The garments with the hanger on which they are folded may then be placed in a suit case 12, or other receptacle with the eyes 9 engaging the tongues 10 of two clips 11 mounted as described in the receptacle.
In the form shown in Figs. 4 and 5, the U shaped member is swung from the'position shown in Fig. 4 in solid lines to the position shown in dotted lines in said ligure, thus holding the garments preparatory to their being folded around the upper portions 8 and the horizontal part 1, as shown in Fig. 5.
As shown in F ig. 6, a ring 21 may encircle the inclined portions 4 at their place of crossing, and to this ring may be removably attached a hanger 22 of the usual construction.
In the form shown in Fig. 8, the construction corresponds to the garment supporting parts shown in Figs. 1 and 2, with the omission of the U shaped member, and in the horizontal lower portion upon which the trousers are folded being a cylinder 23 into the ends of which are inserted the turned in portions of the end portions 3. A transverse brace 24 connects the end portions 3 above the cylinder 23.
Other modifications of my invention, within the scope of the appended claims, may be made without departing from the spirit thereof.
I claim:
1. A garment hanger comprising a lower horizontal garment supporting portion, two end portions extending respectively upwardly from the ends of said horizontal portion, two transverse garment supporting portions extending respectively from the upper ends of said end portions to a place of juncture, two upper portions extending in opposite directions from said place of juncture parallel with said lower portion, and a U shaped member having its arms respectively pivoted to said upper portions so as to be swung to and from a position in which its transverse part will be adapted to bear against a garment supported by said transverse portions.
2. A garment hanger comprising a lower horizontal garment supporting portion, two end portions extending respectively upwardly from the ends of said horizontal portion, two garment supporting portions inclining upwardly from the upper ends of said end portions and crossing each other .at a place of juncture, two upper portions extending respectively in opposite directions from the upper ends of said inclined portions parallel with said lower horizon-tal portion, and a VU shaped member having itsarms respectively pivoted to said upper portions so as to be swung to and from a position in which its transverse part will be adapted to bear against a garment supported by said inclined portions.
