Description

    FIELD OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to an improved support base of a shampoo basin, more particularly to a support base that provides an elastic comfort to support our neck and head when we shampoo our hair.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • After the related industry has designed a reclined shampoo chair to allow users to fully enjoy the comfort when they shampoo their hair, a design is aimed at trying different ways of giving better comfort on resting our head in the shampoo basin. When a user is having a shampoo, the user can lie with face up and lean the head on the headrest, so that the user can relax the abdomen, and thus providing a relaxing and comfortable position for the user having a shampoo.
  • The prior-art shampoo basin assembly as disclosed in the R.O.C. Patent Publication No. 113548 entitled “Improved shampoo basin assembly” comprises a support base integrally formed at the front side of a shampoo basin, so that a user can rest his/her head on the support base to reduce the pressure on his/her neck and abdomen. Later, another additional R.O.C. Patent Publication No. 209957 entitled “Additional improved shampoo basin assembly” disclosed an independent support base, wherein a sucking disk disposed at the bottom of the support base or a hook is extended from the front end of the support base, so that the support base can be assembled or removed easily.
  • However, the foregoing prior-art patented support bases do not have the elastic or soft features regardless of their fixed or removable structure. As a result, when a user rests on the support base, the user may be injured if his/her head hits on the hard support base by accident or feel very uncomfortable or painful when his/her head presses directly on the hard support base. Therefore, a later designer invented an elastic support base as disclosed in the R.O.C. Patent Publication No. 224206 entitled “Improved shampoo basin assembly”. The measure taken by such prior-art patent to make the support base with resilience by adding a compressed spring at the bottom of the support base, so that the resilience exists between the support base and the shampoo basin. However, such patented technology has a shortcoming caused by the structure of its compressed spring, since the support base has to be fixed onto the shampoo basin and cannot be removed at will, and the spring may be rusted easily and may loose its resilience. Such patented technology still requires further improvements.
  • A series of improvements including the R.O.C. Patent Publication No. 314729 entitled “Improved ceramic support base assembly” issued to the present inventor in 1997 have been made thereafter. The R.O.C. Patent Publication No. 314729 disclosed an improved support base that comprises a positioning groove disposed at the top of a base body, a cushion and four latch grooves disposed at the four sides of the positioning groove, thereby the base body, cushion and support member can be stacked in different ways to adjust the height. However, the foregoing patent can overcome the uncomfortable issue by adding a soft cushion on the support base. Such arrangement not only makes the structure more complicated, but also cannot solve the long existing problems of the prior-art support base.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The primary objective of the present invention is to provide an improved support base of a shampoo basin, so that the user's neck and head can rest on an elastic comfortable support base. In order to have such comfortable support base design, the support base comprises a saddle section and a support section, wherein the saddle section has a latch groove for being latched onto the edge of the shampoo basin, and a plurality of gaps disposed on the surface of the latch groove, and the interior of the support section being an evacuated space. With the design of the gap and evacuated space, a comfortable elasticity will be produced when a user rests his/her head on the support base.
  • Another objective of the present invention is to fix the support base by latching the saddle section onto the shampoo basin and the sucking disk at the bottom of the support base. Such arrangement allows users to install or remove the support base easily and quickly.
  • To make it easier for our examiner to understand the objective of the invention, its structure, innovative features, and performance, we use a preferred embodiment and the attached drawings for the detailed description of the invention.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the support base according to the present invention.
  • FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the bottom of the support base according to the present invention.
  • FIG. 3 is an illustrative view of the application of the support base being installed to the shampoo basin according to the present invention.

