1 Claim.
The invention relates to a bottle container or holder and has for its primary object to provide an article of this character, wherein either milk or cream bottles can be conveniently carried when filled or empty without liability of the breaking thereof or the contact of one bottle with another.
Another object of the invention is the provision of an article of this character, wherein the body thereof is made from wire lengths, these being bent and joined in a manner to provide compartments for the reception of bottles, either milk or cream bottles, and when the latter are placed therein they can be readily transported or carried from one point to another without discomfort or liability of breakage.
A further object of the invention is the provision of an article of this character which is extremely simple in construction, thoroughly reliable and efficient for its purpose, light in weight yet strong, durable, and inexpensive to manufacture.
With these and other objects in view, the invention consists in the features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described in detail, illustrated in the accompanying drawing, which discloses the preferred embodiment of the invention, and pointed out in the claim hereunto appended.
In the accompanying drawing:
Figure l is a perspective view of an article constructed in accordance with the invention.
Figure 2 is a top plan view thereof.
Similar reference characters indicate corresponding parts throughout the several views in the drawing.
Referring to the drawing in detail, the container or holder constituting the present invention is designated generally at A and includes a frame 5 including the lower, intermediate and upper wire stretches 6, 7 and 8 respectively, these forming the front, ends and back to the frame 5, while joined with the lowermost wire 6 are the intermediate straight cross wires 9 and laterally bent outer wires 10 which together constitute the bottom to the frame 5.
The centrally located wires 9 and the wires 10 are carried upwardly at the front of the frame 5 and are joined with the wire 8, while interfitted with the upwardly extended portions 11 of such wires 9 and 10 and bent from the wires 6 and I are forwardly projected loops 12 which constitute pockets for bottles. The wires 10 have intermediate zigzag bends which serve to a great advantage as a resilient support for a bottle to prevent breakage in case it is dropped down forcibly within the container and thereby eliminating damage to the bottle or the like.
The frame 5 at its back has formed therewith a wire bail-like handle 13 which permits the carrying of the article in the hand. The outer most of the wires 9 at the back of the frame 5 extend upwardly as at 14 and are twisted at 15 about the wire 8 and looped at 16 about the bail handle 13, thereby materially strengthening the frame and the handle.
Disposed crosswise and forwardly inclined with relation to the frame 5 are the parting wires 17 so as to provide pockets within the frame 5 for bottles and thus maintain the latter separated when held within the frame 5 as should be obvious.
Made fast to the back of-the frame 5 and at the rear side of the bail handle 13 are the spaced transversely disposed channeled members 18 and 19 respectively, these functioning as a card rack to receive a recording card 20 which is removable from the rack at the will of the user of the article.
What is claimed is:
An article of the character described comprising a frame formed with lower, intermediate and upper wire stretches bent to provide pockets for bottles and constituting a front, ends and back to the frame, cross wires at the lowermost stretch to provide a bottom to' the frame, intermediate zigzag bends formed in certain of the cross wires at said bottom for yielding action on the forcible introduction of bottles within the frame, vertical portions formed with said cross wires and located outside of said stretches at the front and back of the frame and joined with the uppermost stretch, a bail handle formed at the back of the frame to extend above the uppermost stretch, and parting wires located across the frame at the uppermost stretch and between the pockets in the frame.
