2 Claims. (01. 25 131) My present invention relates toan improved tiestrap for use in connection with the erection of concrete and similar building walls. The tie strap of my invention is designed for use not only in bracing and tieing or joining the pairs of walls which provide the form or mold in which the building wall is erected, but they also I perform the functions of gages in properly spacing the; walls of the mold to facilitate theconstruction of the mold.
Means are provided whereby the tie straps may readily be assembled and attached to the opposite walls of the form, and after the concrete wall sets and the form-walls have been removed, the. projecting ends of the tie straps may either be used for anchoring means of other building elements, or these ends may readily be broken oil flush with the facesof the concrete Wall. 0 e
The invention consists in certain novelfeatures of construction and combinations and arrangements of parts as will hereinafter be more fully set forth and claimed. In the accompanying drawing I have illustrated one complete example of the physical embodiment of my invention, and a slightly modified type of as strap, wherein theparts are combined and arranged according to the best mode I: have thus far devised for the practical application of the principles of my invention.
Figure 1 is a perspective view of onelof the metal tie straps-embodying my invention. Figure 2 is a perspective view of a portion of a form for concrete walls showing the use of the i tie straps. Figure'3 is a vertical sectional detail straps. Figured is a sectional detail view at line 44 of Figure Bshowing the use of a modifled type, of strap. nails N' are extracted and the studding and mold boards are removed, leaving the tie straps in the concrete wall with their ends projecting. These projecting ends may be broken off flush with the face of the wall, or they may be used as anchoring means for other parts of the wall, as for instance a brick face for the concrete wall.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is 1. A tie strap for use with wooden concrete forms consisting of a strip of sheetmetal intended for :placement on edge in vertical kerfs;
