Description

Patented Jan. 3, 1933 UNITED STATES NELS PHILAJ'A, 0F EL PASO, TEXAS COBB Application led lay 10,
This invention also consists in certain other features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawing and s ecifcally pointed out in the appended c aims.
In describing the invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanying drawing wherein like characters denote like or l corresponding parts throughout the several views, and in which Figure 1 isa side view of a comb constructed in accord nce with this' invention and showing the comb of curvature shape,
Fig. 2 is a similar view but. showing the comb of straight shape.
Fig. 3 is a fragmentary longitudinal seotional View, the section being taken on line 3--3 of Fig. 4. v 1
Fig. 4 is a section on line 4-4 of Fig. 1.
In these views, the numeral 1 indicates the rear or top edge of the comb which is of solid construction and the numeral 2 indicates the teeth of one row and the numeral 3 the teeth of the other row, these teeth being alternately arranged as shown in Fig. 3 and having their outer ed es rounded and their inner edges iat as a so shown in Fig. 3.
The teeth of the two rows slightly converge to the free end as shown in F1g. 4, and sa1d teeth taper from their point of connection with the part 1 to their free ends, as also shown in Fig. 4. Asv will be seen in Figs. 3 and 4, the two rows of teeth form a central space 4. As before stated, this t pe of comb helps considerably in removing andrui and loose hair from the head and the space 4 between the two rows of teeth which will hold a considerable amount of dandruff and loose 1932. Serial No. 810,471.
hair. This type of comb also enables the hair to be combed quicker than ordinary combsand the hair stays combed better and for a longer length of time than with an ordinary comb.
It will of course be understood that the improved comb can be made of different sizes with the teeth larger and further apart when used by ladies or persons with thick or long hair, and if desired the teeth may be made of substantially squa e shape in cross section for use by those persons whose heads have an excessive amount of dandruif. As be' fore stated, either the oval type shown in Fig. 1 or the straight type shown in Fig. 2 can have the invention embodied therein or other types of combs can be constructed in accordance with the invention.
It is thought from the foregoin description that the advantages and nove features of the invention will be readily apparent.
It is to be understood that changes may be made in the construction and in the combination and arrangement ofthe several parts provided that such changes may be made which fall within the scope of the appended claims.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is 1. A comb of the class described having two rows of teeth with a central space between the rows, the teeth of one row being alternately arranged with those of the other and the teeth of the tworows converging to their free ends with said free ends' of the teeth of one row being spaced laterally from the ends of the teeth of the other row.
2. A comb'of the class described having two rows of teeth with a central space between the'rows, the teeth of one rowbei alternately arranged with those of the other, and each tooth having a rounded front edge and a flat inner edge.
In testimony whereof I aflx m signature.
NELS P AJA.
