a substantially parallel plane with respect to top, sides and bottom of the stove.

A further object of the invention is to provide the front frame of the stove with means for conveniently and eifectively anchoring drawer tracks or guides at the front of the stove.

A further object of our invention is to provide a simple and convenient means forattaching the drawer tracks or guides to the back or rear wall of the stove.

A further object of the invention is the provision of simple means for mounting the service drawer upon and preventing disconnection thereof from the tracks or guides.

A still further object of the invention is toprovide means for effectually lubricating the g5 drawer tracks or guides.

In the accompanying drawings: Figure 1is a perspective view of a gas range or stove having the invention embodied therein; Figure 2 is a fragmentary transverse section 30 through Figure 1 showing the service drawer guide and the means for securing the same in place within the stove;

Figure I is a detail of the strap guide members. Referring more particularly to the drawings 1 denotes a gas stove or range comprising a front frame 2, top frame or plate 3 and flexible sheet metal side and

rear walls

4 and 5 respectively. The front frame 2 is provided with the usual door openings 6 through which the service drawers 7 for the various oven and other compartmerits may be moved inwardly and outwardly. As the drawers 7 and mounting therefor are of similar construction a description of one will suflice for all.

Drawer 7 is slidably mounted upon a pair of i 5 tubular tracks or guide members 8, positioned at each side of the opening 6; adjacent the bottom thereof. These members extend transversely or from front to rear of the stove in a horizontal plane and. are parallel one to the other. The bottom wall 9 of the drawer 7 is formed with transversely disposed semi-circular recesses 10 in which the tubes 8 are partially received when the drawer is mounted in place,

as illustrated in Figures 1, 2 and 3 of the drawings. Substantially U-shaped strap members or guides 11 are employed for the purpose of confining the drawer to and guiding the same in its movement along the tracks 8, and also to effect uniform distribution of lubricant along the tracks during the reciprocating movement of the drawer. Thus the arcuate portions of the straps are slightly concave, that is opposite side edges thereof are downwardly flared as at 12 so that heavy grease or other lubricant with which the tracks are coated will not be scraped off by the straps and caused to, accumulate at opposite ends of the tracks, and to the contrary, will be gently spread throughout the length of the tracks, in an obvious manner, by the contracted central portions 13 of the straps, these portions being in more or less constant contact or engagement with the tracks.

The front frame 2, preferably df cast metal. construction is formed with an inwardly and upwardly projecting arm 14, to which a bracket 15 'may be conveniently attached by means of a bolt 16. This bracket is formed at its upper end with a beveled lug 1'7, adapted to snugly engage within the bore of tubular tracks or tubes 8 adjacent the front end of the latter. And in order to facilitate assembly in the manner illustrated in Figure 5, the tubes are formed with cut away portions 18. Thus it is merely necessary for the workman to elevate the front end of the tube 8 to dotted line position A, then lower this end to dotted line position 13 and finally slide the tube to Figure 5 full line position. The rear end of the tube is then axially slid into suitable openings 19 formed in the sheet metal rear wall 5 of the stove. These openings are preferably formed by die operations to preferably produce hollow protuberances'ZO, which provide substantial seating surface for the tube ends, and which may be crimped tightly to the tube.

The body of each bracket 15 limits the forward movement of the drawer 7, when arcuate strips 11 contact therewith.

What we claim is:

1. In a stove having a drawer opening and a drawer, a pair of elongated round track members for said drawer, semi-circular recesses in the bottom of said drawer for guiding said drawer during sliding movements upon said track members and arcuate strap members attached at opposite ends to the bottom of said drawer so that their arcuate portions are in alignment with said recesses and hold said recesses of said drawer in proper alignment with said track members said strap members preventing withdrawal of said drawer from said track members.

2. In a stove according to claim 1, strap members having the opposite side edges of their arcuate portions flared downwardly to promote spreading of a lubricant throughout the length of the track members during sliding movement of the drawer.

3. In a stove having a drawer opening and a drawer, a. pair of elongated, round and hollow track members slightly extended at their rear ends through the rear wall of said stove and interlocked therewith and bracket members attached to the front portion of said stove and connected with the front ends of said track members, each bracket embodying a lug portion extended into the hollow interior of said track members for rigid support and axial alignment of said track members with said lugs.

4. In a stove according to claim 3, brackets having cone-shaped lugs extending at right angles to the body of said brackets, and track members including cut out portions close to their front end to permit detachable rigid connections to be made between said track members and brackets at points spaced from the end of said track member and arcuate strap members attached to the bottom of said drawer and encircling said track members to permit the use of the body of each bracket as a stop member for limiting the forward movement of said drawer.

5. In a stove having a front frame, a rear wall and a drawer, a tubular track member for slidably supporting said drawer, supporting means in said rear wall for the rear end of said track member and means on the front frame engaging within the bore of the track member for supporting the front end of the track member.
