Abstract
A cart including a body, at least two wheels, and a frame. The body has an upper surface and a lower surface. The at least two wheels are operably coupled to the body. The frame includes a generally planar and substantially rigid upper member and at least one support member. The support member is coupled to the upper member and is releasably coupled to the body. The frame is positionable in a first configuration, wherein the upper member is substantially disposed over the upper surface of the body thereby forming a cover, and a second configuration, in which the frame is decoupled from the body and placed on a generally horizontal surface thereby forming a table. The frame includes means for releasably coupling the at least one support member to the body without the use of tools. A table is configured for removable attachment without the use of tools to a cart. The table includes a generally planar and substantially rigid first member, and second and third substantially rigid members. The first member substantially extends between and connects the second and third members. The second and third members each include at least one extension for releasably engaging the cart.
Description
- The present invention relates generally to carts and tables. More particularly, the invention relates to a cart, such as a wagon, having a detachable cover which also functions as a table.
- Wheeled carts, such as toy wagons and toy ride-in vehicles, are well known versatile vehicles for children. Such carts, particularly wagons, are well suited for travel over all types of surfaces including pavement, grass or sand. Wagons are particularly well suited for general play, or for transporting children or supplies. In addition, wagons are especially useful for picnics, trips to the beach, and sporting events. Wagons and toy ride-in vehicles often include covers or roofs. Wagon covers are typically made of fabric and are downwardly sloped from a centrally and longitudinally positioned upper support member toward each side of the wagon. Covers or roofs for toy ride-in vehicles include a convex or downwardly curved top portion. Wagon covers and roofs for toy ride-in vehicles enable the cart to resemble a covered wagon or a full-size vehicle, such as an automobile.
- Tables are also well known. Additionally, a cart assembly which can be converted into a table is also known.
- Existing wheeled carts, existing tables and existing convertible carts have a number of drawbacks. Many wheeled carts, including wagons and toy ride-in vehicles, do not include a roof or a cover and therefore provide little or no protection for children or objects positioned within the cart from sunlight or precipitation. Those carts which include a cover or a roof typically are configured such that the cover or the roof is fixedly secured to the cart. Further, the fixed connection of a cover or a roof to a cart requires the use of tools in order to assemble or disassemble the roof or cover to, or from, the cart. Additionally, many tables, including collapsible tables, are too large or too heavy to be easily transported. When attempting to transport a collapsible, or otherwise portable table using, for example, a wagon, the size of such a table typically inhibits other articles or children from also being carried within the same wagon.
- Existing cart assemblies which convert into a table typically require the completion of a series of elaborate and complex steps in order to complete the transformation of the cart into a table. The transformation process also usually requires the removal of all objects and persons from the cart during the transformation steps. Moreover, existing cart assemblies which convert into a table cannot simultaneously function as both a cart and a table. Once converted to a table, the cart assembly cannot function as a cart or a wagon, and the process must be reversed in order for the cart assembly to function as a cart or a wagon.
- Thus, there is a need for a wheeled cart having a roof or a cover which can be easily connected to or removed from the cart. What is needed is a cart which can easily and safely accommodate a table, children, supplies or a combination thereof. What is needed is a table which can be transported by a cart, such as a wagon, without monopolizing the storage capacity of the cart. It would therefore be advantageous to develop a cart assembly which can function as a table and as a cart.
- The present invention provides a cart including a body, at least two wheels, and a frame. The body has an upper surface and a lower surface, one of the at least two wheels are operably coupled to the body. The frame includes a generally planar and substantially rigid upper member and at least one support member. The support member is coupled to the upper member and is releasably coupled to the body. The frame is positionable in a first configuration, wherein the upper member is substantially disposed over the upper surface of the body thereby forming a cover, and a second configuration, in which the frame is decoupled from the body and placed on a generally horizontal surface thereby forming a table.
- According to a principal aspect of the invention, a cart includes a body, a plurality of wheels and a frame. The body includes an upper surface, and the wheels are rotatably coupled to the body. The frame includes a generally planar and substantially rigid upper member coupled to at least one support member, and a device for releasably coupling the at least one support member to the body without the use of tools. The frame is configured for removable placement substantially over the upper surface of the body.
- According to a another aspect of the invention, a table is configured for removable attachment to a cart without the use of tools. The table includes a generally planar and substantially rigid first member, and second and third substantially rigid members. The first member substantially extends between and connects the second and third members. The second and third members each include at least one extension for releasably engaging the cart.
