My invention relates-to wrench set units, and the rincipal object of'my invention is topi-Ovidie? a wrenchset'assembled in la package 'in a manner convenient for `.merchandising. Irl-the "drawing `accompanying this specification. and forminga partl of this application' I, have shown', for purposes of illustration, one form which `my invention lmay assume', andi'n this drawing: y
1 isa topplanv'iew of the embodi mento my invention herein shown,
".Figure'lv is a 3 side elevation thereof,
'Figure 3 is a bottom pla-n view thereof, while i .y
=Figure4 is a section taken 'on the line 4-4 of Figure 2.' v Y v In the embodiment of my invention herein shown I ,have assembled six vfixed-size wrenches 11 each comprising a shank 12 terji204Ininatin`g a't'its ends in enlargements 13 con# taining recesses 14'folrmed to fitV nuts `of standard size and one .slightlyV larger than thef other to fit a nut of the vnextlarger size than that-fitted by the other.` 11n-addition' I 2.5i have selected thesesix wrenches v11 so that each isslightly larger than the preceding,
both larger 4in length oLt-he shank 12 and larger in size 'of the recesses 14, and I'have made the selectionvin Isuch 4vmanner'that the 31o small recess 14 of the second wrench 11 lits thenut of next larger size than that tted byithel'arge'recess 14 of the first wrench 11,V
and=sofon, sothatthetwelve. recesses 14 of the six wrenches 1'1 fit nutsof twelve consecustiv'e sizes. After assembling these six wrenches in thisv manner I secure them soassembled by means of -afpair of U-shaped straps llhaving their bases 16 disposed having their :sides 17 extending lup the two sidesof the sixwrenches 11 and crossing the' shank '12 of each `wrench lliadjacent the Junc- `i55j tion-ofthat shank 12 with the enlargements 13 of that Wrench 11 and. terminatnmadjai centthevedges o'-thetop'face ofthe. top
eneath' the bottom of V the loi largest-wrench 11 adjacent the junction `of its shank '12 with its twol enlargements 13,`
of the top wrench adjacent 'the lateral edges ofthis yshank 12 of this top wrench 11.
In theembodiment of luy-invention herein disclosed I have shown `the straps l5 and the strips 18 and 19 formed from a continuous piece of Wire y20 having its two ends welded at any convenient point, and I `find this construction of the-strapsl and strips 18 and 19 particularly advantageousin actual practice. l/Vith this' construction how-` Vever I prefer to maintain the bases 16 of the straps 15 spaced other than' bythe rigidityl of the connecting strips 18 and 19,V and` ac# cordingly with thisV construction I provide below7 the bottom face of the shank 12 of the` i l Vbottom wrench 11 a spacer s trip'2l hav-ing its ends eurle'dabout the `-base'sil'l of the' straps 15 to form enclosing loops `22 i'ixedly securing the bases 16 ofthe straps 15 to the spacer strip 21V thus rendering 'the spacer strip 21e`ectiveto hold the bases 16 of the straps 15 properly spaced independently of the rigidity of the' C` `JnnectingA strips 18.
and 19.
Itwill be obvious that withthisconstruction'the wrenches mayv be `removed and re- V placed from within the binder means mere-V 1y by springing apart the two sides of 'the binder means, that is by separating slightly the two sides V17 of each `of the straps 15,
and I regard this as a distinct advantage. 'At
so i
the'sa'me time'I alsov find itt-desirable to "pros vide some meansto prevent'the two sides of the binder means being operatedl accidentally, vand I find this particularly desirable when I; make the 4straps 1'5, and'the connectingv stripslS and v19-rom vthe single piece of wire 20 as herein sh own, and accordingly with this'. construction I provide on the connecting strip .y 19 a. rloop 23 having its ends 24 curled about .e the connecting strip 19V to pivot the loopm23 on the connecting stripv 19, and havingits closed end 25 positioned to be V releasably'fv sprung vover a hump 26 formed centrally lof the Connecting strip 18 thereby to hol'dthe binder means assembledabout the vwrenches 11 vholdingthefwrenches 11 'in a single unfi-l tary `packageuntil the closed end 25 ofthe" loop 23'is intentionally disengaged :froml thev hump 26 of the'connecting strip'18.: 1

Under these circumstances it will be clear that the embodiment of my invention herein shown and described accomplishes at least the principal object of my invention.
' At the same time it also will be understood l by those skilled in the art that 'the embodiment ofmy invention herein shownand described embodies advantages other than those specifically pointed out or suggested herein,
and alsoY that this embodimentr` of my in'venY tion may be variously changed and modiedf without departing from the spirit of` my invention or sacrificing the advantages thereof.I
Therefore it will be understood that vthe disclosure herein is illustrative only, and'tliat my invention is not limitedthereto.
