Heretofore, it has been proposed to mount photographs, post cards and other pictures by means of small pocket-like devices adhesively secured to a mounting sheet in position to engage the .corners of the card or picture, and in some instances such devices have been made of transparent material, such as celluloid or cellophane, so as to leave the entire area of the card or picture clearly visible. The insert sheet, 4, is also provided with additional tabs, 5, adapted to register with slots, 6, out in the flaps, 2 and 3, of the transparent member, 1, so that when the sheet, 4, has been properly positioned under said flaps, 2 and 3, it may be interlocked with them by protrusion of the tabs, 5; through the slots, 6; and this arrangement .provides for more complete adhesive securement of the assembled parts to a mount since the gummed surfaces of the tabs, 5, will thusbe presented back of the transparent flaps, and can be attached directly to the mounting surface, This tends to hold the mounting-device more closely against the surface than if it were secured only by the adhesion of the central portion of the insert,-4. l

Figure 5 illustrates a device which is in all respects similar to that of Figure 3, except that it is. square in outline; this permits of an additional use. Instead of employing the device for completely enclosing a picture to be mounted, it may be cut diagonally into two triangular corner holders so thatwith four such trianagular holders a rectangular picture of considerable size may be secured to a mount in the manner indicated in Figures '7 and 8. The square 'device includes a transparent member, 11, with marginal flaps, l2, folded over at all four sides. If the device is used for completely enclosing a picture, or for example, for mounting a postage stamp in an album, the stamp or picture may be secured to the insert, 13, by means of the turned-over tabs, 18, leaving apertures, 18 which appear in Figure 5.

When employed in a corner holder of triangular form, the insert sheet, of course, becomes triangular, as'seen at 14 in Figure 6, and may be interlocked with the flaps, 12, by means of its tabs, 15. The corner of the picture, 20, which is to be mounted, is then slipped between the insert and the transparent outer face of the part, 11 The exposed gummed rear surface of the insert, 14, is then moistened, and, if desired, the flaps, 15, may also be moistened for adhesively securing the triangular corner holder to the face of the mount (not shown). If desired, the flap, 18, may be folded back over the front face of the insert sheet, 14, and moistened for adhesive securement to the back of the picture, 20, to fasten the latter permanently in the pocket.

I claim:

1. In combination, a cover sheet of transparent material formed with marginal flaps folded under its main area, and an insert of fibrous sheet material disposed between said main portion of the cover sheet and its flaps, said'ins'ert being adapted for securement of a picture, card or the like upon its front face under the transparent cover sheet, and being gummed on its back surface, the flaps being formed to leave a part ofsaid gummed surface exposed for adhesive attachment to a mount.

2. In combination, a cover sheet of transparent material formed with marginal flaps folded under its main area, and'an insert of fibrous sheet material disposed between said main portion of the cover sheet and its flaps, said insert being adapted to support a card, picture or the like upon its front face under the transparent cover sheet, and being gummed on its back surface, and having a tab foldable forwardly within the area of the card or picture for adhesive securement to the back of the same to position it on the insert; the flaps being formed to leave a part of said gummed surface of the insert exposed for adhesive attachment to a mount. 7

In combination, a cover sheet of transparent material formed with'marginal flaps folded under its main area, and an insert of fibrous sheet material' disposed between said main portion of the cover sheet and its flaps, meansfor adhesively attaching a card picture or the like to the face of said insert under the transparent cover sheet, its back surface, and the flaps being formed to leave a part of said gummed surface exposed for adhesive attachment to a moun 4. 5. In combination, a coversheet of transparent material formed with marginal flaps foldedunder its main area, andaninsert of fibrous shetmaterial disposed between said main portion of the cover sheet and its flaps, said insert being adapted to support a card, picture or the like upon its front face under the transparent cover sheet, and being gummed on its back surface, said flaps being slotted and said insert having tabs extending through the slots with the gummed sides of the tabs exposed for adhesive securement to a mount.

6. In combination, a cover sheet of transparent material formed with marginal flaps folded under its main area, and an insert of fibrous sheet material disposed between said main portion of the cover sheet and its flaps, said insert being adapted to support a card, picture or the like upon its front face under the transparent cover g sheet, and being gummed on its back surface, the

flaps being formed to leave a part of said gummed surface exposed for adhesive attachment to a mount; said flaps having openings, and said insert having tabs extending therethrough for positioning the insert with respect to the cover sheet.

'7. A mounting device comprising incombination a triangular cover sheet of transparent material formed with marginal flaps folded under its'triangular area along two sides thereof at right angles to each other, an insert sheet disposed between said cover and its flaps and gummed on its under surface, said flaps being formed to leave a portion of said under surface exposed for adhesive securement to a mount, whereby the space between saidco'ver sheet and the insert provides a pocket to receive the corner of a card or picture to be mounted, said insert having a tab foldable outwardly its gummed surface for adhesive securement to the back of the card or picture inserted in the pocket.

A mounting device comprising incombination a triangular cover sheet of transparent material formed with marginal flaps folded under its triangular area along two sides thereof at right angles to each other, an insert sheet disposed between said cover and its flaps and gummed on its under surface, said flaps being formed to leave a portion of said under surface exposed for adhesive securement to a mount, whereby the space between said cover sheet'and the insert provides'a pocket to receive thecorner of a card or picture to be mounted, means-for interlocking the insert with said cover sheet comprising tabs formed in the insert to extend through slots in the flaps.

A mounting device comprising in combination 'a triangular cover sheet of transparent material formed with marginal flaps folded under its triangular area along two sides thereof at right angles to each other, an insert sheet disposed between said cover and its flaps and gummed on its under surface, said flaps being formed to leave a portion of'said under surface exposed for adhesive securement to a mount, whereby the space between said coversheet and the insert provides a pocket to receive the corner of a card or picture to be mounted, means forinterlocking the insert with said cover sheet comprising tabs formed in the insert to extend through slots in the flaps, and adapted to lie flatly against said flaps with their gummed surfaces presented for securement to the mounting surface. 10. In combination, a cover sheet of transparent material formed with marginal flaps'folde'd under its main area, an insert sheet disposed'befor presenting "its tween said cover and flaps and gummed" onits 1 50 under surface, the flaps and the insert sheet being formed for interlocking with each other in a manner to cause a portion of the gummed surface of the insert sheet to be exposed for adhesive attachment to a mount.

11. A mounting device comprising in combination a triangular cover sheet of transparent material formed with marginal flaps folded under its triangulararea along two sides thereof at right angles to each other, an insert sheet disposed between said cover and flaps and gummed on its under surface, said flaps and the insert being formed for interlocking with each other in a manner to cause a portion of the gummed surface of the insert to be exposed for adhesive securement to a mount.

12. In combination, a cover sheet of transparent material formed with marginal flaps folded under its main area, and an insert of sheet material disposed between said main portion of the cover sheet and said flaps, said insert being adapted for carrying a picture card or the like on its front face under the transparent cover sheet and being gummed on its back surface, the aggregate width of each two opposite flaps being less than the corresponding dimension of the main portion of the cover sheet, and said flaps at each two adjacent sides having their proximate ends beveled at angles aggregating less than the angle between the lines of folding of said two flaps; whereby there is left exposed between the flaps a central portion of said gummed surface and portions radiating from said central portion to the corners of the main area.
