In making a display of this kind the shelf or" step portion is made from a single sheet .of-card-. board or the like, by cutting out an angularly notched portion for each corner and then connecting the adjacent riser portions together by means of an extension such as flap 15 or to the sides of the supporting plate. With this construction the steps or supports present a neat and unitary appearance and by carefully cutting out the removed portions, the angular portions will fit closely together. Thus the supporting portion andthe dis'playportion rieed'be made only of two separate sheet parts which are cut, scored and secured together. Itis possible also to make similar structures with a larger number of parts by securing them "togetherbut usually this is neither as 'satisfactory in appearance nor as economical in construction. In these angular shelfor step displays the steps fold upwardly or-downwardlytogether and the sections of the same'step fold uponthemselves and together with the portions of the supporting plates so that in .the *collapsed'or folded-condition the structure is substantially flat and occupies minimum space for storage andshipment. As the parts naturally assume'their'supporting and display 'positions'in unfolding there is 'no difflculty in properly setting up the display for use.
