Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates to an electrical connector bracket, particularly to a electrical connector for receiving chip modules therein.
  • 2. Description of the Prior Art
  • A conventional electrical connector bracket 5′ for containing chip modules therein is disclosed in FIGS. 4-6. The electrical connector bracket 5′ comprises a base plate 51′, a first sidewall 52′ and a second sidewall 53′ connecting the first sidewall 52′, and extending upwardly from two pairs of lateral sides of the base plate 51′, a transverse inner wall 54′ and a lengthwise inner wall 55′ perpendicular to the transverse inner wall 54′ and extending from inner base plate 51′. The first sidewall 52′ and the second sidewall 53′ form cooperatively a closed section. The transverse inner-wall 54′ and lengthwise inner wall 55′ divide the closed section into several small rectangular carrying sections, and each rectangular section can receive an electrical connector therein. In each rectangular carrying section, the transverse inner wall 54′ defines an opening 541′ adjacent the lengthwise inner wall 55′. When a rectangular carrying section of the electrical connector bracket 5′ receives an electrical connector with a lever having a bent portion, the opening 541′ disposed on the transverse inner wall 54′ can receives the bent portion of the lever, which can make best use of carrying section room.
  • However, said electrical connector bracket 5′ described above has following drawbacks: referring to FIG. 5-6, each carrying section only defines an opening in a center portion of the transverse inner wall 54′ and the second sidewall 53′ is closed. In this case, when the electrical connector brackets 5′ receiving the chip modules thereof are stacked up, it is not certain that some carrying section of the electrical connector bracket 5′ receives the chip module or not, which can complicate the product management. In addition, if each of the electrical connectors received in the electrical connector bracket 5′ is mounted on a lever defining a bent portion, only some carrying sections of electrical connector bracket 5′ can contain the electrical connector mounted the lever defining the bent portion, so the electrical connector bracket 5′ is not used efficiently.
  • Hence, an improved electrical connector bracket is required to overcome the disadvantages of the prior art.
  • BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • An object of the present invention is to provide an electrical connector bracket able to see an electrical connector received therein when the electrical connector brackets are stacked up and each carrying section of the electrical connector bracket can receive an electrical connector equipped with a lever defining a bent portion.
  • An electrical connector bracket in accordance with a preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises a base plate, a first sidewall and a second sidewall connecting the first sidewall extending upwardly from two pair of lateral sides of the base plate, a transverse inner wall and a lengthwise inner wall perpendicular to the transverse inner wall extending from inner base plate. The first sidewall and the second sidewall form cooperatively a closed section. The transverse inner wall and a lengthwise inner wall divide the closed section into several small rectangular carrying sections, and each rectangular carrying section can receive an electrical connector therein. In each rectangular carrying section, each second sidewall of the carrying portion defines an opening adjacent to the lengthwise inner wall.
  • Relative to the present technology, the electrical connector bracket in accordance with a preferred embodiment of the invention defines an opening in the lengthwise inner wall of each carrying section thereof. In this state when the electrical connector brackets are stacked up, each carrying section of the electrical connector bracket receiving the electrical connector or not can be seen by the opening defined in the lengthwise inner wall and each carrying section of the electrical connector bracket can receive the electrical connector equipped with a lever defining a bent portion.
  • Other objects, advantages and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description of a preferred embodiment when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 is an isometric view of an electrical connector bracket in accordance with a preferred embodiment of the invention;
  • FIG. 2 is an isometric view of two electrical connector bracket receiving electrical connector therein are stacked up;
  • FIG. 3 is a plan view of two electrical connector bracket shown in FIG. 5;
  • FIG. 4 is an isometric view of a conventional electrical connector bracket;
  • FIG. 5 is an isometric view of two conventional electrical connector bracket receiving electrical connector therein are stacked up;
  • FIG. 6 is a plan view of two electrical connector bracket shown in FIG. 5.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
  • Referring to FIG. 1, an electrical connector bracket 5 comprises a base plate 51, a first sidewall 52 and a second sidewall 53 perpendicularly to the first sidewall 52 extending from two pairs of opposite lateral sides of the base plate 51 and a transverse inner wall 54 and lengthwise inner wall 55 perpendicular to the transverse inner wall 54 extending from an inner section of the base plate 51.
  • The rectangular base plate 51 defines a pair of projected ears 511 relative to center potion of the lengthwise inner wall 55 for moving the electrical connector bracket 5 easily. The electrical connector bracket 5 defines a pair of concavities 532 on the transverse sidewall 54 adjacent to lengthwise sidewall 55 for moving the electrical connector bracket 5 more easily. The first sidewall 52 and the second sidewall 53 form cooperatively a closed section; the closed section is divided into smaller rectangular carrying sections by the transverse inner wall 54 and the lengthwise inner wall 55. Each carrying section can receive an electrical connector therein. Referring to FIG. 2, a carrying section 56 is formed cooperatively by the first sidewall, the second sidewall 53, the transverse inner wall 54 and the lengthwise inner wall 55. The transverse inner wall 54 defines a first opening 541 on adjacent to a junction with lengthwise inner wall 55. Also, each carrying section defines a second opening 531 adjacent to the lengthwise inner wall 55, wherein the size of the second opening 531 and the first opening 541 can be adjusted in accordance with the size of the bent portion of the lever mounted on the electrical connector. When the electrical connector brackets 5 received the electrical connectors therein are stacked up, each carrying section of the electrical connector bracket receiving the electrical connector or not can be seen by the second opening 531 from outside. Referring to FIG. 2, it is an isometric view of the two electrical connector brackets 5 stacked up. Turing to FIG. 3, the electrical connector received in the carrying section as described in FIG. 2 can be seen from the second opening 531 defined on the second sidewall.
