ash tray, that not only is capable of use in expeditiously extinguishing a cigar or cigarette, but it can be done in a manner whereby the cigar or cigarette. remains undamaged which of course is especially desirable with respect to a cigarette as the latter is easily n@ damaged, with the result after the cigarette is extinguished by my device it can be relighted and used if desired.
A further object of the invention is to provide a device of the character set forth, that is simple in construction, inexpensive to manufacture, and extremely ecient in operation and service.
This invention also consists in certain other leatures of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawing and specifically pointed out in the appended claim. I In describing my invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanying drawing wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the several views, and in which lFi re 1 is a sectional view taken approximatelyll on line 1-1 of Figure 2. ,y
Figure 2 is a top plan view of the device which forms the subject matter of the present invention. y v
Figure 3 is a perspective-view of the extinguishing tube.
4Figure 4 is a fragmentary sectional view showing the extinguishing tube in use'.
Referring to the drawing in detail, thereference numeral l indicates the-trayk of my device which-may be of any desired shape and size, but is shown as being provided with a Hat bottom and an outwardly inclined circular upright wall 2 that has formed therewith an annulartlange 3, the latter being dat so as to provide a substantial nger hold whereby the device can'be moved from place to place as will be apparent.
Secured to and rising centrally from the bottom is my extinguishing tube d that is reduced intermediate its ends to provide a re- 5@ stricted throat 5 and an outwardly dared mouth portion 6. The portion of the tube below the throat 5 is likewise outwardly dared .so as to provide a substantial supporting means for the tube with respect to the bottom te of the tray, and the lower portion is provided1 with diametrically arranged recesses 7 which are`used for the purpose ot removing ashes or the like which accumulate within the tube as will be noted upon inspection of Fi which likewise-shows the tube in use inextin uishing a cigarette.
rom the above description and disclosure of the drawing, it will be obvious that I have provided a smokers article in the form 85 of a tray and an extinguisher, and when use is made of the latter, as tor example as shown in Figure 4, the cigarette is moved gently E down into the throat to an extent whereby the throat completely surrounds and engages the burning end of the cigarette, with the re sult oxygen is cut 0H from the burning end, and naturally the fire is extinguished, without damaging the cigarette whatsoever,
therefore it can be relighted if desired, after .being removed from the tube. 0f course 'the same operationis performed with respect to, a
cigar.
What 'claim is: A smokers device comprxsina. tray, a. tube l secured to and risin from sai tray and being reduced interme 'ete its ends to provide a. restricted throatz an outwardly flared 5 mouth ortion for said' tube, and an outwardly are bottom ortion f or said tube and being provided wi diametrieally arranged ret cesses extending through the lower edge thereoi. 10 -In testimony whereof I aix m signature.
