6 claims. (o1. 248-20) This invention relates to improvements in flowerpot holders, and has for its primary object to provide an improved device of simple construction for efiiciently mounting a flowerpot upon a suitable support, such as a wall, pillar, or window sill. v

A more specific object of the invention is to provide a flowerpot holder of the above kind having improved means for retaining engagement with theflowerpct and its drip saucer, whereby accidental displacement of the pot and saucer yfrom the holder is effectively prevented.

Other and more specific objects of the present invention will become apparent from the following description when considered in connection with the accompanying drawing, and the invention consists in the novel form, combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter more fully described, illustrated in the drawing and claimed.

Referring more in detail to the drawing, the present flowerpot holder or support comprises generally a mounting bracket 5, a lower 4supporting ring 6 for the dripv saucer S, and an upper fiowerpot retaining ring 9 inwhich the ilowerpot 7 is positioned when the device is in use with the flowerpot 7 seated within the drip saucer 8 and the latter seated within the lower supporting ring 6.

The mounting bracket 5 is preferably of sheet metal construction and bent from a strip of metal to provide a vertical intermediate portion 10 and spaced horizontal end flanges 11 and 12 respectively carrying the rings 6 and 9. The vertical bracket portion 10 has a pair of vertically elongated slots 13 through which screws or like fastening elements 14 are adapted to be passed and driven into a suitable support 15 for attaching the holder to said support for vertical adjustment relative to the latter. The flanges 1l and 12 are provided with spaced openings 16 and ay transversely elongated opening 17 respectively, the ends of the elongated opening or slot 17 being vertically alined with the openings 16 for reception of the down turned ends 18 of the pot retaining ring 9. This ring 9 is preferably of split spring wire construction normally tensioned so that its ends separate as shown in Figures 2 and 4, to effect and maintain engagement of the inner horizontal portions 19 of said ends engaged under angular keepers or clips 20 struck upwardly from the upper flange 12 infront of slot 17 so as to face toward each other. In this way the retaining ring 9 is effectively detachably connected with the bracket 5, disengagement of the ring 9 from the bracket being effected by pressing the opposite sides of ring 9jso as to bring the horizontal end portions.l9-of said ring into contiguous relation where they are disengaged from and disposed between the keepers or clips 20. When this is effected, the ring 9 may be liftedupward bodily so as to withdraw the down turned end portions 18 from openings 16 and slot 17. Obviously, a reversal of this operation is necessary to effect connection of ring 9 with bracket 5. This provides for quick assembly or separation of the parts and permits substitution of rings of different sizes in accordance with the size ofthe flowerpot to be supported.

The lower supporting ring 6 is also preferably of split form and formed of relatively stiff wire, the ends of the ring 6 being extended horizontally and then turned upwardly. These upturned ,end portions of ring 6 are threaded a considerable distance as at 21, and they freely pass through a further vpair of openings 22 Aprovided in the lowerange l1 of bracket 5, nuts 23 being v with the bracket 5.

The free end of flange Y11 of bracket 5 is provided with spaced down turned lips or lugs 24 arranged to engage the adjacent side of the flowerpot 7 to steady and assist in supporting the same. By vertically adjusting the ring 6, the

drip saucer may be positioned against the bottom of the flowerpot.

From the foregoing description it will be seen that I have provided a simple and efficient flowerpot holder of the character described which is economical in construction and otherwise well adapted to meet with all of the requirements for a successful commercial use. Minor changes are contemplated within the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed.

What I claim as new is:

1. A ilowerpot holder of the character described comprising a mounting bracket having means to facilitate connection thereof with a suitable support and provided with spaced horizontal flanges, a drip saucer supporting ring carried by the lower flange of the bracket, .and a ilowerpot receiving and retaining ring carried by the upper flange of the bracket.

