Abstract

A descaling brush has a handle; a plurality of bristles formed on the handle; and fine particles fixed at distal ends of the bristles. The fine particles are made of high hardness and rigidity material such as diamond, CBN, Aluminum Oxide, or Silicon carbide.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention [0001]
  • The present invention is related to a descaling brush, and more particularly to a descaling brush with particles of high hardness and rigidity. [0002]
  • 2. Description of Related Art [0003]
  • Descaling brushes are used for removing rust or dirt, and are very useful on smooth surfaces, but not so on rough surfaces because distal ends of bristles of the brushes are unable to effectively touch hollow areas. Furthermore, because the bristles of these descaling brushes are made of wires such as iron wire or copper wire, which are not sufficiently durable, none of the conventional descaling brushes has a long useful life.   • Therefore, the invention provides a descaling brush to mitigate and/or obviate the aforementioned problems. [0005]
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The main objective of the present invention is to provide a descaling brush with particles of high hardness and rigidity. [0006]
  • Another objective of the present invention is to provide a method to manufacture the descaling brush. [0007]
  • Other objects, advantages and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.[0008]
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

  • DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, a descaling brush in accordance with the invention is composed of a handle ([0012] 10) and a plurality of bristles (11) embedded in the handle (10). In a first embodiment shown in FIG. 1, the handle (10) is cylindrical, and the bristles (11) are radially embedded in a periphery of the handle (10). In a second embodiment shown in FIG. 2, the handle (10) is flat, and the bristles (11) are embedded as a phalanx on a first surface of the handle (10).
  • The bristles ([0013] 11) are shown in FIG. 3. Each of the bristles (11) has a plurality of fine particles (12) of high hardness and rigidity formed on a distal end thereof. The particles (12) are available in diamond, Cubic Boron Nitride(CBN), Aluminum Oxide, Silicon Carbide and etc. The sizes of the particles (12) are preferable of between 20-400 meshes per square inch.
  • According to the present invention, a process of manufacturing the descaling brush includes following steps: [0014]
  • 1. Fixing the particles ([0015] 12) such as diamond, CBN, Aluminum Oxide, Silicon Carbide on the distal ends of the bristles (11).
  • 2. Embedding the bristles ([0016] 11) in the handle (10).
  • Fixing the particles ([0017] 12) can be accomplished by one of the manners described hereinafter.
  • In a first manner, the process includes: [0018]
  • 1. Adhering the particles ([0019] 12) on the distal ends of the bristles (11) by adhesive, and sprinkling solder on the particles (12);
  • 2. Drying and dewaxing the bristles ([0020] 11) with the particles (12);
  • 3. Heating in a vacuum furnace the bristles ([0021] 11) with the particles (12) to melt the solder, and then the particles (12) are fixed on the bristles (11) when the solder cools down and solidifies.
  • The solder is preferably a metal solder including 1% titanium or chromium. [0022]
  • In a second manner, the process includes: [0023]
  • 1. Dipping the bristles ([0024] 11) in an electroplating bath with the particles (12);
  • 2. Electrification to reduce nickel in the electroplating bath to adhere to the bristles ([0025] 11), and then the particles (12) are fixed on bristles (11).
  • In a third manner, the process includes: [0026]
  • 1. Adhering the particles ([0027] 12) on the distal ends of the bristles (11) by adhesive, and spreading with resin;
  • 2. Heating in a furnace and then the particles ([0028] 12) are fixed on the bristles (11) when the resin hardens.
  • From the above description, it is noted that the invention has the following advantages: [0029]
  • 1. Because the distal ends of the bristles ([0030] 11) each have a lot of fine particles (12) which are able to effectively touch hollow areas, the descaling brush is also useful on a rough surface.
  • 2. Because the particles ([0031] 12) are made of high hardness material, the descaling brush has a long useful life.
  • It is to be understood, however, that even though numerous characteristics and advantages of the present invention have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with details of the structure and function of the invention, the disclosure is illustrative only, and changes may be made in detail, especially in matters of shape, size, and arrangement of parts within the principles of the invention to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the appended claims are expressed. Claims (10)

What is claimed is:
1. A descaling brush, comprising:
a handle (10);
a plurality of bristles (11) formed on the handle (10); and
fine particles (12) of high hardness and rigidity fixed at distal ends of the bristles (11).
2. The descaling brush as claimed in claim 1, wherein the fine particles (12) are made of diamond.
3. The descaling brush as claimed in claim 1, wherein the fine particles (12) are made of Cubic Boron Nitride.
4. The descaling brush as claimed in claim 1, wherein the fine particles (12) are made of Aluminum Oxide.
5. The descaling brush as claimed in claim 1, wherein the fine particles (12) are made of Silicon Carbide.
6. The descaling brush as claimed in claim 1, wherein the sizes of the particles are between 20 to 400 meshes per square inch.
7. A method for manufacturing a descaling brush, comprising steps of:
fixing the particles (12) on distal ends of the bristles (11); and embedding the bristles (11) in the handle (10).
8. The method for manufacturing the descaling brush as claimed in claim 7, wherein the particles (12) are fixed on the bristles (11) by solder.
9. The method for manufacturing the descaling brush as claimed in claim 7, wherein the particles (12) are fixed on the bristles (11) by means of electroplating.
10. The method for manufacturing the descaling brush as claimed in claim 7, wherein the particles (12) are fixed on the bristles (11) by resin.
