'12p-17) V'The invention relates to burial vaults, and has for its object to provide a device ofthis character formed from a plastic lmaterialv and provided l with a cover formed from two sections, one fofv 110' of the vault, after the cover as a whole is placed in position. A further object is to provide the adjacent portions of the cover sections with registering chambers, thereby providing a dead air space in the cover for insulating the casket chamber and keeping it at an even temperature at all times. A further object is to form the vault cover from two sections, thereby allowing the same to be reasily placed in position and sealed at time of burial with the -minimum amount of labor.'

A further object is to provide the inner cover section with spring 'plates embedded therein andA the outer cover section with headed membersk adapted to spring between adjacent edges ,of the 'spring Aplate into recesses in therinner cover` plate to positions Where the spring plate will positively grip the headed member and hold the outer cover section in place. v.

A further object is to provide means whereby the headed members may move laterallybetween the spring plates for allowing for variations in manufacture, and adjustment when the outer cover member is placed in position.

A further object is to provide a burial vault Yconstructed in a manner whereby the upper por-V tion of the cover may be utilized as a marker above the ground. l

With the above and other objects in view the invention resides in the combination and arrangement of parts as hereinafter set forth, shown in the drawing, described and claimed, it

being understood that changes in the precise em bodiment of the `invention may be made within the scope of what is claimed without departing from the spirit of the invention.

From the above itv will be seen that a burial vault is provided which is simple in construction, the cover formed from a plurality of sections,

The invention having been set forthV what is claimed as new and useful is:-

1. The combination with a burial vault cover -formed from registeringsections having registering chambers to form an air space in the cover, interengaging parts carried by the cover sections and having aV sealing material therebetween, of means carried by oneof'the cover sections and linterengaging with means carried by the 'other cover-section and forming means whereby when the cover sections are forced to` gether onv the sealing means, said cover sections will be positively and rigidly attached sections and extending into the other section,` spring flange grip-ping plates imbedded in oneV ofv said sections and positioned to grip the bolts, said bolts having frusto conically shaped heads plates inclining and anchored inrelation to the boltk shank whereby when said bolt shanks and head are forced between the gripping plate ends,
