EACH COMBINATION INSULATOR AND MULTIPLE CONNECTER Filed Sept. 7, 1932 3 Sheets-Sheet 3 Inventor Jaberi' 6: 306% Patented Nov. 7, 1933 NITED STATES PATENT OFFICE COMBINATION msumron AND MULTIPLE commerce 1 Claim.
This invention is a, combined insulator ami multiple connecter tor supporting and connecting conductors such as are used for supplying consumers with electric service from electric lines, is and in aocorrlance with the present invention on apparatus of the above mentioned character is goroviclecl which can be readily and easily a plied to the pin of a. cross arm or other suitable support, consists of relatively few parts and will be found thoroughly emcient for the purpose designed.
The invention together with its numerous olo- Jects cod. sclvoritsges will be best understood from a; study of the following description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings wherein:
Figure l is elevstionsl view of the invention complete.
Figure 2 is s longitudinal sectional view therethrough.
Figure 3 is o transverse sectional view through connector or distributor bolt, cool esp therefor.

1 etc in detail to the drawings c seen t 5 designates {2- pin usually o o cross or other suitable support portion I the present invention there "3' which may be formed cteriel, in the present porcelain cool comprises Toocly woe sliovm iisviiig' an internally threaded on S to receive the threaded pertron oi tl' m o shown. [it its upper end. the body of the insulator l is provloleoi with s circular recess 9 the well 'oiwhich is provided with an internal annular groove iii as cool for the purisose to be hereinafter made manifest.
What may he termed a, distributor or con necter comprises s pole of brass one? of a. suitable length. The sole ii has s. grooved end portion 12 adopted tor disposition in recess 9 and soicl end portion is anchored within the recess through the means of on anchoring plug or collar 0 which includes c. substantially cylindrical internally ribbedoody fitting within the recess 9 with the F3 is perspective view oi the insulator internalribs 11a fitting in the grooves 12. The body of the plug 0 is also provided with an external rib or flange 13 engaged within the internal groove 10 as shown in Figure 2. Preferably the plugc is formed of sulphur, lead or insulator cement or other suitable material, which in moltened form is poured into the recess 9 subsequent to the placing of the grooved end 12 of the pole 11 within said recess.
the connector pole 11 is provided with a longitudinol series oi vertically spaced openings 14 extending transversely therethrough for accom- -modeting the ends of o'plurclity of wires or condoctors 15, alternate wires 15 extending from relatively opposite sides of the pole. The pole is also provided on relatively opposite sides thereof with threaded apertures 16 opening into the openings 15 cool accommodating binding screws l'l'. The uppermost hole leis oi relatively large diameter for receiving one end of the line wire 7.3, one; as shown in Figures l. emit instead of using screws it for electrically connecting wire it one. the umiermost one of the wires or @021" electors i with the pole ii blind set screws such as indicated at 19sec. t he used for this purpose. As will be noterl the blimi set screws 19 have their hostels provided with liexogonel recesses for the olicetioti ois suitable tool thereto for tiglit= e the screws 19 or loosening them as forms.
isle.
the connector pole ii there is provicieei o co formeei oi suite is insulating material, llie cap 26: comprises o 3i siershlv loslielite tool portion having extol opening there ouch. for eccomrootl ting the "sole ii and also he" tog rsgiiel openings ill for accommodating sires i5, it. it wi" noted that the open s 21 are so Oeoi lot when the cop 2U steel on the pole l oterriote openings 2?. will it closed at one one. (Eee Fig. 2.)
gs of cork or other suitable msteriol (not s own) may to passed/through the openings 21 for closing the open end of the openings "14. The ll such plugs however will not be accessory ii less the combined insulator and iiistrihiitor is used where atmospheric conditions are such as to cause ross and copper corrosion, for ear-- simple when the olevlce is used where atmospheric conditions are such that there is almost a. con= tinuous fog lselt. I
wiil be also noted that the body of the cop so at its lower end is circumferentiolly enlarged, cost is provided with s circular recess 22, receivthe upper end of the body of the insulator '3. ts suggested in Figure 1 one or more of the 1i tiesfbieti c till not
From the foregoing description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings it is thought that the construction, operation and advantages of this invention will be readily understood by those skilled in the art to which the invention appertains.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is:
In combination, an insniator comprising a body provided with a threaded socket having internal threads, at connecter pole secured at one and ifilii