  • FIG. 6 is a view of the internal structure of the support base being coupled with the sucking disk according to the present invention.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
  • Please refer to FIGS. 1 and 2 for the improved support base of a shampoo basin being installed to the shampoo basin according to the present invention. The invention comprises a support base 10 made of a silicon gel material, and thus has a special softness and elasticity and meets the comfort requirement when being touched by a human body. The support base 10 already has a certain elasticity to support the user's head since it is made of a silicon gel material. To further comply with the ergonomic requirements for pursuing a comfortable design, the interior of the support base 10 made of a silicon gel material is evacuated to provide a more comfortable elasticity. The support base 10 comprises a saddle section 11 and a support section 12; wherein the saddle section 11 is in the shape of a curved hook and defines a curved surface 111 thereon for allowing the rest of our neck; and the support section 12 is in a protruded cylindrical shape and defines an aslant surface 13 on one end surface, and the support section 12 is primarily for supporting our head. Viewing from the bottom of the support base 10, we can see that the saddle section 11 has a latch groove 14 for latching and being fixed onto the edge of the shampoo basin 30 (referring to FIG. 3), and the surface of the latch groove 14 has a plurality of gaps 15. By means of the gaps 15, the original elasticity of the silicon gel material is changed, so that the curved surface 111 of the saddle section 11 can produce a better and more comfortable elasticity to support our neck when we rest our neck on the support base 10. The interior of the support section 12 is an evacuated space 16. Similarly, with the design of such space 16, the original elasticity of the silicon gel material is changed, so that a comfortable elasticity will be produced when our head rests on the support base 10. Such arrangement supports the user's neck and head with an elastic and soft support section 12. Furthermore, a sucking disk 20 having two protruded ears 21 is disposed between the saddle section 11 and the support section 12 for being sucked and fixed onto the shampoo basin 30. If we pull the protruded ear 21 out to let air come in, the sucking disk 20 will detach from the shampoo basin 30 easily.
  • Since the support base 10 is installed to the shampoo basin 30, the surface of the support base 10 is preferably flat and smooth to prevent the hair being pulled by the support base 10 when the user is having a shampoo. Therefore, the connection between the sucking disk 20 and the support base 10 should be kept flat and smooth without any protrusion. Please refer to FIG. 6 for the connection between the sucking disk 20 and the support base 10. The sucking disk 20 has a connecting end 22 protruded from one end, and the connecting end 22 has an accommodating groove 23 therein. The sucking disc 20 is coupled with the support base 10 by the connecting end 22. Since the diameter of the accommodating groove 23 is slightly larger than the diameter of a connecting axle 24, the connecting end 22 and the support base 10 are pressed tightly, so that the surface of the support base 10 is kept smooth, and the connecting axle 24 made of metal gives sufficient support for the support base 10 being fixed onto the shampoo basin 30.
  • Please refer to FIG. 3 again for the practical use of a shampoo basin 30 according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention. The support base 10 latches into a curved opening 31 of the shampoo basin 30 by the latch groove 14 of the saddle section 11, and fixes into a position by the sucking disk 20 at the bottom, so that the support base 10 can attach onto the surface of the shampoo basin 30 to give the effects of installing or removing the support base 10 quickly according to the present invention. For users with long hair who rinse their skull at the position close to the neck, the support base 10 can be removed easily and quickly. The support base 10 can be installed immediately after the rinse is completed. Such arrangement facilitates the user's operation.
  • Please refer to FIG. 4 again for the invention. If a user lies on the shampoo chair, the user's head rests on the support base 10 as shown in FIG. 4. The head rests on the support section 12 of the support base 10, and the neck presses on the curved surface 111 of the saddle section 11. Therefore, the design of the support base 10 allows the head and neck to be supported by the evacuated space 16 and the gaps 15 respectively, which strengths the softness and elasticity at the two positions for the support, so that the support section 12 and the saddle section 11 can produce the most comfortable curvature when the user's body rests on these sections 11, 12 as shown in FIGS. 5A and SB. The aslant surface 13 of the support section 12 produces an elastic deformation according to the pressure from the head, and the curved surface 111 of the saddle section 11 also produces a change to the curvature according to the pressure from the neck. The user can have the most comfortable lying position to avoid the risk of pressing the blood vessels at the neck if the elasticity is insufficient or the supporting curvature does not fit the user.
  • While the invention has been described by way of example and in terms of a preferred embodiment, it is to be understood that the invention is not limited thereto. To the contrary, it is intended to cover various modifications and similar arrangements and procedures, and the scope of the appended claims therefore should be accorded the broadest interpretation so as to encompass all such modifications and similar arrangements and procedures.
