SANITARY SEAT COVER AND METHOD OF DISPENSING THE SAME R O T N E V m Filed July 19, 1932 ATTO RN EY Patented Apr. 30, 1935 UNHTED STATES PAT Fries SANITARY SEAT COVER AND METHOD OF This invention relates to improvements in seat covers, particularly in covers for the seats of toilets or the like, and it is the principal object of my invention to provide a sanitary and hygienic seat cover folded in such manner and stored Within an inexpensive container so that upon the withdrawal of one cover the flap of the next cover comes within convenient reach of the user and can be readily seized. 1

Another object of my invention is the provision of a seat cover and its method and folding the same in an inexpensive container permitting of an easy withdrawal of the covers therefrom.

A further object of my invention is the provision of a paper cover for toilet seats within its container of simple and inexpensive construction, yet durable and highly efiicient in use.

A still further object of my invention is the provision of a novel method of folding the seat covers so as to interlock with their adjoining covers in the receptacle in order to bring forth one of the flaps formed in the material of the cover during the successive withdrawal of the covers.

These and other objects and advantages of my invention will become more fully known as the description thereof proceeds, and will then be specifically defined in the appended claim.

In the accompanying drawing, forming a material part of this disclosure:

Fig. 1 illustrates the seat cover constructed ac-- cording to my invention in position upon a seat.

Fig. 2 illustrates the cover in its semi-folded condition.

Fig. 3 shows the cover in its position immediately after its removal from the container.

Fig. 4 is a front elevation of the partly folded cover.

Fig. 5 is a rear elevation thereof, turned for 180.

Fig. 6 illustrates the relative arrangement of the covers removed from the container.

Fig. 7 is a perspective View of a container for the covers with one of the covers in position for removal.

As illustrated, a cover Ill for toilet seats H or the like and cheaply made from tissue or similar inexpensive paper has a median opening l2 formed therein becoming aligned with the opening in a seat if placed thereon. The cutting and stamping of the blanks can be performed by any well known machine forming no part of this in- Vention.

The prepared blank are first folded along the longitudinal median lines l3, M, as shown in Figure 2, and are then folded along their lateral 6 median line 55, and again back upon the folded part It along the outer line H, as clearly shown in Figure 3.

Figure 4 shows the next step in folding the seat cover in front elevation the margin it within flap 10 it and part l8 folded on I 6.

Figure 5 shows the folded seat cover from the rear and turned about 180 to the showing, Figure 4.

In Figure 6 the stack of seat covers 29 is shown as it is entered into the box 2 i.

In operation the part it of the uppermost sheet of seat covers is projecting through the median slot 22 of the cover of the box 2|, while part M of the same cover engages under the flap of the next adjoining cover with part 19 on top. The withdrawal of flap i8 of the uppermost cover 10 will bring the flap E6 of the next adjoining cover into position to be conveniently gripped by hand.

It will be understood that I have described and 25 shown the preferred form of my invention only as one example of the many possible ways to practicallyconstruct the same, and that I may make such changes in the general arrangement thereof and in the construction of its minor details or the method of folding the seat covers and storing the same within their container as come within the scope of the appended'claim without departure from the spirit of my invention and the principles involved.

Having thus described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:

The method of folding seat covers particularly for toilet seats having a central opening and of 40 storing said covers within a dispensing receptacle consisting in first folding the cover along its median longitudinal center line, then folding it along its lateral central line and refolding the cover to one side of the lateral central line upon itself and firmly folding the part of the cover upon the other side of the lateral central line upon itself and interlocking the ends of the last named fold of two adjoining covers for presenting a convenient grip.
