This invention relates to new and useful improvements in a smokers glove.

In recent years it has been the custom for ladies to smoke. They experience annoyance in that the fingers with which they hold the cigarettes become discolored.

It is an object of this invention to construct a smokers finger glove which is characterized by the ability of engaging upon a pair of adjacent fingers with which a person holds a cigarette for the purpose of shielding the fingers against discoloration and against tobacco odors.

It is another object of this invention to construct a smokers finger glove which is characterized by sheet material in the form of fingers for covering adjacent fin ers of ones hand and joined together at the ottom in an inte al unit.

A still rther object of this invention is to arrange means on the bottom edge of the glove for holding it tightly upon ones hand.

This invention has a still further object, which consists in cutting ofi the tips of the gloves so that the fingers may be exposed and thus prevent annoyance.

Another one of the objects of this invention is the construction of a smokers finger glove which is characterized by the provision of one or more pieces of reinforcements upon the fingers thereof and adapted to better hold cigarettes. w

Furthermore, as another object, it is proposed'to provide a means whereby the reinforcements mentioned in the previous paragraph may be adjusted.

A still further object of this invention is the construction of a smokers glove of the class mentioned which is of simple, durable construction, dependable in use and efiicient in action, and which can be manufactured and sold at a reasonable cost.

For further comprehension of the inven- 4 tion, and of the objects and advantages there of, reference will be had to the appended claims in which the various novel features of the invention are more particularly set forth.

In the accompanying drawing forming a material part of this disclosure Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a smokers finger glove constructed according to this invention.

Fig. 2 is a similar view but illustrating a modified form of glove, a portion thereof being shown in section.

Fig. 9 is a fragmentar sectional view taken on the line 99 of Fig. The smokers finger glove, according to this invention, comprises sheet material in the form of fingers 10 and 11 for covering adjacent fingers on ones hand and joined together at the bottom 12 in an integral unit. A bulged edge 13 is formed along the bottom edge of the oined fingers for the purpose of providing tension to hold the glove upon ones hand. In Fig. 2 a modification of the invention has been disclosed in which the tips of the fingers are cut away so as to provide openings 15 through which the finger tips of ones hand may project. In other respects this form of the invention is similar to the preferred form, corresponding parts being indicated by similar reference numerals.

In Fig. 3 a still further modification of the invention has been disclosed in which the bottom edge of the joined fingers is finished with a rough edge 16. In this form of the invention and in the forms illustrated in Figs. 1 and 2, the material may be of any desirable color and quality. Preferably, it should be of such material that can be turned completely out so that both sides may be used.

An ideal material for the purpose would be thin rubber so that it may engage against ones fingers conveniently.

In Figs. 4 and 6 inclusive, another modi- 5 fication of the invention has been disclosed in which reinforcement pieces 17 are shown mounted upon the fingers for the purpose of better holding a cigarette. These reinforcement pieces are arranged so as to be ca able of assuming various positions alon the ger lengths. They are in the form 0 wide portions having strai ht recesses 18 for actin against the sides 0% a cigarette and backward extending prongs 19 for encircling the fingers. These prongs have a large degree of figiliency so that they tend to collapse the ers.

A rigid ring 20 is located within each of the fingers and is formed with peripheral projecting ridges 21 capable of forcing the material of the glove into corresponding grooves 22 formed in the inner face of the portions 18 and 19 of the reinforcements. The location of the reinforcements may be changed by manually prying the prongs 19 slightly open, changing the location of the finger ring 20 in its new location. The ridges 21 and the grooves 22 serve to tightly clamp the reinforcements on the fingers.

In Figs. 7 to 9 inclusive another modification of the invention has been disclosed in which reinforcements 23 are provided which are of longitudinal sha e. These reinforcements are also provi ed with transverse grooves 18 to accommodate the curvature of the sides of a cigarette. The reinforcements 23 have projecting prongs 24 which encircle the fingers of the glove. A ring 25 is located within each of the fingers and is formed with a groove 26 for accommodating the prongs 24 The operation of the article consists in its location upon adjacent fingers which are to hold a cigarette. After smoking is completed it may be taken off and placed in ones handbag. In the form shown in Fig. 2, the

finger nails may be used to lift up articles even though the glove is in place upon ones hand.

In the form illustrated in Figs. 4 to 9 inelusive, the reinforcement members may be adjusted to various locationsupon the fingers so that a cigarette may be supported according to the best tastes of the smoker.

While I have shown and described the preferred embodiment of my invention, it is to be understood that I do not limit myself to the precise construction herein disclosed and the right is reserved to all changes and modifications coming within the scope of the invention as defined in the appended claims.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by United States Letters Patent is 1. In combination with a finger glove having two fin ers for covering adjacent fingers on ones fiand, cigarette holding pieces mounted upon said fin ers and having opposite curved recesses or engagingagainst the opposite sides of a cigarette, and means for ad ustably holding said holding ieces comprising a ring withm each finger an having ridges engaging through the materials of the fingers and into grooves in said holdin pieces, the holding pieces being provide with prong ortions extending substantially around the gers.

2. In combination with a fin er glove having two fingers for covering a jacent fingers on ones and, cigarette holding pieces mounted upon said fin ers and having opposite curved recesses or engaging against the opposite sides of a cigarette, and means for adjustably holding said holding pieces comprisin a ring within each finger and having ri ges engaging through the materials of the fingers and into grooves in said holding pieces.
