3 Claims. (Cl. 128-57) This invention relates to a massage device especially adaptable for use on various parts of thev human anatomy and also to be employed forA strengthening a persons grip, and Vhas for the primary object the provision of a device which may be set on the floor or on a support to permit a person to easily move the feet or hands back- Wardly and forwardly thereover to produce a massaging effect to the feet or hands for stimulating the circulation of the blood and to strengthen the muscles and also maybe readily folded for use in the hand so that it may be moved over the body, legs and arms for the same stimulating effect to the blood and muscles and when folded may be easily carried or stored in a small space so that a person when traveling may have the same for use at any time desired.

With these and other objects in view this invention consists in certain novel features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts claimed.

For a complete understanding of my invention, reference is to be had to the following description and accompanying drawing, in whichl Figure 1 i'r a top plan view partly in section illustrating a massage device constructed in ac'- cordance with my invention.

Figure 2 is a side elevation illustrating the same.

Figure 3 is a detail sectional view taken on the line 3-3 of Figure 1.

Figure 4 is a side elevation showing the device in a folded position.

Figure 5 is a perspective view illustrating a spring.

Referring in detail to the drawing, the numeral I indicates end members to which are secured ears 2 and the ears of each end member are connected'by a shaft 3 rotatably supporting sleeves l that extend into the bore 5 of a roller 6. The sleeves 4 have collars 'I integral therewith which abut the ends of the roller 6. The rollers 6 parallel the end members I and are shaped to provide hand grips which may be grasped by the handsadapted to be turned against the overlapping ends of the arms 8. The adjacent ends of the arms are offset to form ears II adapted to have be hereinafter more fully described andv abutting engagement with each other when the arms are positioned, as shown in Figure 1, to prevent pivotal movement of said arms during the use of the device when massaging the feet or hands. Mounted on the shaft 9 are sleeves i2 which extend into the bore of an intermediate roller I3, the latter being preferably constructed of sections tapering towards their adjacent ends. The sleeves I2 are flanged, as shown at i4. to abut the ends of the roller I3.

Brackets I5 are mounted on the shaft 9 andV extend in opposite directions from said shaft for .rotatably supporting shafts I6 on which are Jour-J naled rollers I'I each including a series of sec-4 tions, said sections tapering, as shown in Figure l. The rollers I1 are of a greater length than thc roller i3. The device when positioned as shown in Figure 2, the rollers il and I3 project above the rollers G and with the device positioned, upon the floor a person may move the foot backward and forward over the rollers thereby massaging the footl to stimulate the circulation of blood and to. strengthen the muscles which aids l in curing foot troubles, such as fallen arches. The

device positioned upon a table or like support the person may move the hands backward and forward over the rollers providing to the hands a stimulating effect to the blood and strengthening the muscles. `The device is provided with anti-slipping strips I8 secured to the end memy bers I to prevent the device from slipping when placed on a floor or support.

To employ the device for massaging the body the wing nuts are released and the end members swung towards each other and the wing nuts again tightened. The person may then readily grasp the rollers 6 and move the device over the body with the rollers I3 and II in contact with the body. This will provideto the body a stimulating effect to the blood and also materially strengthen weakened muscles. The device when folded as described will permit the storing of the device in a comparatively small space. The Wing nuts may be left loose and the device in the folded one end of the spring Il may be disconnected from its respective arm I so as to render the spring inoperative.

Having described the invention, I claim:

' l. A massage device comprising spaced rollers, supporting means forming journals for the rollers and including a shaft, pairs of arms having adjacent ends thereof joumaled to the shaftl and located outwardly of the ends of said rollers, means on said shaft to releasably secure the arms for movement towards and from each other, means formed on the adjacent ends of said arms to abut for limiting the movement of the arms away from each other, and combined hand grips and support engaging means connected tothe arms. f

2. A massage device comprising spaced rollers, supporting means forming Journals for the rollers and including a shaft, pairs of arms having adjacent ends thereof journaled to the shaft and located outwardly of the ends of said rollers,

A massage device comprising spaced rollers; supporting means forming journals for the rollers and including a shaft. pairs of arms having adjacent ends thereof journaled to the shaft and located outwardly of the ends of said rollers, means on said shaft to releasably secure the arms for movement towards and from each other, means formed on the adjacent ends of said arms to abut for limiting the movement of the arms away from each other, shafts journaled to the arms, support engaging elements mounted to the second-named shafts, roller type hand grips journaled to the second-named shafts, and spring means mounted to the first-named shaft and detachably connected to said arms and acting to urge said arms away from one another when con- VICTOR H.
