, when the
handle 22 is rotated and positioned in the accessible position 10, thelatch 232 is relatively rotated to an unlocked position, this permits thesafety seat 2 to be moved from thestroller frame 3. Further, when thehandle 22 is rotated and positioned at the supportingposition 30, it would help to steady thesafety seat 2 against a possible rocking. - Persons of ordinary skill in the art will appreciate that the
connecting base 31 may be formed with a pair oflatching slot 312 as shown inFIG. 3 for engaging with thelatch 232. - Referring to
FIG. 4 , the electronic device 4 may further comprise acontrol panel 41, a power switch, and asecond touching switch 43 which installed inside thelatching slot 312. While thelatches 232 is fully engaged into thelatching slot 312 and touched thesecond touching switch 43, thesignal generating element 46 is then generating a safety signal, for instance a sound or light for showing the engagement thereof has been safely completed. - Persons of ordinary skill in the art will further appreciate that, although in the preferred example, the first and second touching
element receptacles 311 and thelatching slot 312, but either could alternatively be installed at theplug 231 and thelatch 232 for showing thesafety seat 2 is safely connected to thebaby stroller frame 3. - Although certain apparatus constructed in accordance with the teachings of the invention have been described herein, the scope of coverage of this patent is not limited thereto. On the contrary, this patent covers all embodiments of the teachings of the invention fairly falling within the scope of the appended claims either literally or under the doctrine of equivalents.
