Homannv Application filed .Tune 11,
The present invention relates to a holder and has for its primary object to provide, in a manner as hereinafter set forth, a holder embodying means for supporting in a single unit and in a manner for convenient use the lvarious articles or devices ordinarily used in the promotion of mouth hygiene.
Other objects of the invention are to provide a. holder of the aforementioned character which will be simple in construction strong, durable, eiiicient and reliable in use, attractive in appearance, compact, and which may be manufactured at low cost.
All of the foregoing and .still further objects and advantages of the invention will become apparent'from a study of the following specification, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings wherein like characters of reference designate corresponding parts throughout the several views, and wherein Figure 1 is a view in front elevation of a holder constructed in accordance with the present invention, showing the same enclosed in a cellophane wrapper.
Figure 2 is a View in side elevation thereof with the wrapper removed.
Figure 3 is a detail view 1n perspective of one of the paste tube supporting members.
Figure 4 is a detail view in side elevation showing one of the brush supporting hooks. Figure 5 is a view in horizontal section through an intermediate portion of the supporting plate showing, in plan, the bottle supporting member.
Referring now to the drawings in detail, it will be seen that embodiment of the present invention which has been illustrated comprises a supporting plate 1 of suitable size, shape and material, preferably wood. In its upper portion the plate 1 is provided with an opening 2 for receiving a suitable supporting element, such as a nail, for mounting said plate in position on a wall or other'vertical support. The opening 2 is arranged substantially on the longitudinal-center of the plate 1. The plate 1 is furtherV provided with another opening 3 in an upper corner portion thereof for the passage of anotherk securing yelement which is driven into the wall or other 1932. v Serial No. 616,711.'
support for preventing swinging.l ofv the plate `and for retaining said'plate in a substantially vertical positio i Y On an upper portion of the plate 1 there is provided a horizontal series of hooks-4 upon which tooth brushes 5 are suspended, said tooth brushes 5 having openingsl 6 in the free end portions, of their handles, as'usual, in which the hooks 4 are engaged. Suitable indicia is provided above each hook 4, as .at 7, for properly designating the different tooth brushes. n
The hooks 4 are arranged to one side of the longitudinalcenter of the plate 1. On the other .sideof the longitudinal center of the plate 1 there is mounted a horizontally disposed metallic'loop 8 having its end portions v turned outwardly and secured to the plate 1, as at 9. The loop 8 is for the reception of a bottley 10 which preferably contains a mouth wash and which is readily removable. Spaced below the loop 8 isa split eye screw 11 which is anchored in the plate 1, the eye of said screwk being horizontally disposed. The bottle 10 rests on the eye screw 11.
Spaced below the screw 11 on the plate 1 is avpair of horizontally aligned loops 12 for the reception of a dental ilosscontainer 13. Each loop 12 isformed from a strip of resilient metal bent to proper'form and having its end portions extending in parallel, abutting engagement with each other and secured to the plate 1, as indicated at 14 and as illustrated to advantage in Figure 2 of the drawings.k yThis construction permits limited eX- pansion and contraction of the loops 12 for frictionally gripping the container 13. Thus, the container 13 is frictionally retained in position on the holder and the closure 15 may be removed from said container for the withdrawal of floss therefrom. Of course, p
It will thus be seen that I have provided a holder embodying means whereby the various articles or devices ordinarily used for cleansing the mouth will be supported in a manner for convenient removal and replacement. The holder, with all of the de# vices, or supplies thereon is to be sold as a package and to this end is enclosed i-n a cello-l phane wrapper which, in addition to protecting and sealing the brushes 5, etc. permits the same to be displayed in an attractive manner, Y
It is believed that the many advantages of a holder constructed in accordance withv the present invention will be readily understood,
and although the preferred embodiment of the invention is as illustrated a'nd described, it is to beunderstoodthat changes in the deL tails of construction and in the combination and arrangement of parts mayfberesorted l to which will fall within the scope of the invention as claimed.
What is claimed is A holder yparticularly adapted to the administration of oral hygiene for articles M consisting of toothbrushes, a tube of toothpaste, and independent vials containing dental floss and oral antiseptics comprising a flat vplate having a pairof openings spaced from each other, one for receiving a support- 30 ing fastener and the other to receive a fastener to prevent swingingmovement of the Vplate about the supportingfastener; a loop of metal disposed-horizontally and anchored to the plate on one portion thereof for sup- .'35 porting a vial'of loral antiseptic; an eye anchored to the plate below the loop to form alimit stop for said vial, a pair of spaced concentric loops anchored to the plate below the first mentionedV loop to support a vial of dental floss ;r a series of alined arms anchored tothe plate along the lower margin thereof to form a trough for supporting toothpaste tubes; .a series of alined hooks anchored to Vthe'plate to one side of said loops adapted for supporting tooth brushes; and said plate embraced by a transparent moisture-proof twrapper encompassing said loops, arms, -hooks and their retained articles.
AIn testimony whereof I afX my signature.