2. A flowerpot holder of the character described comprising a mounting bracket having means to facilitate connection thereof with a suitable support and provided with spaced hori- Zontal flanges, a drip saucer supporting ringfcarried by the lower flange of the bracket, and a owerpot receiving and retaining `ring `carried by the upper flange of the bracket, :said flower flange of the bracket having down turned lips arranged'to vengage the side of the flowerpot'to steady and assist -in supporting'the latter.

A ilowerpot holder of the character described comprising .a .mounting bracket `.having means to 'facilitate connection thereof with a'suitable support and lprovided withspaced horizontal flanges, a .drip saucer supporting ring carried by the lower flange ofthe bracket, a'flowerpot receiving and retaining .ring carried by the upper flange of thebracket, said lower flange-of the bracket having down turned lips arranged to engage the sideof the 1flowerpot-tosteady :and assist in supporting .the latter, and Ameansr 'to tvertically adjust said ilower supporting ring relative to the bracket.

A ilowerpct holder .of ithe `.character described comprising-a bracket composed of a vertical .intermediate portion and. horizontal upper and `lower end "flanges, -said intermediate .portion having openings to `receive fastening elements whereby the -bracket :may be=secured to a suitable support, .the upper rflange having :a transverse elongated slot and being formed with upstanding angular keepers in front of theslot and facing toward each other .in-spaced relation, -the lower flange of the bracket `having spaced openings vertically .alined with the ends of said slot, an upper 'ilowerpot receiving and retainingring of split Aresilient lconstruction normally tensioned to effect separation of the ends thereof,-saidrends of the ring having horizontal and vertical portions respectively engageable under the keepers and in the 'elongated slot and said pair of open# ingstoI detachably connect the ring to the bracket, and a lower drip saucer supporting ring carried by the lower flange of the bracket.

5. A flowerpot .holder of the character described comprising a.-bracket composed of a verf tical intermediate portion and .horizontal upper and lower end-flangessaid intermediate portion having openings to receive fastening elements whereby the bracket may be secured to a suitable support, the upper flange having a transverse elongated slot and being formed with upstanding angular keepers in front of the slot and facing toward each other in spaced relation, the lower flange of the bracket having spaced openings vertically alined with the ends of said slot, an upper flowerpot receiving and retaining ring of split resilient construction normally tensioned to effect separation of the ends thereof, said ends of the ring having horizontal and vertical por- Ltions respectively engageable under the keepersl and in the elongated slot and said pair of openings to detachably connect the ring to the bracket, a lower drip saucer supporting ring carried by the lower flange of the bracket, said lower 'flange of the bracket having a further pair of openings, the lower supporting ring being of split construction and having upturned threaded ends extending through the last-named openings-of the llower flange, and nuts threaded upon said upturned ends of the lower supporting yring-above and below said :lower Vflange for connecting 4the lower supporting ring to Athelbracket .for vertical adjustment relative to the latter.

6- A vflowerpot holder of the vcharacter described comprising a bracket composed of a ver-y tical intermediate portion and horizontal upper and `lower end ilanges,.said intermediate portion having openings .to receive fastening elements whereby the bracket may be secured to a .suitable support, the upper flange having a transverse elongated `slot and .being formed withupstanding angular keepers vin front of the slot and facing toward each other iin spaced relation, the lower flange -of the bracket having Aspaced openings vertically alined with the ends of saidfslot, an upper -ilowerpot `receiving and'retaining ring of split resilient construction normally tensionedto effectv separation of the ends thereof, 'saidends of the ring having horizontal and vertical portions respectively engageable under the .keepers and in the elongated slot and said pair of openings to detachably connect'the ringto thefbracket, a lower drip saucer supporting ring carried by the lower flange of the bracket, said -lower flange of the-brackethaving a ,further pairrof openings, the lowersupporting ring being .of splitconstruction and having upturned threaded ends extendingthrough the last-named openings of the lower flange, and nuts threaded 4upon said upturned ends iof the lower supporting ring above and below said lower flange for connecting the lower supporting ring to the bracket for vertical adjustment relative to the latter, said -lower .flange ofthe bracket having downturned lips at its free end arranged to engage the side of the flowerpot to steady-the latter.
