An object of the invention vis'the provision of an advertising display fountain whichis adapted advertising display 5 to be placed upon the pavement of a street and includes a cabinet or housing entirely enclosing a mechanical refrigerating apparatus for cooling the water in the ydrinking fountain, the cabinet being provided with sections or panels upon which advertisements are placed, a portion of the housing being provided with inclined Walls in which is mounted a rotatable Vmember having panels provided for advertisements which are periodically placed before successive transparent portions in the inclined walls.
A further object of the invention is the provision of an advertising display fountain having a housing enclosing a mechanical refrigerating apparatus with the housing being provided with panels to receive advertisements, the panels being illuminated by lamps or neon tubes or other means of lighting placed along the peripheries ofthe panels and containing a clock mechanism for controlling the opening or closing of the circuit to the lamps or other lighting system, the refrigerating apparatus being operated in connection with a tank which is connected to the usual water supply of the town or city. l
This invention will be best understood from a consideration of the following'detailed description, in view of the accompanying drawings forming a part of the specification; nevertheless, it is to be understood that the invention is not confined to the disclosure, being susceptible of such changes and modifications which `shall define no material departure from the salient'features of the invention as expressed in the appended claims.

Figure 3 is a horizontal section taken along the line 3-3 of Figure 2, and
Figure 4 is a vertical section taken along the line 4-4 of Figure 1.
Referring more particularly to the drawings, l designates a base section having feet 11 `for spacing the base section from a pavement l2 or other foundation upon which the drinking fountain rests. The drinking fountain may be of any shape desired but I preferably employ a hexagonal, octag-onal or round housing for the purpose..
Arising from the base member 10 is a plurality of bars 1 3 and 14 placed at an angle to each other which, in connection with the cross bars l and 16, form the framework of the main body of the housing. The 'openings formed by the bars just described are closed by glass plates 17 which col operate with the bars to complete the walls of the housing or cabinet. The glass plates 17 may be in the form of reflectors and to these plates is applied indicia forming advertising matter.
' Y A plurality of inwardly inclined bars 20 and 21 vform with bars 22 and 23 in operation with transparent plates 24 the inclined walls of the upper portion of the cabinet.
A base member 25 separates the space between the main body and that portion of the body 'formed by the inclined walls.
A top plate 26 is vsupported by the inclined walls and upon this is placed a square section 27 formed of bars 28 and 29 and glass panels 30. These panels may be formed of mirrors if desired.
Located upon the square section is a closure or top memberl which is provided with louvres to permit the escape of air from the cabinet. For this reason the member 25 is formed with openings through which air may passwhile the section 27 is in open communication with the portion of the cabinet having the inclined walls. The bottom of the cabinet is provided with spaced bars to support a refrigerating apparatus sothat the air may pass beneath the base section l0 upwardly through the cabinet and be discharged through the louvres 32.
Located upon the upper section of the cabinet is a rotatable member generally designated-by the transparent plates 24 for a purpose which will be presently described. An axially disposed shaft 42 f is secured to the rotatable member 40 and this is driven by a plurality of gears 43, 44, and'45.` The gear 45 is connected to a shaft 46 which is driven by a gear 47 which in turn is driven by a gear 48 and a shaft 49. The shaft 49 is rotated by an electric motor 50 and electric wires 51 and 52 which extend downwardly through the bottom of the cabinet and are connected with the usual electric supply of a town or city.
It willbe noted that the gear 45 is provided with one tooth so that the member 40 will be revolved periodically and through a sufficient angle to periodically place the indicia on the panels 41 before the various transparent members 24. By
this means all of the advertising matter on each panel will be placed at definite periods in various positions so that each panel or advertising matter may be viewed periodically from the street.
The refrigerating apparatus may be of any well known type and includes a compressor 60 driven I by an electric motor 61 through a belt 62. A pipe 63 connects the compressor 60 with a condensing coil 64while a pipe 65 connects the coil with an vexpansion valve 66. 'Ihe expansion valve is connected with one end of a coil 67 which is located in a closed tank 68 adapted to contain water which is connected with the usual Water supply of the city. The coil 67 is connected by a pipe 69 With the compressor 60 so that the refrigerant in the coil 67 which has expanded is again compressed before it is forced into the condenser coil 64. By the expansion of the refrigerantin the coil,6 7 the water in the tank 68 is cooled.
Pipes 76 connect the tank with aV drinking fountain 7l at each side of the cabinet and the ilow of water to the fountain is controlled by a valve 72. The waste Water from the fountain 71 drains through a pipe 73 to a cup 74 located adjacent the base member l0 so that animals may be supplied with Water.
At the peripheries of the panels 17 and 24 are applied the usual neon lamps and these lamps are connected with the wires 81 and 82 which carry current for causing illumination -of the lamps. Since it is not kdesirable to maintain these lamps lighted at all times a clock mechanism 83 is employed and controls the switch for turning on the current or cutting off the current.
The motor 61 is operated by the current passing through wires-35 and 86 and these wires are connected with a switch box S7 of Well known construction. y
It will be seen by the above construction that the cabinet which lhouses the refrigerating apparatus may be employed as an advertising medium with a` portion of the display Within the cabinet being revolved for placing certain of the advertisments at various angular positions with respect to the vertical axis of the cabinet while the refrigerating apparatus just described maintains the water in the tank 68 at the proper temperature.
Instead of the rotatable member 40 a belt may be employed having perforations to receive the teeth of the gears causing rotation of the same for placing advertisements at various transparent portions of the upper section of the cabinet.
The rotatable member 40 which is located within the housing or display cabinet is revolved intermittently not only through the toothed gear 45 but by means of a clock mechanism 100 which controls the periodic operation of the electric motor 50, or, iny other words, the clock mechanism cooperates with the gear 45 to determine the intervals of time that each panel of the member Ai0 rests before each transparent member 24 of the outside housing. l
In the lower portion of the cabinet the advertising matter may be applied to the walls 101 so that the advertising matter will appear through the glass plates 17 and the neon tubes or lamp 80 may be located adjacent thereto or surround the advertising matter. l

