My invention consists of a floor waxer and polisher constructed and arranged all as hereinafter more particularly described and illustrated in the accompanying drawing in which Fig. 1 is a perspective view of my device.

My device comprises a metal sole plate 1 of substantially flat iron shape, formed upon its upper face with a cylindrical fluid wax reservoir 2. i

Centrally of the portion of the plate 1 forming the bottom of the reservoir 2 I provide a fluid wax feeding orifice 3 conically formed at its upper portion 4 to receive a cone shaped valve head 5 formed upon the lower end of a valve rod. Such rod is threaded at its upper portion 6-and contained within a central orifice 7 in the top 8 of the reservoir, a valve actuating handleor hand wheel 9 being secured upon the upper end of the rod. of the rod is of less diameter than the upper threaded portion 6, so that when such upper threaded portion is unscrewed from out of the orifice 7 the valve rod can be lifted from out of the reservoir. The lower face of the plate 1 is furnished with a waxing pad 14.- formed with an orifice 15 underneath the wax feeding orifice 3. This pad is of slight- 1y greater width and greater lengththan the plate 1 and its ends 16 are lappedover the top of the ends of the plate 1 and secured thereto by a'pair of snap studs 17, which enter zfemale stud members l8'inthe turned formed atits lower end with a fork member 20 which is pivotally mounted on a pair of trunnions 21 extendingoutwardly from the sides of the reservoir 2. V v y In putting the waxer in condition for use, the valve rod is unscrewed from the orifice 7 and removed from the reservoir. The fluid wax is then inserted into the reservoir through such orifice. In order to prevent the fluid wax from running out of the reservoir throughthe orifice 3. I furnish a fabric or metal disc 22 of substantially the same diameter as theorifice 15 in the waxing pad, and such disc is adapted to be temporarily inserted into theorifice 15 so as to close the bottom of the orifice 3 during the filling operation. When the reservoir is filled the valve degree, thus lifting the valve head 5 from its seat in the orifice 3. This permits the fluid wax in the reservoir to pass downward- 1y through the orifices 3 and 15 on to the floor to be distributed by the pad 14.

The threaded portion 6 of the valve rod is a comparatively loose fit within the threaded orifice 7 so that when the rod is loosened to open the orifice 3 for the flow of fluid wax, air can enter the reservoir through the orifice 7 After the wax has been distributed upon the floor the valve rod is rotated to close the orifice 3, and the pad 14 is replaced by polishing pad or by a brush.

The brush 23 illustrated in Fig. 4 is of the same shape as the sole plate 1, being a little larger in size and formed with an upturned lip 24 whereby a sole plate receiving depression 25 is formed in the top of the brush. The

- pleted'with the'brush, a final finish may be given-through the use of a suitable polishing medium, such as a lambs wool pad which can be either positioned underneaththe brush and slid over the floor or can be used to replace the brush and be secured to the sole plate in thesame manner as the'waxing pad 14.

From the foregoing description it will be apparent that I have produced an extremely simple andyet effective waxer and polisher for the use of fluid wax, in w iich the various waxingand polishing pads, brushes etc., can be quickly attached and removed without the exercise of any skill upon the part of the operator, and although I have shown and described a particular embodiment of my invention it is to be understood that I can make such changes and alterations as I may from time to time deem necessary without departing from the spirit of my invention as set forth in the appended claims.

lVhat I claim as my invention is:

\ 1. In a floor waxer and polisher, the combination witha wax distributing pad positioned upon the under face of the polisher, and a fluid wax reservoirincorporated in the polisher and having an orifice communicating with an orifice in the pad; of a valve con trolling the flow of fiuid wax through the orifice in the reservoinand a removable valve actuating rod extending'upwardly from the valve and threaded through a fillingorifice in the top of the reservoir.

In a fioor w xer and polisher, the combinatlon with a wax distributlng pad-post tioned upon the under face of the polisher and r a fluid wax reservoir incorporated in the polisher and having an orifice communicating with an orifice in the pad; a needle valve seat formed at the inner-end of the reservoir orifice, a needle valve seatingupon the valve 0 seat, and a removable valve actuating rod of enlarged diameter at its upper end and having such'enlarged diameter portion threaded through a filling orificein the reservoir, the