- This invention will become more fully understood from the following detailed description, taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings described herein below, and wherein like reference numerals refer to like parts.

- Referring to FIG. 1, a
cart assembly 10 having adetachable cover 14 is illustrated. In a preferred embodiment, thecart assembly 10 is a covered wagon. In alternative preferred embodiments, thecart assembly 10 can be a toy ride-in vehicle or other type of push/pull toy vehicle. Thecart assembly 10 is a portable vehicle with thedetachable cover 14 configured to also serve as a table. Thecart assembly 10 includes avehicle chassis 12, thecover 14, a pair ofrear wheels 16, a pair offront wheels 18 and ahandle assembly 20. - The
vehicle chassis 12 is preferably a generally rectangular body, but other chassis shapes are also contemplated. Thechassis 12 includes alower panel 22 formed to opposing upwardly extending left andright side walls rear wall 28 and afront wall 30. The left andright side walls rear wall 28 and thefront wall 30 and thelower panel 22 define afirst storage compartment 32. Thecompartment 32 is open at the top for access by passengers, such as children, or for supplies. Thechassis 12 is configured to support supplies, at least one rider or a combination thereof. Thechassis 12 preferably can comfortably support at least two children. Thechassis 12 is made of a durable and lightweight material. In a preferred embodiment, thechassis 12 is made of a rotationally molded thermoplastic material. Alternatively, thechassis 12 can be made of other materials such as, for example, other plastics, wood or metal. - The
cover 14 is a frame including a generally planar and substantiallyrigid tabletop 54 substantially extending between and connected to first and second upstandingleg support members cover 14 is releasably coupled to thechassis 12. When coupled to thechassis 12, thecover 14 is spaced apart from, and substantially covers, the upper surface of thechassis 12. Thecover 14 can prevent sunlight or precipitation from contacting a portion of thecompartment 32 of thechassis 12. Thecover 14 can be formed such that thecart assembly 10 resembles a covered wagon or a vehicle (such as a toy ride-in automobile). - The rear and
front wheels rear wheels 16 are rotatably coupled to thechassis 12, and the front wheels are pivotally and rotatably coupled to thechassis 12. - The
handle assembly 20 is an outwardly extending lever arm. Thehandle assembly 20 is pivotally connected to thefront wall 30 of thevehicle chassis 12. Thehandle assembly 20 is also configured to pivotally adjust to the height of a person using thehandle assembly 20 to pull thecart assembly 10. Thehandle assembly 20 includes adistal end 36 which includes anopening 38. Thedistal end 36 is configured for grasping by a person for pulling or pushing thecart assembly 10. In a preferred embodiment, thehandle assembly 20 has an arcuate profile which outwardly and forwardly extends from thefront wall 30 of thevehicle chassis 12.Other handle assembly 20 configurations can also be used. In a preferred embodiment, thehandle assembly 20 can pivot such that it fits completely under thelower panel 22 of thechassis 12 to facilitate storage of thecart assembly 10. Thehandle assembly 20 is made of a durable lightweight, strong material. Thehandle assembly 20 is preferably made of a blow molded thermoplastic material, alternatively, other materials can be used such as, for example, other plastics, wood or metal. - In a preferred embodiment, the
front wall 30 of thevehicle chassis 12 includes threeprojections handle assembly 20. Theprojections front wall 30 and are spaced apart from one another. Thehandle assembly 20 further preferably includes a bifurcatedproximal end 46 which is configured to fit within the spaces existing between theprojections proximal end 46 of thehandle assembly 20 and each projection includes a hole for accommodating a handle assembly axle 48. The handle assembly axle 48 extends generally horizontally through theprojections proximal end 46 of thehandle assembly 20 along anaxis 50 that is transverse to a major longitudinal dimension of thecart assembly 10. The axle 48 enables the handle to pivot about theaxis 50 such that the height of thedistal end 36 can be adjusted to comfortably match the height of the user's arm for grasping, and pushing or pulling of thecart assembly 10 by a user. In an alternative embodiment, thehandle assembly 20 can be removably attached or attached by alternative means, and can be coupled to the front or rear end of thechassis 12. - FIG. 2 illustrates the
