Abstract
The purpose for the smoker's bib is to keep smokers from burning their clothes while driving with the air conditioner on. The smoker's bib will be made from a light weight and anti-flammable material which will not cause a fire.
The smoker's bib will fit around the neck (attached with Velcro) and cover the front of your outfit from the neck to the knees.
This smoker's bib will be one size fits all.
Description
- The object of the present invention relates to bibs and other clothing protectors which are utilized to prevent bums on clothing made up by cigarettes, lighters, cigars, ashes, and preventing the soiling of the clothing by their byproducts Most of the bib of the prior art do are focused on baby bibs, or more in general to bibs or other apparatuses to protect the clothing from soiling due to dirt, food, liquids, and so on. Thus, a need exists for a clothing protector which is provides protection against the burning or soiling of the clothing due to smoke.
- The present invention provides a clothing protector system which includes a bib for protecting an article of clothing of a user which has a front side configured to face outwardly from said user, a back side configured to contact the user, and opposite longitudinal sides.
- Said outwardly side is made of a fire protective or fire retardant material such as it prevents ashes, cigarette butts, smokes, sparks, flying flames to burn the clothing which is to protect.
- Said back or inner side is made of a soft cloth. The two sides that compose the present invention are joined along their perimeters. In one of the preferred embodiments of the present invention said two sides are collapsed into one single layer of fire resistant material.
- The present invention provides also a method for use in protecting clothing which includes wearing said bib around the neck and for protecting an article of clothing of a user.
- The claimed bib has specific application when a driver is driving with the car air conditioning on. Drivers have the tendency of multi task and often they are too concentrated on the driving rather than on the effect of the smoking, with the consequence that burning ashes, cigarette butts, and flying sparks are moved into the air by the air current created by the air conditioning and in turn end up in landing on the driver's clothing.
- By wearing the bib object of the present invention the smoker diver can concentrate on the driving because its clothes are protected by the smoker bib.
- These, and other objects, features and advantages of this invention will become apparent from the following detailed description of the various aspects of the invention taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

FIG. 1 is a front elevational view of a clothing protector in accordance with on of the preferred embodiments of the present invention; -
FIG. 2 is a front elevational view of a clothing protector in accordance with one different preferred embodiment of the present invention; - In accordance with the principals of the present invention, a clothing protector system and a method for use in protecting clothing are provided.
- In an exemplary embodiment depicted in
FIG. 1 , a clothing protector system includes a bib portion constituted by the main body 3, a collar portion generally identified by the numeral 1 and the space for the head 3. - The claimed bib may include a neck-receiving portion having a collar attached thereto such as described in
FIG. 1 . In a different embodiment of the present invention said neck receiving portion 1 may be openable to allow a user to place the neck-receiving portion around his or her neck. - For example, a first end 4 may be connected to a second end that in the drawing is not visible because is underneath said first end 4 by a hook and loop type fastener. In one preferred embodiment of the present invention said fastener is VELCRO (a Registered Trademark) but it may as well be buttons, or other equivalent means of connecting portions of clothing to one another.
- As depicted in the figures, neck receiving portion generally indicated by the numeral 1 may be an arched portion at a top end of said bib but it could also have other shapes like square, oval, or rectangular depending on the tastes and preferences of the user. Further said neck receiving portion may be designed defining an opening 2 for receiving the neck of a user.
- It will be understood by one skilled in the art that the object of the present invention can be shaped and dimensioned in several different but functionally equivalent ways without departing from the nature of the claims. Similarly different materials can be used to manufacture or realize different embodiments of the present invention.
- Also, although preferred embodiments have been depicted and described in detail herein, it will be apparent to those skilled in the relevant art that various modifications, additions, substitutions and the like can be made without departing from the spirit of the invention and these are therefore considered to be within the scope of the invention as defined in the following claims.

2. A clothing protector system comprising: a bib for protecting an article of clothing of a user, the bib having a front side configured to face outwardly from a user, a back side configured to contact the user, and opposite longitudinal sides; said bib made of fire resistant material.
3. The bib of claim 2 wherein said bib comprises a neck-receiving portion.
4. A method for use in protecting clothing comprising; wearing the bib of claim 2 for protecting an article of clothing of a user while smoking.
