Abstract

The invention provides a neck wallet allowing the wearer to transport securely currency and documents in a theft free manner. The wallet comprises a security sleeve along with several inner compartments in varying sizes to allow the wearer to place money, credit cards, passports and currency.

CROSS REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS

This application is a continuation-in-part of U.S. patent application Ser. No. 10/410,678 filed Apr. 9, 2003

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The invention relates to an apparatus the secure wallet. More particularly, to a secure wallet for carrying money, passports, and credit cards. The wallet constructed with a hardened strap and a security sleeve.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Heightened security concerns have increased the need for both domestic and international; travelers to display identification frequently. Consequently, airports are reporting a record number of lost personal effects. Theft of identification documents, credit cards, and money is an on-going problem not necessarily associated with travel.
Issues of theft and the carrying of valuables have been addressed by neck wallets and security belts. As shown in U.S. Pat. No. 4,570,688 issued to Williams shows a neck wallet having a suspension system. However, the wallet lack a means to prevent the removal of the valuables by theft nor does it show or teach a means to prevent the strap from being cut for the wearer's neck.
U.S. Pat. No. 5,388,739 issued to Gargan shows a commuter ticket holder designed to be suspended from the neck. This also fails to address the probability of the strap being cut from the neck nor provide a means to shield the wearer from the contents being removed by a thief Additionally, it does not show any storage for other documents, such as passport, airline ticket, money, or credit cards.
U.S. Pat. No. D380,606 issued to Chen discloses a bi-fold neck wallet with a zipper closure. This design is easily compromised by theft by either cutting the strap or removing the contents by unzipping the zipper and removing the contents. The present invention overcomes the limitations of the above referenced prior art by providing a secure wallet having a strap that cannot be cut by conventional means. In addition, a secure sleeve I is provided in tandem with the strap that prevents a thief from removing documents or currency without the knowledge of the wearer.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The invention provides an apparatus for the secure transport of currency and documents comprising a strap attached to a wallet, and a security sleeve slidably attached to the strap and adapted to fit over the wallet.
The present invention provides a neck wallet allowing the wearer to transport securely currency and documents in a theft free manner. The wallet comprises several compartments in varying sizes to allow the wearer to place money, credit cards, passports and currency. A sleeve is engaged with the strap allowing it to slide to an open position only when the wearer removes it from their body. The wearer then must slide the sleeve to a closed position before replacing the secure wallet around the wearer's neck.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Referring to FIG. 1, the secure wallet 1 consists of a security sleeve 2 slidably attached to the strap 3. Openings 4 allow the security sleeve 2 to slide along the strap 3, to an open and closed position.
FIGS. 2 and 3 shows the secure wallet 1 in an opened position. The sleeve 2 is cow-bell shaped and moved up along the strap 3 revealing a bi-fold inner carryall 5. In this embodiment a flap 6 folds over the interior compartments of the carryall 5. The carryall has three sections (6, 9, and 10). The flap 6 has slots 7 allowing credit cards to be inserted. The middle section 9 has a compartment 8 that allows the placement of a passport and other valuables. The bottom section 10 has a see through window 11. This window 11 allows an identification card or driver's license to be viewed without its removal.

Preferred Embodiment

In the preferred embodiment, as shown in FIG. 4 the secure wallet 12 is in an opened position with the security sleeve 13 moved up along the strap 14 cutaways 15 reveal the strap 14 attached to the inner compartment 17 the inner core of the strap 14 consisting of either airplane wire, steel cable, and the like. The strap 14 is attached to the inner compartment 17 either with rivets, a resin, or some other suitable attachment means. In this embodiment rivets 19 attach the strap to the inner compartment 17. The foldable flap 16 has slots 20 for holding credit cards. A compartment 21 allows papers, passports and currency to be placed within the inner compartment 17. An identification window 22 is provided in the compartment 22. In the closed position (not shown) the foldable flap 16 is folded over the compartment 21 and the security sleeve 13 slides over the inner compartment 17 completely shielding the inner compartment 17 from view.
As shown in FIG. 5 the security sleeve 13 covers the inner compartment 17. The bottom of the security sleeve 13 is open 23 however a theft cannot obtain access to the contents of the inner compartment 17 without the wearer's knowledge.
The invention has been described in detail with particular reference to certain preferred embodiments thereof, but it will be understood that variations and modifications can be effected within the spirit and scope of the invention.

Claims

1. A secure wallet comprising;

a strap having two ends;

a sleeve slidably attached to the strap; and

an inner carryall attached to the two ends of the strap

2. The secure wallet as recited in claim 1 wherein said inner carryall further comprises a foldable flap.

3. The secure wallet as recited in claim 1 wherein said strap has an inner core and outer covering.

4. The secure wallet as recited in claim 1 wherein said inner core is airplane wire.

5. A secure carryall comprising;

A secure strap having two ends and an inner core attached to an inner compartment at each end; and

A sleeve slidably attached to the strap and adapted to move to an open and close position.

6. The secure carryall as recited in claim 5 wherein said inner compartment further comprises a foldable flap, and said inner compartment has at least three sections, the first section having a multiple slots, the second section having a large pocket and the third section having a see-through window.

7. The secure carryall as recited in claim 5 wherein said inner core consisting of airplane wire.

8. The secure carryall as recited in claim 5 wherein said inner core consisting of a steel cable.

9. The secure carryall as recited in claim 5 wherein said sleeve further comprising openings wherein said strap passes through.

10. The secure carryall as recited in claim 5 wherein said sleeve is cow-bell shaped.

11. A theft proof wallet comprising:

a steel cable having two ends;

a security sleeve slidably attached to the steel cable, said security sleeve having openings wherein said cable passes through; and

an inner carryall attached to the two ends of the cable, said inner carryall further comprising a foldable flap, at least three sections, the first section having a multiple slots, the second section having a large pocket and the third section having a see-through window.