cover 14 and thechassis 12 in greater detail. When detached from thechassis 12, as shown in FIG. 2 thecover 14 is configured to serve as a table. The first and secondleg support sections tabletop 54. Thetabletop 54 is preferably formed in a general rectangular shape. Thetabletop 54 is configured to substantially cover thechassis 12 and to support foodstuffs, dishware and other objects. The first andsecond leg members cover 14 are configured to support thetabletop 54 in a generally horizontal position above either thechassis 12 or a generally horizontal surface. Each of the first and secondleg support members projections 60. Theprojections 60 are configured to releasably engage thechassis 12 and for placement onto a surface. The first and secondleg support members rectangular window opening window openings leg support members chassis 12, thewindow openings window openings cover 14 without significantly decreasing the strength of eachsupport member tabletop 54, and the first and secondleg support members leg support members leg support members - As also illustrated in FIG. 2, the
chassis 12 further includes a cup-holder portion 66 and aseat member 68. Additionally, fourrecesses 70 are defined into the upper corners of thechassis 12. Each of therecesses 70 is configured to releasably receive one of theprojections 60 of theleg support members holder portion 66 inwardly extends from and is integrally formed to theleft wall 24 of thevehicle chassis 12. Alternative locations for the cup-holder portion 66 are contemplated. The cup-holder portion 66 includes at least two cup-holder openings 72 for supporting beverages. The cup-holder portion 66 is preferably integrally formed to thechassis 12. Alternatively, the multiple cup-holder portions 66 can be coupled to thevehicle chassis 12. - The
seat member 68 is a generally rectangularly planar sheet, and also removably connects to thechassis 12. Theseat member 68 is configured to enable a passenger to be in a seated position. Theseat member 68 is made of a durable lightweight material which preferably is a blow molded thermoplastic material. Alternatively, theseat member 68 can be made of other materials such as, for example, wood, metal or other plastics. In alternative embodiments, theseat member 68 can be pivotably, slidably or integrally connected to thechassis 12. - FIG. 3 illustrates the
chassis 12 and thecover 14 in even greater detail. Referring to FIGS. 2 and 3, apartition 74 upwardly extends from thelower section 22 of thevehicle chassis 12. Thepartition 74 transversely extends between the left andright sidewalls chassis 12. Alternatively, thepartition 74 can be a separate member which is removably connected within or to thevehicle chassis 12. Thepartition 74 is configured to support a front end of theseat member 68. Thechassis 12, thepartition 74 and theseat member 68 together define a second storage compartment 76 within thevehicle chassis 12. In a preferred embodiment, thepartition 74, thechassis 12 and theseat member 68 form a cooler for storingbeverages 78 and other food stuffs in the second storage compartment 76. - A second seat80 is also formed into the front end of the
vehicle chassis 12. The second seat 80 extends into thefirst storage compartment 32 of thechassis 12. The second seat 80 is configured to support a passenger in a seated position, or supplies. The second seat 80 is preferably and integrally formed to thechassis 12. Alternatively, the second seat 80 can be a removable member removeably attached to thechassis 12. In alternative embodiments, thechassis 12 can be formed with a single seat or no seats. - As also shown on FIGS. 2 and 3, the rear pair of
wheels 16 are pivotally connected to thechassis 12 through arear axle 82. Therear axle 82 transversely extends through the lower rear end of thechassis 12. The pair offront wheels 18 are pivotally and rotatably connected to thechassis 12 through a pair ofbent axles 84. Each of thebent axles 84 includes a first end which is rotatably connected to one of thefront wheels 18 and a second end which is pivotally connected to thechassis 12. The first end of thebent axle 84 lies along a substantially horizontal axis and the second end of thebent axle 84 lies along a substantially vertical axis. The connection of the first end of thebent axle 84 to the front wheel enables the wheel to rotate about the first end of thebent axle 84. The connection of the second end of thebent axle 84 to thevehicle chassis 12 enables thebent axle 84 to rotate, and thefront wheel 18 to pivot, about the substantially vertical axis. - The front and
rear wheels cart assembly 10 to be easily transported from one location to another. Thewheels wheels - FIGS. 4 and 5 illustrate the coupling of one of the
leg support members cover 14 to thechassis 12. Each of theprojections 60 of theleg support members 56 and 58 (see FIG. 3) is configured to releasably engage thechassis 12 at one of therecesses 70 in FIG. 5. Each of theprojections 60 includes apin engaging recess 86 for engaging thechassis 12. Referring to FIG. 5, a through-wallpin assembly opening 88 is defined at each corner of thechassis 12. Thepin assembly openings 88 each receive apin assembly 90. Each of thepin assemblies 90 is a biasing device which is operably connected to thechassis 12 at thepin assembly openings 88. Thepin assembly 90 is configured to releasably engage one of theprojections 60 of theleg support members 56 and 58 (see FIG. 3). - As shown in FIG. 3 and5, each of the
