Abstract
A pogo stick primarily includes an adjustable shaft, a handle grip on top of the shaft, and a jumping unit with foot pedals on bottom of the shaft. The device features on that the axis of the shaft and the axis of the jumping unit are not in the same one, parallel to each other so that the handle grip on top of the shaft and the foot pedals of the jumping unit are not on the same plane. When being used, the present invention is more ergonomic, convenient for use and long lasting.
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a pogo stick, more especially to a pogo stick that the handle grip and the foot pedals thereof are not on the same plane so that the shaft and the jumping unit both keep perpendicular to the ground, providing a more smooth ride while jumping. Thus the pogo stick is durable and is used in a long lasting manner.
- 2. Description of the Prior Art
- The conventional pogo sticks, refer to FIG. 5, includes a
shaft 11, ahandle grip 12,foot pedals 13 and ajumping unit 14 arranged on the bottom of thetube 11. Thejumping unit 14 is composed of anexpansion link 141 which contracts around theshaft 11 with aspring 142 surrounding thereof. In accordance with the above structure, thehandle grip 12 and thefoot pedals 13 are fixed on the top end and the bottom end of theshaft 11 and are located on the same plane. However, people tend to bend forwardly for keeping balance when they enjoy jumping the general pogo sticks because the position of hand holding and the foot pedals are on the same plane. The novice is easy to have fear on maintaining proper balance. In addition, users are usually hold the pogo stick away or near from themselves at an angle so that there is also an angle between the force direction of thejumping unit 14 and its movement direction. While jumping, the force and impact on the structure is not vertical so that the lifetime of the pogo stick is reduced. There is still room for improvement. - It is therefore a primary object of the present invention to provide a pogo stick which the foot pedals are not arranged on the same plane with the shaft and the handle grip. There is a distance between the plane with the foot pad thereon and the plane with the shaft and the handle grip thereon. Thus when jumping, the force and impact on the pogo stick is more vertical and the lifetime of the device is prolonged.
- A further object of the present invention is to provide a pogo stick that the jumping unit thereof is air compressed thus not only the manufacturing cost is reduced but also the device is easy folding for compact storage.
- In order to achieve the above-mentioned objects, the present invention features on that the axis of the shaft and the axis of the jumping unit is not on the same one. One is parallel to the other thus the shaft with the handle grip thereabove and the foot pedals on the jumping unit are not on the same plane. In addition, the jumping unit having a air tap on the top of a outer sleeve and a expansion link on the bottom of the outer sleeve. The space inside the outer sleeve is close. By inflation, the jumping unit has anti-compression elasticity.
- The accomplishment of the above-mentioned object of the present invention will become apparent from the following description and its accompanying drawings which disclose illustrative an embodiment of the present invention, and are as follows:
- FIG. 1 is a perspective view of an embodiment of the present invention;
- FIG. 2 is an illustrative drawing showing the folded state of the present invention;
- FIG. 3 is a sectional schematic drawing when the present invention is used;
- FIG. 4 is an assembling view of a jumping unit of the present invention;
- FIG. 5 is a perspective view of a prior art.
- Referring to FIG. 1 & 2, the present invention includes a
foldable shaft 21, handlegrips 22 fixed on the top of thefoldable shaft 21, ajumping unit 23 havingfoot pedals 24 disposed on the bottom of theshaft 21. The device features on that the axis of thefoldable shaft 21 is parallel to that of thejumping unit 23, not the same one. Therefore, thehandle grips 22 on the top of theshaft 21 and thefoot pedals 24 fixed on thejumping unit 23 are not on the same plane. - When being used, as shown in FIG. 3, there is a distance X between the central position of the
foot pedals 24 and the rear of the central position of theshaft 21. The position of thehandle grips 22 is easy for users to hold and stand in vertical position, fitting ergonomics. And thejumping unit 23 can also keep vertical to the ground while jumping. - The above structure also makes the force direction of the
jumping unit 23 is parallel to the direction of reaction so as to make the movement of thejumping unit 23 more smoothly. Consequently, the lifetime of the whole mechanism is extended. - With reference to FIG. 4, the
jumping unit 23 includes anouter sleeve 231, anexpansion link 233 on bottom of theouter sleeve 231, anair tap 232 on top end of theouter sleeve 231, a piston ring installed between the top end of theexpansion link 233 and theouter sleeve 231 for making the inner space closed. Thereafter, add air by using theair tap 232 on top of theouter sleeve 231 so as to produce the anti-compressed elasticity for jumping. After being used, the air inside is released from theouter sleeve 231 so that theexpansion link 233 is inserted into the inner space of theouter sleeve 231. In combination with the foldable anddetachable shaft 21 and thehandle grips 22, the present invention can be folded to compact size for easy transport and storage. Moreover, the air pressure inside theouter sleeve 231 is adjustable according to the weight of users. The pogo stick supports both children and adults. - It should be noted that the above description and accompanying drawings are only used to illustrated some embodiments of the present invention, not intended to limit the scope thereof. Any modification of the embodiments should fall within the scope of the present invention.
