This drive by means .of interconnecting levers; haspthe disadvantagethat it becomes wornout by the swinging mass and that for thisreasonthe exactvworling of the machine is disturbed, -According to the invention this drawback is obviated by the use of a rotaryV take-up .in kcombination with shoe-sewingymachines having a hooked needle. c YRotary take-up devices are` not vnew-and havea'lready been used in the common sewing-machines for textile fabrics. But all` these known machines providedwith a; ro-y j tary #take-up have an eye-needle.. That means that the thread runsthrough aslot Y of theneedle, rwhereasain'machines.having hook-needles' the thread must be laid into the hook of the needle bycomparativelyintrif cate devices. It has thereforebeen'an easy looper andthe pull-olf. vAs the looping can matter to provide the sewing machines workL ingl with ,eye-needles with a rotary take-up. -Butn machines having a hookedfneedle not only the stitchesk are to be formed but the thread is also to be laid into the hook of the needle.
