Abstract
A multi-function rocking chair includes a main body, and a base. The main body includes a seat and a main support. The seat is separably fitted onto the main support so that the chair can be dismantled to occupy less space for storage. Two curved members are joined to a lower section of the main support. The base includes two parallel rails, each of which has a guide trench lengthwise formed on the upper side. Lowermost curved portions of the curved members are disposed in a respective one of the guide trenches so that the main body can be made to rock while it doesn't directly come into contact with the ground.
Description
- The present invention relates to a rocking chair, and more particularly a rocking chair, which can be used on soft grounds such as sandy beaches, and which can be easily dismantled to occupy less space for storage and transportation, and easily put together for use.
- Babies will feel very comfortable when rocked in a cradle or in the arms of a parent. Similarly, rocking movement of rocking chairs can help people feel physically relaxed and satisfied. Typical conventional rocking chairs include four support legs, a seat, a back support, and two parallel curved bases, which are each disposed at the lower ends of two corresponding ones of tile legs. Thus, tile rocking chairs can rock to help the sitters fall asleep and provide them with comfort.
- However, it is found that such rocking chairs have disadvantages as followings:
- 1. When it is used on a land having a relatively soft surface such as a sandy beach, the curved bases are likely to sink into the surface of the land due to the weight of itself and the sitter. Consequently, the chair can't be rocked smoothly.
- 2. All of the parts of the rocking chairs are firmly joined together so that they can't be separated from each other. Consequently, the rocking chairs can't be dismantled to occupy less space when the users or the manufacturers have to store or transport the same.
- Therefore, it is a main object of the present invention to provide a rocking chair, which can be used on soft grounds such as sandy beaches.
- It is another object of the present invention to provide a rocking chair, which can be easily dismantled to occupy less space for allowing easier storage and transportation.
- The present rocking chair includes a main body, and a base. The main body includes a seat and a main support, onto which the seat is separably fitted. Two curved members are disposed at the lower portion of the main support. The base includes two parallel rails, each of which has a guide trench lengthwise formed thereon. The curved members are disposed on a respective one of the guide trenches so that the main body can rock even though the present chair is being used on a soft land.
- The present invention will be better understood by reference to the accompanying drawings, wherein:
- FIG. 1 is a side view of the rocking chair of the present invention.
- FIG. 2 is a fragmentary exploded perspective view of the rocking chair of the present invention.
- FIG. 3 is a partial cross-sectional view of the rocking chair of the present invention.
- FIG. 4 is another partial cross-sectional view of the rocking chair of the present invention.
- FIG. 5 is a partial cross-sectional view of the base of the rocking chair of the present invention.
