Description

E. M. WHYLER.
SCALE-PAN.-
N0. 19Z,ZO7. Patented June 19,1877.
I WITNESSES: i INVENTOB ATTORNEYS.
N-F'ETERS, PHOTOLITHQGRAFHER, WASHINGTON D C UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
EDWARD M. WHYLER, on HAYS cITY, KANSAS.
IMPROVEMENT IN SCALE-FANS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 192,207, dated June 19,1877; application filed March 3,1877.
1 of my improved funnel scale-scoop.
The invention will first be described in con nection with the drawing, and then pointed out in the claim.
. The outer part or scoop A of the pan is made in the general form of a section of a hollow cone, and the other part, A, is made in the general form of a hollow cone, with a part of one side cut away, as shown in the figure.
The parts A A are seamed or soldered to gether, and the apex of the part A is cut ofl, and in the opening thus formed is secured a short tube, B, which serves as a funnel for pouring substances weighed into bags and boxes.
For pouring substances into bottles, cans, and other narrow-mouthed vessels, a detachable funnel is fitted upon the tube B, as shown in the figure. The tube B also serves as a handle for convenience in handling the scoop.
To the bottom of scoop A A is attached a rim, E, to serve as a foot, and to the inner side of which is attached a small tube, D, closed with a small screw plu g or cap, to adapt it to receive shot or other small weights for balancing the scales.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent A funnel scale-scoop provided with the tube D, as and for the purpose specified.
