Abstract
A cooling apparatus for a light valve of the present invention includes a control box disposed on the back of the light valve to actuate the light valve, followed by a heat pipe and a heat-conducting component pasted upon the inner surface of the control box. The heat-conducting component is connected to a heat-collecting end of the heat pipe and one of its surface contacts with the light valve. The heat of the light valve is conducted to the second part of the control box through the heat-conducting component, and then the heat is conducted to the second part of the control box via the heat pipe pasted upon it. Thus, the heat of the light valve can be removed through the large area of the second part of control box, so as to increase the cooling efficiency and simplify the cooling apparatus.
Description
- The present invention relates to a cooling apparatus, and more particularly, to a cooling apparatus for a light valve.
- In a projection apparatus, a lighting system projects a light beam on a light valve. After a light modulation process by the light valve, an image is projected on a screen through a projection lens. However, since the light beam is unceasingly projected on the light valve, it accumulates heat on the light valve that affects operation efficiency thereof. Therefore, a suitable cooling apparatus for the light valve is needed.
- Please refer to
FIG. 1 andFIG. 2 , there is acontrol box 2 connected to the back of alight valve 1. Inside thecontrol box 2 is equipped with an electrical circuit board 3 to actuate thelight valve 1. By the installment of the control box, the goal of preventing the production of electromagnetic wave interference can be achieved. There is an opening 4 disposed on thecontrol box 2, and there is afan 5 on thelight valve 1. Thefan 5 is setup on thecontrol box 2 through the opening 4. By the operation offan 5, heat is forced to be taken away from thelight valve 1 for cooling. However, the noise caused by the operation of thefan 5 is easily spread out from the vent of the projection apparatus, which affects the audio feeling. The lifetime of thefan 5 is short and it needs replacement quite often. In addition, it has certain volume, which affects the space allocation and increases the volume of the cooling apparatus. Therefore, there are conventional problems of noise, short lifetime and large volume for the cooling apparatus by using a fan and more improvements are needed. - One object of the present invention is to provide a cooling apparatus of a light valve, by directly pasting a heat pipe and a heat-conducting component upon a control box and taking the advantage of the large surface of the control box to diffuse the heat, and to achieve the goal of simplifying the cooling apparatus and increasing the cooling efficiency.
- In order to achieve the objectives mentioned above, the cooling apparatus for a light valve according to the present invention is to set up a control box on the back of a light valve in order to actuate the light valve, followed by pasting a heat pipe and a heat-conducting component upon the inner surface of the control box. The heat-conducting component is connected to a heat-collecting end of the heat pipe and the surface of the heat-conducting component contacts with the light valve.
- The heat of the light valve is conducted to the second part of the control box through the heat-conducting component, and then the heat is conducted to the second part of the control box via the heat pipe pasted upon it. Thus, the heat of the light valve can be removed away through the large area of the second part of control box, so as to increase the cooling efficiency and simplify the cooling apparatus.
