' This invention relates to cigar lighters and has as an object to pro-vide an enclosure for protecting the user against possible burns and to also protect the pilot flame against being extinguishedby drafts.

Another object of this invention resides in the novel construction of the enclosing housing.

With the above and other objects in View which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the novel construction, combination and arrangement .of parts substantially as hereinafter described and more particularly defined by the Y appended claims, it being understood that such changes in the precise embodiment of the hereindisclosed invention may be made as come within the scope of the claims.

In the accompanying drawing are illustrated two complete examples of thephysical embodiment of the invention constructed according to the best modes so far devised for the practical application of the principles `.hood 12 is carried bythe tube 9 and is proi thereof, and in which Figure 1 is a side elevation of a cigar lighter constructed in accordance with this invention parts being broken away and in section to illustrate structural details.

Figure 2 is a developed view of one of supply line,l not shown, and a valve, not sho-wn, adapted to be actuated upon depression of a plunger 7 to afford communication from the inlet end to the outlet end 8 of the casing, to which a tube 9 is attached.

This invention contemplatesthe provision of aprotectin'g enclosure which not only prevents drafts from extinguishing the. pilot a'me, but also entirely encloses the main'fg flame during'use.
