Description
- 1. Field of Invention
- The present invention generally relates to a chest protector employing removable-exchangeable components. More particularly, the present invention relates to a chest protector having novel components of two outer sheets which removable from the chest protector.
- 2. Description of Prior Art
- Several forms of chest protector have been made which apply to sports game in different ways.
- U.S. Pat. No. 6,035,452 issued to Braxton, which teaches a chest protector having two layer expansible protective pouches, and removable replaceable internal impact deceleration control components, the design allows individual deceleration control elements.
- U.S. Pat. No. 5,337,418, issued to Kato, which teaches a protector includes a cushioning pad having one face being adapted to be mounted over a garment, mounted on the other face of the cushioning pad in a spaced manner, for protecting the cushioning pad form being damaged form the external impact.
- However, there are disadvantages in prior arts that feature the chest protector.
- Changing reversible or one side chest protector during the sports game can be inconvenient and difficult, especially when the person applying the chest protector for a lone time, a shape of the chest protector is contoured convexly away from the user to assume the natural shape of the user's body. Despite the numerous types of chest protector existing in the prior art, none of the prior art teaches the chest protector which operates in the manner as taught in the present invention.
- The present invention is contrived to overcome the conventional disadvantages. Accordingly, it is another object of the present invention to provide improved chest protector, which has a simplified structure, being beneficial to a user.
- When the outer sheets are assembled into a proper shape and size, the inner guard-padding portion with corresponding shape and size can be selected with the outer sheets being laid on the inner guard-padding portion, and then having Velcro driven around on the inner guard-padding portion not occupied by, so that the outer sheet is secured to the inner guard-padding portion.
- To achieve the above-described object, the chest protector according to the present invention comprises two outer sheets to distinguish the opposite side of the team and an inner guard-padding portion attached together onto athletic's chest of the chest protector.
- Exchanging of the chest protector during contact sports game, allowing the outer sheet attachable engagement and disengagement to the chest protector, provide several advantages over the prior art. First, it provides convenience for the applicator in putting the different chest protectors on. Also, most chest protector in the prior art, having one side or reversible sides, have a tendency to be contoured convexly away from the user' natural body shape or exchanging the chest protector in which the individual's game arrangement. Furthermore, outer sheet is constructed of various cloth material combinations selected by the wearer; internal impact deceleration control element materials are also a plurality wearer option. Chest protector including additional protection to the sternum area of an athlete's chest. More material can be used for to secure the protector to the harness.
- With the above and additional objects and advantages in view, as will hereinafter appear, this invention comprises the method, combinations, and arrangements of parts hereinafter described, by way of example, and illustrated in the accompanying drawings of a preferred embodiment in which:
- FIG. 1 is a perspective view illustrating the present invention;
- FIG. 2 is a schematic structural view illustrating the functioning of the present invention;
- With reference to the accompanying drawings, a chest protector employing removable-exchangeable components according to the present invention will now be described.
- The chest protector employing removable-exchangeable components in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2 comprises a first body11 having a inner guard-
padding portion 12 and a Velcro 13 and twoouter sheets - The inner guard-
padding portion 12 of the first and the outer sheets of thesecond body - In the preferred embodiment as shown in FIGS.1-2, the connection of the first and
second bodies padding portion 12 so that twoouter sheets - As discussed above, the athletic equipment of the present invention can maintain a reliable engagement between the inner guard-
padding portion member 12 and twoouter sheets outer sheets - While a preferred embodiment of the invention has been described and illustrated for purposes of clarity and example, it should be understood that many changes, substitutions and modifications to the described embodiment will be apparent to those having skill in the art in light of the foregoing disclosure without departing from the scope and spirit of the present invention which is defined by the claim which will follow.
