Abstract
A snow thrower including a rotating arched wall on which is disposed a gear wheel operated by a motor making fall downwards the arched wall in moving forward or in the opposite direction for clearing snow by pushing it inside the opening of the rotating arched wall until that the snow is catched by an unidirectional endless screw that propels the snow towards a fan for blowing it through a discharge chute.
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- This invention relates to snow throwers and, more particularly, to a snow thrower attached to a vehicle, and which including a rotating arched wall for scraping and blowing snow in moving forward or in the opposite direction.
- 2. Description of the Related Art
- A search of prior art records has unveiled the following patents:
- 1. U.S. Pat. No. 6,499,237 issued in 2002 to Johnson; and
- 2. U.S. Pat. No. 5,893,224 issued in 1999 to Harrington and al.
- It is a principal object of this invention therefore to provide a snow thrower with a rotating arched wall for scraping and blowing snow in moving forward or in the opposite direction.
- A snow thrower according this invention having a rotating arched wall on which is disposed a gear wheel operated by a motor making fall downwards the arched wall in moving forward or in the opposite direction for clearing snow by pushing it inside the opening of the rotating arched wall until that the snow is catched by an unidirectional endless screw that propels the snow towards a fan for blowing it through a discharge chute.

- Referring to the drawings, and more particularly to FIGS. 1 to 4, a snow thrower attached to a vehicle (not shown) generally indicated as (A) including a plurality of bars (33) mounted to each side portion (8) and (13) which can be also assembled in the opposite direction.
- Each side portion (8) and (13) has removable plates (9) that can be pulled out for making the maintenance of the driving system of the snow thrower.
- Each skid shoe (12) is mounted under each side portion (8) and (13) of the snow thrower for scraping and pushing snow inside the opening of the rotating arched wall (1) in moving forward or in the opposite direction.
- A supporting structure (32) is approximately fixed in middle of each bar (33).
- A bracket (38) is fixed to each fastening piece (35) located on a bar (33), and connected to a bar (36) which is fixed to each fastening piece (34) located on a second bar (33).
- A connecting part (37) is fixed to a junction differential (26) and to PTO of the vehicle (not shown).
- A second junction differential (26) is connected to a drive rod (27) which is assembled to each component (28)(29)(10)(30)(31)(24)(25)(23) and (10), and which are engaged and fixed to side portion (8) of the snow thrower.
- A rotating arched wall (1) is disposed inside the structure of the snow thrower having sides portion (8) and (13) which are interconnected to each side (2) of the rotating arched wall (1) having each an opening for engaging a drive shaft (20) that is mounted inside hollow tube of the unidirectional endless screw (19).
- Each interchangeable blade (5) and (6) permitting to scrape in moving forward or in the opposite direction, are connected to each plate (3) fixed to rotating arched wall (1) and to each side (2) mounted to rotating arched wall (1).
- Each component (10)(21) and (22) is assembled to drive shaft (20) that is engaged and fixed inside side portion (8) of the snow thrower, and which is also connected to a fan (18) which is engaged and fixed inside side portion (13) that is assembled by an interconnecting part (14) to the chute (16) provided with a deflector (17).
- A motor (15) makes activate the discharge chute assembled to side portion (13) by the interconnecting part (14) for permitting the discharge chute to change orientation.
- A snow thrower including a rotating arched wall (1) on which is disposed a gear wheel (4) operated by a motor (7) making fall downwards the arched wall (1) in moving forward or in the opposite direction for clearing snow by pushing it inside the opening of the rotating arched wall (1) until that the snow is catched by an unidirectional endless screw (19) that propels the snow towards a fan (18) for blowing it through a discharge chute.
- Although only a single embodiment of the present invention has been described and illustrated, the present invention is not limited to the features of this embodiment, but includes all variations and modifications within the scope of claims.
Claims (4)
1. A snow thrower that is attached to a vehicle, said snow thrower including a plurality of bars (33) mounted to each side portion (8) and (13) which can be also assembled in the opposite direction,
each side portion (8) and (13) has removable plates (9) that can be pulled out for making the maintenance of the driving system of the snow thrower,
each skid shoe (12) is mounted under each side portion (8) and (13) of the snow thrower for scraping and pushing snow inside the opening of a rotating arched wall (1) in moving forward or in the opposite direction,
a supporting structure (32) is approximately fixed in middle of each bar (33),
a bracket (38) is fixed to each fastening piece (35) located on a bar (33), and connected to a bar (36) which is fixed to each fastening piece (34) located on a second bar (33),
a connecting part (37) is fixed to a junction differential (26) and to PTO of the vehicle,
a second junction differential (26) is connected to a drive rod (27) which is assembled to each component (28)(29)(10)(30)(31)(24)(25)(23) and (10), which are engaged and fixed to side portion (8) of the snow thrower.

The rotating arched wall (1) is disposed inside the structure of the snow thrower having two sides portion (8) and (13) which are interconnected to each side (2) of said rotating arched wall (1) having each an opening for engaging a drive shaft (20) that is mounted inside hollow tube of an unidirectional endless screw (19), each interchangeable blade (5) and (6) permitting to scrape in moving forward or in the opposite direction, are connected to each plate (3) fixed to said rotating arched wall (1) and to each side (2) mounted to said rotating arched wall (1).
3. Each component (10)(21) and (22) is assembled to drive shaft (20) that is engaged and fixed inside side portion (8) of the snow thrower, and which is also connected to a fan (18) which is engaged and fixed inside side portion (13) that is assembled by an interconnecting part (14) to the discharge chute,
a motor (15) makes activate the discharge chute assembled to said side portion (13) by said interconnecting part (14) permitting the discharge chute to change orientation.
4. A snow thrower including a rotating arched wall (1) on which is disposed a gear wheel (4) operated by a motor (7) making fall downwards said arched wall (1) in moving forward or in the opposite direction for clearing snow by pushing it inside the opening of the rotating arched wall (1) until that the snow is catched by said unidirectional endless screw (19) that propels the snow towards a fan (18) for blowing it through a discharge chute.