pin assemblies 90 also include asleeve 92, apin 94, aspring 96 and aring 98. Thesleeve 92 is a tubular member configured to be press fit within the pin assembly opening 88 of thechassis 12. Thesleeve 92 includes anannular projection 100 which engages anannular slot 102 formed within thechassis 12. Theannular slot 102 interconnects with thepin assembly opening 88. The engagement of theannular projection 100 within theannular slot 102 of thechassis 12 fixedly secures thesleeve 92 within thechassis 12. Thesleeve 92 is configured to support and retain thepin 94 and thespring 96. Thesleeve 92 is preferably made of plastic, but alternatively, thesleeve 92 can be made of other materials such as metal. - The
pin 94 is a cylindrical member configured to axially extend through thesleeve 92. Thepin 94 includes a projection engaging end and a ring engaging end. Thepin 94 is positioned within thesleeve 92 such that the projection engaging end of thepin 94 inwardly extends into therecess 70 of thechassis 12 for releasable engagement with therecess 86 of theprojection 60. The ring engaging end of thepin 94 outwardly extends from one of the front or therear walls chassis 12 for connection with thering 98. - The
spring 96 is a biasing member. Thespring 96 is disposed within thesleeve 92 and around thepin 94. Thespring 96 is connected to thepin 94 within thesleeve 92. Thespring 96 is preferably a helical spring and it functions to bias thepin 94 inwardly toward therecess 70 of thechassis 12. Alternative conventional biasing devices can also be used in lieu of a helical spring. - The
ring 98 includes an annular member connected through a hole defined within the ring engaging end of thepin 94. Thering 98 is configured for grasping by a user thereby enabling the user to easily outwardly extend thepin 94 such that the projection engaging end of thepin 94 is substantially removed from therecess 70. The outward translation of thepin 94 enables theprojection 60 of theleg supporting members recess 70. Upon removal or insertion of theprojection 60 from or into therecess 70, thering 98 can be released enabling the pin engaging end of thepin 94 to reenter therecess 70 of thechassis 12. - The
pin assembly 88 enables thecover 14 to be quickly and easily disengaged from thechassis 12 without the use of tools. The disassembly of thecover 14 from thechassis 12 is accomplished through the following steps: the user grasps thering 98 and outwardly pulls thering 98 thereby causing thepin 94 to translate within thesleeve 90 drawing the projection engaging end of thepin 94 substantially out from within therecess 70 of thechassis 12. Theprojection 60 of theleg support member recess 70 thereby disengaging theprojection 60 fromchassis 12. This step is then repeated at each of the four corners of thechassis 12 to fully disassemble or separate thecover 14 from thechassis 12. - Reassembly of the cover to the
chassis 12 is accomplished by reversing the previously listed steps. Theprojection 60 is aligned within the upper portion of therecess 70 and thering 98 is grasped and outwardly deflected, causing thepin 94 to translate outward thereby enabling theprojection 60 of theleg support member recess 70. Thering 98 is then released allowing thespring 96 to bias thepin 94 inward such that the projection engaging end of thepin 94 enters therecess 70 and engages thepin receiving recess 86 of theprojection 60. This is repeated with the three remaining corners of thechassis 12 in order to fully engage thecover 14 with thechassis 12. The quick and easy removal of the cover from thechassis 12 enables any user to enjoy the use of thecart assembly 10. - FIG. 6 illustrates the
cover 14 in detail. The first and secondleg support members tabletop 54 through the use of aclip assembly 104. Thetabletop 54 includes anupper surface 106 and a lower surface 108. A pair of transversely extendingchannels 110 are defined within the lower surface 108 of thetabletop 54. Thechannels 110 are positioned at the forward and rear ends of thetabletop 54 and are each configured to receive an upper end of one of the first and secondleg support members tabletop 54 further includes a pair ofgrooves 112 also defined within the lower surface 108 of thetabletop 54. Each of thegrooves 112 is interconnected with one of thechannels 110. Each of thegrooves 112 extends longitudinally along a portion of the lower surface 108 of thetable tabletop 54. Each of thegrooves 112 is configured to receive one of theclip assemblies 104. The upper end of each of the first and secondleg support members clip engaging slot 114. Theclip engaging slot 114 transversely extends along a central portion of the inner surface of each of the first and secondleg supporting members clip engaging slot 114 is configured to releaseably engage theclip assembly 104. - FIG. 7 illustrates the
clip assembly 104 and theleg support member 56 in greater detail. Theclip assembly 104 is pivotally connected to the lower side 108 of the tabletop 54 (see FIG. 6). Theclip assembly 104 releasably connects thetabletop 54 to theleg support members clip assembly 104 includes anengaging end 116 and a pair of opposingprotrusions 118, anextension 120 and aleaf spring 122. Theengaging end 116 is an angled projection formed at the side of theclip assembly 104 facing theleg support member engaging end 116 is configured to pivot with theclip assembly 104 to releasably engage theslot 114 and a raisedsurface 124 of theleg support member surface 124 inwardly extends from the inner surface of theleg support member slot 114. In alternative embodiments, each of theleg support members slot 114 and the raisedsurface 124 for engaging theclip assembly 104. - The pair of opposing