In an advertising display fountain, a refrigerator having a housing enclosing the same, the walls of the housing being provided with transparent sections, a rotatable member located within the housing and provided with panels having indicia thereon which will be visible through the transparent sections, means :for revolving the rotatable member periodically for exposing the panels through various transparent sections, the revolving means being supported as a unit above the refrigerator.

In an advertising display fountain, a refrigerator having a housing enclosing the same, the walls of the housing being provided with transparent sections, a rotatable member located within the housing and providedv with panels having indicia thereon which will be visible through the transparent sections, means for revolving the rotatable member by a step by step-movement andfor retaining each panel exposed before each 'transparent section for a predetermined period,
the top of the rotatable member being inclined towards the center, the last-mentioned means being supported as a unit within the inclined portion of the rotatable member.

In an advertising display fountain, a refrigerator having a housing enclosing the same, the walls of `the housing being provided with transparent sections, a rotatable member located Within the housing and providedv with panels having indicia thereon which will be visible through the transparent sections, means for revolving the rotatable meber periodically for exposing the panels through various transparent sections, and a Ventilating hood at the top 'of the housing, the bottom of the housing having openings to permit circulation of air through said housing.

In an advertising display fountain, a refrigerator having a housing enclosing the same, the top of the housing having inclined transparent sections, the side walls being disposed in vertical planes and provided with indicia, a rotatable member located in the top .and formed of panels having indicia thereon which will be visible through the transparent sections, and means for revolving the rotatable member periodically for exposing the indicia of each vpanel before consecutive transparent sections.k

In an advertising display fountain, a refrigerator having a housing enclosing the same, the housing having feet for spacing said housing from the sidewalk of a street, the walls of the housing being provided withtransparent sections, a rotatable member located within the housing and provided with panels having indicia thereon adapted to .be exposed through the transparent sections, means for revolving the rotatable member by a step by step movement for retaining each panel exposed before each transparent section for a predetermined period, the last-mentioned means being supported labove the refrigerator.

In an advertising display fountain, a refrigerator having a housing enclosing the same, the housing being divided into a plurality of sections of unform Width and forming Walls, the walls at the upper portion being transparent and inclined inwardly, a rotatable member in the upper portion provided with panels corresponding in shape with the walls at the upper portion and having indicia thereon adapted to be exposed through the transparent walls, and means for causing a step by step rotation of said member to provide for periodic exposure of the indicia of each panel consecutively before each Vinclined Wall.

In an advertising display fountain, a refrigerator having a housing enclosing the same, the walls of the housing being divided into sections, certain of the sections being transparent, a rotatable member disposed adjacent the transparent sections and provided With indicia adapted to be exposed through the transparent sections, and means for revolving the rotatable member step by step for retaining periodically certain of the indicia before each transparent section, said rotatable member and housing havingan opening at the top and bottom thereof to provide for the circulation of air through vthe same.
