- the present invention concerns the Abs Device for use in physical training, more particularly the conditioning and strengthening of the abdominal region of the human body.
- This device provides a method of exercising the abdominal muscles as well as methods to assist the exerciser in all abdominal strengthening exercising and positions by the use of an adjustable platform, an adjustable seat and cables.
- the cables on this devise may also be adjustable and will have a method of increasing tension so as to provide various simulated weight variations.
- the abdominal area of the body is a difficult region of the body to sculpt and condition. This devise will aid in the conditioning, sculpting and strengthening of this particular region. All embodiments of this device will aid the exerciser in targeting specific abdominal muscles and train them to respond to various exercising positions.
- the device will work as follows; the exerciser is to adjust the devise to fit his or her body by length on platform and height on seat. Then the cable is adjusted according to the length of the platform. The desired tension is then adjusted by use of springs or rubber couplets.
- the exerciser will be seated on device, place ankles under the foot bar and perform one half of a sit up while reaching back to grasp cable. After cable is grasped securely exerciser will begin doing sit ups while rotating arms forward and pulling cables to engage the tension cables to restrict the abdominal muscles for conditioning, sculpting and strengthening. By simply changing positioning of the body on the seat other abdominal muscles can be engaged, thus also conditioning, sculpting and strengthening these muscles as well.

Abstract
The Abs Device is designed to be a comfortable exercise apparatus. The apparatus is also designed to allow for independent and separate exercising of the upper and lower abdominal muscles, respectively. With the ability to interchange tension strength, and an angled seat and guided cable system this apparatus is ideal for a maximum abdominal exercise routine.
Description
- The present invention concerns the Abs Device for use in physical training, more particularly the conditioning and strengthening of the abdominal region of the human body. This device provides a method of exercising the abdominal muscles as well as methods to assist the exerciser in all abdominal strengthening exercising and positions by the use of an adjustable platform, an adjustable seat and cables. The cables on this devise may also be adjustable and will have a method of increasing tension so as to provide various simulated weight variations.
- The abdominal area of the body is a difficult region of the body to sculpt and condition. This devise will aid in the conditioning, sculpting and strengthening of this particular region. All embodiments of this device will aid the exerciser in targeting specific abdominal muscles and train them to respond to various exercising positions.
- These various exercising potions will be made possible by use of an adjusting platform, an adjusting seat and adjusting cables with the capability of changing strength tension by use of, but not limited to, springs and rubber tension couplets.
- The device will work as follows; the exerciser is to adjust the devise to fit his or her body by length on platform and height on seat. Then the cable is adjusted according to the length of the platform. The desired tension is then adjusted by use of springs or rubber couplets. The exerciser will be seated on device, place ankles under the foot bar and perform one half of a sit up while reaching back to grasp cable. During the use of this device it is important to note that the apparatus has two sets of cables. An upper set located just below the set and a rear set located on the rear T. The purpose of the two sets of cables are to allow for individual workout of the upper and lower abdominal muscles. The cables make it possible to concentrate on the upper and lower sections of the “abs” by front or rear cables.

- The above mentioned are examples of prior related art. Abdominal devices that are designed to assist an exerciser in the physical training of the abdominal muscles. While these devices provide excellent services in physically training the abdominal region, they do not allow the mobility to target individual abdominal muscles a does the Abs Device.
- The present invention provides the ability to target individual abdominal muscle by means of increased or decreased tension as well as by simply moving or adjusting the body.
- The present invention pertains to an exercise device for conditioning, sculpting and strengthening the abdominal muscles of an exerciser's body. This summation is not intended to minimize the Abs Device in any way, it is an attempt to describe the components of the invention and to provide an understanding of the workings of this device.
- The device is comprised of two T-bars, a forward T, and a rear T. These two T's are joined to form the adjustable platform. A seat is affixed to the forward T, that is adjustable above the foot bar to allow for leg length. The adjustable joined T's allow for various torso variations. All of the adjustable settings are secured by means of the insertion of an insurable pin perpendicular to the fitting. Located under the seat and on the bar are rings to affix the Tension Springs or the Rubber Couplets, the rings will allow for lengthening or shortening the cable which is attached to an opposite end of the Tension Spring or Rubber Couplets. The seat cables run parallel to the seat bar guided to ensure smooth continuous movement throughout exercise repetitions. Likewise, the torso cables run parallel to the adjoining T's—forward and rear—cables are guided to ensure smooth continuous movement throughout exercise repetitions. The tension cables have a handle at the opposite end, while the exerciser uses the seat cables the lower region of the abdominal muscles are engaged and while the exerciser uses the cables that runs the length of the Ts, the upper portion of the abdominal muscles are engaged. So the exerciser does not fall off the seat an ankle support or foot stopper is affixed to the non-adjustable part of the seat bar. And a working or engaging description of the Abs Device is as follows: an exerciser sits on the invention and test for correct length and height of apparatus. If length and height needs adjustment it is done now. After proper adjustment, the exerciser will decide to engage first the lower or upper section of the abdominal muscles and will use the seat cables or the T cables, respectively, according to desired muscle engagement. The exerciser will grasp cable and begin to do sit ups while using biceps and or deltoids to add resistance throughout exercise routine. It must also be pointed out that the springs and or rubber couplets are inner changeable to allow for added or subtracted tension to impose more or less resistance.