protrusions 118 outwardly and transversely extend from either side of theclip assembly 104. Theprotrusions 118 connect to thetabletop 54 at to holes (not shown) defined in thetabletop 54 and interconnected to thechannel 112. Theprotrusions 118 enable theclip assembly 104 to pivotally connect to thetabletop 54. - Referring to FIGS. 7 and 8, the
extension 120 is a flat portion of theclip assembly 104 which extends within thechannel 112 of thetabletop 54. Theextension 120 forms the lower surface of theclip assembly 104 and outwardly extends from the remaining portions of theclip assembly 104 such that aportion 126 of thechannel 112 remains exposed for grasping by a user. Theextension 120 enables a user to grasp and pivot theclip assembly 104 to disengage theengaging end 116 of theclip assembly 104 from theleg support member - Referring to FIG. 7 the
leaf spring 122 is an upwardly extending portion of theclip assembly 104 which is connected to the lower side 108 of thetabletop 54. Theleaf spring 122 is configured to further connect theclip assembly 104 to thetabletop 54 and also to bias theclip assembly 104 to a substantially horizontal position following movement of theclip assembly 104. - FIG. 8 illustrates the
clip assembly 104 connecting thetabletop 54 to one ofleg support members clip assembly 104 enables a user to quickly and easily separate thetabletop 54 from theleg support members clip assembly 104 facilitates storage of thecart assembly 10 and increases the versatility of thecover 14 and thetabletop 54. - In alternative embodiments, the
cover 14 can be releasably attached to thechassis 12 through other means such as, for example, other spring release assemblies, pushbutton release assemblies, a hook and latch assembly and a snap-fit type of connection. In alternative embodiments, theclip assembly 104 can also be replaced with other means for releasably connecting thetabletop 54 to theleg support members - The
cart assembly 10 with theremovable cover 14 which converts into a table is ideal for transporting children or supplies. Thecart assembly 10 is particularly well suited for picnics, a visit to the beach or any outdoor activity. Thecart assembly 10 eliminates the need to carry a bulky and heavy collapsible table to outdoor events. The quick release connections of thecover 14 to thechassis 12, and thetabletop 54 to theleg support members cart assembly 10 easy to disassemble and to store. The range of movement of thehandle assembly 20, which can be pivoted about theaxis 50 and placed under thechassis 12, also facilitates storage of thecart assembly 10. - Referring to FIG. 9, the
cart assembly 10 can also be converted into a “flat bed” mode in which thetabletop 54 is positioned directly onto the upper surface of thechassis 12. The releasable connection of the first and secondleg support members 56 and 58 (see FIG. 1) to thechassis 12, and the releasable connection of the first and secondleg support members 56 and 58 (see FIG. 1) to thetabletop 54 enables a user to easily remove the first andsecond support members tabletop 54 directly and securely onto the upper surface of thechassis 12. When positioned onto the upper surface of thechassis 12, thetabletop 54 substantially encloses thefirst storage compartment 32. The substantially enclosedfirst storage compartment 32 is well suited for storage of toys, tools, supplies and equipment. The positioning of thetabletop 54 directly onto thechassis 12 also inhibits sunlight, precipitation or debris from entering thecompartment 32. When in the “flat bed” mode, theupper surface 106 of thetabletop 54 provides a generally flat surface well suited for transporting large objects such as, for example, shrubs, trees, coolers, collapsible chairs, umbrellas and lumber. In a preferred embodiment, the lower surface 108 (see FIG. 6) of thetabletop 54 includes contours for facilitating the secure positioning of thetabletop 54 onto thechassis 14. In another preferred embodiment, thetabletop 54 can be releasably connected to thechassis 12 through the use of fasteners, hinges, locks or other conventional attachment means. Additionally, thetabletop 54 can be removed from thechassis 12 and positioned directly onto a surface for supporting objects for applications where a conventional legged table is not desired. - While preferred embodiments of the present invention have been described and illustrated, numerous departures therefrom can be contemplated by persons skilled in the art, for example, the cover can take the form of a seat or a bench. Additionally, the cart assembly include two wheels with a support downwardly extending from the opposite end of the chassis for supporting the cart assembly. Therefore, the present invention is not limited to the foregoing description but only by the scope and spirit of the appended claims.
