Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- This invention relates to a DIY combining method for straws, particularly to one including a step of preparing plural bent straws, a step of cutting them into connect tubes of various lengths, a step of boring holes at proper locations on the connect straws, a step of combining them into various decorative things by inserting. The DIY combining method enables things to be assembled quickly and conveniently, for stimulating creativity of children and elevating their interests.
- 2. Description of the Prior Art
- Most straws are discarded after used, and they are often used for combining to make DIY decorative things of various shapes and forms by means of inserting and gluing, which is rather complicated and not so suitable for children to follow. If straws are to be used as teaching material to develop thinking and creativity, this conventional method is not easy to learn.
- This invention has been devised to offer a DIY combining method for straws to assembling them into things of various shapes, for stimulating children in thinking and creativity, possible to be employed by schools for teaching pupils.
- The feature of the invention has the following steps.
- (a). A first step of cutting bent straws into connect tubes of various lengths.
- (b) A second step of boring a hole or holes on the connect tubes.
- (c). A third step of bending the bent corner of the connect tubes in a necessary angle.
- (d). A fourth step of combining the connect tubes into a thing by means of inserting.
- This invention will be better understood by referring to the accompanying drawings, wherein:
-
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of straws to be used in DIY combining method in the present invention; -
FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the straws respectively bored with a hole in the present invention; -
FIG. 3 is a perspective view of a bent straw used a DIY combining method in the present invention; -
FIG. 4 is a perspective view of a seat frame of a chair combined with front feet in the DIY combining method in the present invention; -
FIG. 5 is a perspective view of a seat for a chair combined with straws in the DIY combining method the present invention; -
FIG. 6 is a perspective view of a seat for a chair combined with rear feet in the DIY combining method in the present invention; -
FIG. 7 is a perspective view of a chair constituted with straws according to the DIY combining method in the present invention; -
FIG. 8 is a perspective view of the chair inFIG. 7 added with an English alphabet in the present invention; and, -
FIG. 9 is a perspective view of the chair inFIG. 7 added with an English word in the present invention. - A DIY combining method for straws uses tools such as a hole puncher, a pair of scissors and a ruler, and plural used bent straws. The DIY method includes a first step of measuring and cutting the length of straws to be used as shown in
FIG. 1 , and a second step of is to bore a hole or holes properly on each straw as shown inFIG. 2 . - Next, a third step is to bend the bent corner of the bent connect tubes to a necessary angle. A fourth step is to combine the straws as shown in FIGS. 3 to 7. Firstly, two
connect tubes 10 of bent straws with the right angle corner have their oneend 100 connected by inserting with each other to form aU-shaped chair frame 1 as shown inFIG. 4 . Then other two connectstraight straws 20 having ahole 200 at one end are combined with theside tubes 101 of thechair frame 1, with theside tubes 101 of eachbent connect tube 10 extending through thehole 200 of eachconnect tube 20, which is shifted to the bent corner of thebent tube 10. Then theseveral connect tubes 30 with ahole 300 are inserted in the twoside tubes 101 of the twobent tubes 10, with the holes 330 fitted through by the twoside tubes 101, located closely with one another to form aseat 3 as shown inFIG. 5 . Then other twoconnect tubes 40 with ahole 400 are respectively combined upright with eachside tubes 101 of theframe 1 as rear feet as shown inFIG. 6 . After that, aconnect tube 50 with twoholes 500 spaced apart are combined horizontally with an upper portion the tworear feet 4 to serve as abackrest 5 of the chair as shown inFIG. 7 . In addition, alateral connect tube 60 is respectively combined with onefront foot 2 and onerear foot 4 at the same side, keeping the fourfeet - As this DIY combining method can enable a child to assemble a chair with quickness and simplicity, providing opportunity for a child to think and create so as to stimulate growth of the brain and agility of the hands, and elevating learning interest.
- Moreover, the present educational system has regulated to teach English to pupils in the elementary schools, so children can spell English alphabets in a
thing 8 assembled with discarded straws, such as shown inFIGS. 8 and 9 , acquiring learning effect by assembling it, and further assembling various things with their imagination unlimited, such as a chair, a bed, a chest of drawers, a pet cage, a collapsible table for a chess board, a tent, etc. to name some. So the invention can excite creative potential of children, who can obtain substantial feeling of achievement, with the combined products provided with high value of collection. - The invention has the following advantages as can be seen from the foresaid description.
-
- 1. Its combining process is simple and quick, including cutting, hole boring, and combining.
- 2. Its combining process can stimulate children in thinking and creating.
- 3. It offers interesting assemblage, elevating children's learning interest, attaining excellent teaching effectiveness.
- 4. It costs very low, recycling used straws, having environment protecting meaning, suitable for schools to use as teaching means.
- While the preferred embodiment of the invention has been 25 described above, it will be recognized and understood that various modifications may be made therein and the appended claims are intended to cover all such modifications that may fall within the spirit and scope of the invention.
