The object of. my invention is to provide cheap, durable, reliable and effective advertising signs, which will perform the double function of constantly changing the reading matter of one sign and making the light appear and disappear on another sign adjacent to the first, so that attention will be attracted and interest aroused at all times whenthe device is in operation. This object is accomplished by my invention, one embodiment of which is hereinafter more particularly set forth. V

For a more detailed description of my in.- vention, reference is to be had to the a'cconr panying drawings, forming a part hereof, in which Figure 1 is a longitudinal section of one embodiment of my invention, the section being taken on the line 11 of Figure 2, looking in the direction of the arrows.

Figure 2 is a sectional view, taken on the line 22 of Figure 1, looking in the direction of the arrows.

Figure 3 shows a portion of the mechanism for changing the reading of a sign.

Figure 4 is a front elevation of the device showing the parts in which signs appear, or pictures or other advertisement, with changing effects, as above noted...

Figures 5 and 6 are side elevations showing how its front is attached or removed from. the body of the apparatus.

As heat rises from the lamp 6 it causes the vanes 16 to shift so that the rotor 18, of which they form a part, revolves with light passing through the member 17 and letters, or other features on this part 17, are projected on the window 10 and constantly pass th'ereover, so that it iseasy to read a sign on this rotor. The casing able hinged cover 19 which may be made in any conventional way, but is preferablyso made that air may enter through the openings 20 at the bottom ofthe casing 2, pass through suitable openings 21 in the floor 12 and about the lamp 6 and up through the vanes 16 to an opening 23 in the cover 19 and thence out at the rear. The front 3 may be secured to the casing 2 in any suitable way asby means of pins 24 which extend inwardly from flanges 25 which form a part of the front and into bayonet sockets 26 inthe casing 2.

The rotation of the rotor 18 causes the same to function as a moving picture device so that a picture, or letters, or numerals, or what not, may be projected on the window 10, as aboveset forth, whereby a; sign with constantly changing characteristics appears on this window. At the lower windowll is another sign which may be continuously illuminated, but is preferably intermittently illuminated, as above set forth. These signs are reliable and will function until light burns out, at which time it must be replaced for further operation of the device,

While I have shown and described one embodiment of my invention, it is obvious that it'is not restricted thereto, but that it is broad enough to cover all structures that come within the scope of the annexed claim. Having thus described my invention, what I claim is In an advertising device, two compartments, one having a horizontal portion forming a floor, said horizontal portion being secured to a vertical portion'forming a wall, flaring upper and lower parts integral with said wall forming one of said compartments, a rotatable sign with means for driving the same mounted upon said floor projecting, over said flaring parts, a window in front of said sign, means for illuminating said sign so that the movable sign may be read through said window, another sign in front of said flaring parts and means enrlosed in said last named compartment for illuminating said sign in front of the flaring parts, the two il.luminat ing means being separated by the upper flaring, part and a part of said vertical wall thereby forming a light-proof partition.
