Description
- The present invention relates to fake-proof packaging devices, and more particularly, to a packaging device with a fake-proof adhesive tape for sealing an open end of the packaging device.
- A conventional packaging device such as a bag or envelope for express delivery, as shown in FIG. 1, includes a
body 10′, acover 11′ integrally formed with thebody 10′ for sealing anopen end 100 of thebody 10′, a twinadhesive tape 12 attached to an inner surface of thecover 11′, and asealing tape 13 smaller in width than the twinadhesive tape 12 and adhered to thebody 10′ at a position to be coupled to thecover 11′. A non-adhesive film (not shown) is normally provided on the twinadhesive tape 12 andsealing tape 13 respectively; when it is ready to seal theopen end 100 of thebody 10′, the non-adhesive films are removed from the twinadhesive tape 12 andsealing tape 13, allowing the twinadhesive tape 12 to be coupled to thesealing tape 13 for sealing theopen end 100 of thebody 10′ by thecover 11′. - However, in the case of confidential documents being delivered, the above packaging device fails to provide a security or fake-proof effect. In other words if a person other than a designate receiver opens the packaging device, he or she can easily re-seal the
open end 100 of thebody 10′ by means of the twinadhesive tape 12 andsealing tape 13 with no indication showing the unauthorized opening of the packaging device - A primary objective of the present invention is to provide a packaging device with a fake-proof adhesive tape for sealing an open end of the packaging device, whereby if a person other than a designate receiver forcibly opens the packaging device, the fake-proof adhesive tape is split apart with a substrate thereof being peeled away from the rest of the fake-proof adhesive tape, making warning marks embedded in the adhesive tape exposed and indicate the unauthorized opening of packaging device; once the fake-proof adhesive tape is peeled apart, it fails to restore adherence between the substrate and the rest of the fake-proof adhesive tape, making the packaging device unable to be re-sealed, such that the packaging device can desirably achieve both security and fake-proof effects.
- In accordance with the foregoing and other objectives, the present invention provides a packaging device with a fake-proof adhesive tape, comprising: a body, a cover connected to the body for sealing an open end of the body, and the fake-proof adhesive tape for adhering the cover to the body. The fake-proof adhesive tape is composed of a substrate having a first surface and a second surface; a mark layer made of an adherent material and applied on part of the second surface of the substrate; a colored layer made of colored inks, and applied over the mark layer and part of the second surface of the substrate uncovered by the mark layer; a viscous film attached to the colored layer; a first adhesive layer applied over the first surface of the substrate; and a second adhesive layer formed on the viscous film; wherein adhesion between the colored layer and mark layer is lager than that between the colored layer and viscous film, adhesion between the substrate and mark layer is larger than that between the viscous film and colored layer, and adhesion between the colored layer and substrate is smaller than that between the colored layer and viscous film. The first adhesive layer can be attached to the cover for adhering the fake-proof adhesive tape to the cover, and the second adhesive layer is attached to the body for adhering the fake-proof adhesive tape to the body. Alternatively, the first adhesive layer can be affixed to the body, and the second adhesive layer is affixed to the cover allowing the body to be sealed via the fake-proof adhesive tape by the cover.
- When the fake-proof adhesive tape is peeled apart, the colored layer is split to allow part of the colored layer on the mark layer to remain together with the substrate, and part of colored layer corresponding in position to area on the substrate uncovered by the mark layer to remain attached to the viscous film, making warning marks or patterns formed by the colored layer to show on the substrate and viscous film and indicates unauthorized opening of the packaging device. Moreover, as the viscous layer is not adhesive enough to restore adherence to the substrate once the fake-proof adhesive tape is peeled apart, this allows only one time of sealing between the cover and body of the packaging device, thereby providing security and fake-proof effects.
- The present invention can be more fully understood by reading the following detailed description of the preferred embodiments, with reference made to the accompanying drawings wherein:
- FIG. 1 (PRIOR ART) is a schematic diagram showing an open end of a conventional packaging device;
- FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view of an open end of a packaging device according to the invention;
- FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view of a fake-proof adhesive tape attached to the open end of the packaging device according to the invention;
- FIG. 4 is a cross-sectional view showing a condition during peeling off the fake-proof adhesive tape;
- FIG. 5 is a cross-sectional view showing a condition of the fake-proof adhesive tape after being peeled off;
- FIG. 6 is a schematic diagram a portion of the fake-proof adhesive tape after being peeled off remaining on a cover of the packaging device; and
- FIG. 7 is a schematic diagram of a substrate with the fake-proof adhesive tape being peeled off.