Claims (21)
1. A cart comprising:
a body having an upper surface and a lower surface;
at least two wheels operably coupled to the body; and
a frame including a generally planar and substantially rigid upper member and at least one support member, the support member coupled to the upper member and releasably coupled to the body, the frame positionable in a first configuration, in which the upper member is substantially disposed over the upper surface of the body thereby forming a cover, and also positionable in a second configuration, in which the frame is decoupled from the body and placed on a generally horizontal surface thereby forming a horizontally disposed table.
2. The cart of claim 1 wherein the at least two wheels include a pair of rear wheels rotatably coupled to a rear portion of the body and a pair of front wheels pivotally and rotatably coupled to a front portion of the body, and further comprising a handle pivotally coupled to the front portion of the body.
3. The cart of claim 1 wherein the body is selected from the group consisting of a wagon bed and a toy vehicle chassis.
4. The cart of claim 1 wherein the body comprises a wagon bed having a generally rectangular plate formed to four interconnected sidewalls upwardly extending from the plate, and a partition upwardly extending from the plate and interconnecting two of the sidewalls, the partition and the sidewalls defining first and second discrete storage compartments.
5. The cart of claim 4 further comprising a seat member removable coupled to the wagon bed over the first storage compartment.
6. The cart of claim 5 wherein the first storage compartment includes a cooler.
7. The cart of claim 1 wherein the at least one support member includes first and second support members releasably coupled to the upper member, each of the support members having an opening.
8. The cart of claim 1 wherein the at least one support member is releasably coupled to the base without the use of tools.
9. The cart of claim 1 wherein the at least one support member includes first and second support members, the first and second members releasably coupled to the upper member without the use of tools.
10. The cart of claim 1 wherein the frame is positionable in a third configuration in which the at least one support member is decoupled from the upper member and the body, and the upper member is disposed directly onto the body.
11. A cart comprising:
a body including an upper surface;
a plurality of wheels rotatably coupled to the body;
a frame including a generally planar and substantially rigid upper member coupled to at least one support member, the frame configured for removable placement substantially over the upper surface of the body; and
means for releasably coupling the at least one support member to the body without the use of tools.
12. The cart of claim 11 wherein the means for releasably coupling the at least one support member to the body without the use of tools is at least one projection downwardly extending from the at least one support member and at least one support member receiving slot defined within the body.
13. The cart of claim 12 wherein each of the projections is releasably snap fit within a separate support member receiving slot.
14. The cart of claim 11 wherein the body is selected from the group consisting of a wagon bed and a toy vehicle chassis.

The cart of claim 11 wherein the body is a wagon bed having a generally rectangular plate formed to four interconnected sidewalls upwardly extending from the plate, and a partition upwardly extending from the plate and interconnecting two of the sidewalls and with the partition and the sidewalls defining first and second discrete storage compartments.
16. The cart of claim 15 further comprising a seat member removably coupled to the wagon bed over the first storage compartment.
17. The cart of claim 10 wherein the frame is formed as a table.
18. The cart of claim 11 wherein the at least one support member includes first and second support members, the first and second members releasably coupled to the upper member without the use of tools.
19. A table toy system configured for removable attachment without the use of tools to a cart, the table toy system comprising:
a toy chassis;
a generally planar and substantially rigid first member;
a second substantially rigid member; and
a third substantially rigid member, the first member substantially extending between and connecting the second and third members, the second and third members each including at least one extension for releasably engaging the cart, thereby forming a removable table coupled to the toy chassis.
20. The table of claim 19 wherein the second and third members are releasably coupled to the first member.
21. The table of claim 19 wherein the second and third members each include an opening configured to resemble a toy vehicle window.
