Filed May 27, 1932 Patented Mar. 21, 1933 warren STATES PATENT oFFicE MARTHA E. JOHNS, NORFOLK, VIRGINIA j i i marily designed for sleeping garments such as a nightgown or pajamas, that is not only useful as such, but can act in the capacity as a boudoir pillow due to its fanciful design, when the garment is disposed therein.
A further object of the invention is to provide a garment bag. of the character'set forth, that is simple in construction, inex pensive to manufacture, extremely ornamental, and eificient in operation and service.
This invention also consists in certain other features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawing and specifically pointed out in the appended claims.
In describing my invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanying drawing wherein like characters denote like or corresponding eral views, and in which: 7

Referring to the drawing in detail and particularly to Figure 3, it will be noted that my bag is made from a sheet 1 of fabric of any kind of material such as silk, rayon, linen, cotton or the like and the erably of rectangular form, with hems 2 arlongitudinal edges thereof.

It is thoughtfromthe foregoing description that the advantages and novel features of my invention will be readily apparent.
I desire it to be understood that I may make changes in the construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several I parts, provided that such changes fall with the top and bottom in the scope of the appended claims.
What I claim is:
1. A bag comprising a single sheet of fabric having its side edges stitched together, hems arranged at the top and bottom of the sheet of material, draw strings arranged in said hems, ends secured to lastmentioned draw strings being passed through the fabric in spaced parallel relationwith respect to each other-and inrunning stitch formation whereby to'provide a ruffled portion upon movement of the fabric upwardly on the last mentioned'draw strings the first mentioned draw strings beingadapted to draw the ends of the sheet together to give a. pillow effect with the ruffled portion disposed above the remaining portion, of the means secured to the bag and ornamental ruffied portion.
2. A bag of prising a single sheet of fabric having its side edges secured together, hems arranged at of said sheet, draw strings passed through said hems, draw strings having one of their ends secured to the sheet in row formation across the longitudinal center thereof, said last mentioned draw strings being disposed in spaced parallel relation with respect to each other and passed through the fabric in running stitch formation, said last mentioned draw strings extending through the lower'hem and being adapted ,to provide a rufiled portion forming a partof said bag,