- As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, a packaging device with a fake-proof adhesive tape according to the present invention is composed of a
body 10 and a cover II formed at an upper end of thebody 10 for sealing an open end of thebody 10. A fake-proof adhesive tape is provided at the open end of thecover 11, and consists of a substrate 1 made of a plastic thin layer; a mark layer 2 printed on part of asecond surface 1 b of the substrate 1; acolored layer 3 applied over the mark layer 2 and part of thesecond surface 1 b of the substrate 1 uncovered by the mark layer 2; a transparent or semi-transparentviscous film 4 formed over thecolored layer 3; a secondadhesive layer 5 made of an adhesive applied over theviscous film 4; and a firstadhesive layer 6 made of an adhesive formed over the first surface 1 a of the substrate 1. - The substrate1 is made of a transparent or semi-transparent plastic material, which allows warning marks or patterns formed on the
second surface 1 b of the substrate 1 to be easily observed when the substrate 1 is removed. - The mark layer2 is made of an adhesive resin material similar in color and transparency to the substrate 1, so as to allow warning marks patterns or words to be printed on the
second surface 1 b of the substrate 1 by a conventional printing process. - The
colored layer 3 forms the warning marks patterns or words by using ink of a color that produces considerably strong contrast to the substrate 1 and the mark layer 2. This allows the warning marks or patterns to appear on theviscous film 4 or the substrate 1 when the substrate 1 is detached from the fake-proof adhesive tape after opening or lifting thecover 11 to unseal the open end of thebody 10, so as to inform a designate receiver for the packaging device about unauthorized opening of thebody 10 according to appearance of the warning marks or patterns. Thecolored layer 3 is applied over thesecond surface 1 b of the substrate 1, the mark layer 2 and recessed portions 20 (as shown in FIG. 5) uncovered by the mark layer 2. - The
viscous film 4 is a thin film, allowing part of thecolored layer 3 formed on the mark layer 2 to be retained on a lop surface of theviscous film 4 and show the warning marks and patterns when the substrate 1 is peeled from the fake-proof adhesive tape. The secondadhesive layer 5 is applied on a bottom surface of theviscous film 4 to thereby adhere theviscous film 4 to the open end of thebody 10. - The second
adhesive layer 5 is formed by applying an adhesive over the bottom surface of theviscous film 4, and used to attach the fake-proof adhesive tape to the open end of thebody 10 or the packaging device. - As shown in FIG. 3, the fake-proof adhesive tape is used by cutting a piece of the fake-proof adhesive tape of an appropriate length and attaching the piece to the open end of the
body 10 in a way similar to a conventional adhesive tape. The firstadhesive layer 6 applied on the substrate 10 f the fake-proof adhesive tape is used to adhere the substrate 1 to thecover 11 or to the open end of thebody 10. Preferably, the firstadhesive layer 6 of the fake-proof adhesive tape is attached to the cover 1, and the secondadhesive layer 5 formed over theviscous film 4 is affixed to the open end of thebody 10, making thebody 11 in a condition of being sealed by thecover 11. - Adhesion between component layers of the fake-proof adhesive layer is detailed as follows. Adhesion between the
colored layer 3 and mark layer 2 is larger than that between thecolored layer 3 andviscous film 4. Further, adhesion between the substrate 1 and mark layer 2 is larger than that between theviscous film 4 andcolored layer 3. And, adhesion between thecolored layer 3 and substrate 1 is smaller than that between thecolored layer 3 andviscous layer 4. - As shown in FIG. 4 or5, if the sealed packaging device is forcibly or unauthorizedly opened and the fake-proof adhesive tape is peeled apart, in accordance with the above adhesion correlation between the component layers of the fake-proof adhesive tape, the mark layer 2 and part of the
colored layer 3 adhered to the mark layer 2 would be detached together with the substrate 1 from the fake-proof adhesive tape in accompany with lifting or opening thecover 11 with respect to thebody 10, whereas part of thecolored layer 3 corresponding in position to therecessed portions 20 would remain attached to theviscous film 4 that also keeps adhered to the open end of thebody 10 by means of the secondadhesive layer 5. - Consequently, as shown in FIG. 6, from a view of the
viscous film 4 adhered to the open end of thebody 10, the part of thecolored layer 3 remaining on theviscous film 4 can be observed and shows the warning marks, patterns or words. Therefore, with reveal of the warning marks, patterns or words, it indicates peeling-apart of the fake-proof adhesive tape. On the other hand, as shown in FIG. 7, the part of thecolored layer 3 remaining on the mark layer 2 attached to the substrate 1 allows a complementary pattern of the warning marks or words to appear on thesecond surface 1 b of the substrate 1 with respect to the pattern shown in FIG. 6. - After the fake-proof adhesive tape is peeled apart, although the
viscous film 4 still remains adhered to the open end of thebody 10 via the secondadhesive layer 5, however theviscous film 4 itself is not adhesive enough to restore adherence to the substrate 1; in other words, once the fake-proof adhesive tape is peeled apart, it fails to be re-sealed again which allows only one time of sealing between thebody 10 and thecover 11 and thereby provides security and fake-proof effects. - Besides, the substrate1 may also be made of a colored plastic material, and the mark layer 2 is not particularly limited in respect of its transparency and color. In this case, however, the
colored layer 3 should have a color in contrast to theviscous film 4 for detecting the warning marks or patterns indicating unauthorized opening of the packaging device once the substrate 1 is peeled off from the fake-proof adhesive tape. - The invention has been described using exemplary preferred embodiments. However, it is to be understood that the scope of the invention is not limited to the disclosed embodiments. On the contrary, it is intended to cover various modifications and similar arrangements. The scope of the claims, therefore, should be accorded the broadest interpretation so as to encompass all such modifications and similar arrangements.
