ALJ Inventor l k /f /f /f /f www a 29mm@ -v l J A llame y unirse FATE??? VCTOR C. RACNE, OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS LINOLEUM ACCESSORY VENDING UNIT Application filed July 31, 1930.
The present invention relates to a linoleum accessory vending unit and has for its prime object to provide a structure whereby linoleum binding and edging may be dispensed in a convenient and economical manyner with ease and accuracy.
Another very important object of the invention resides in the provision of a unit of this nature which is simple in'its construction, inexpensive to manufacture, thoroughly eilicient and reliable in use and otherwise well adapted to the purpose for which it is designed.
Vith the above and numerous other objects in View as will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in certain novel features of construction, and in the combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described and claimed.
In the drawings:
Figure 1 represents afront elevation of the apparatus embodying the features of my invention,
Figure 2 is a top plan view thereof,
Figure 3 is a vertical longitudinal section taken substantially on the line 3-3 of Figure 2, and
Figure 4 is a transverse section taken substantially on the line 4--4 of Figure 1.
Referring to the drawings in detail it will be seen that numeral 5 'denotes a table or counter top which in the present instance is supported on a frame 6 and legs 7. A drawer 8 is mounted in the frame 6. At one end of the table or counter lthere is a depending cabinet 9, the outer wall l0 of'which is hingedly mounted as indicated at 11 and suitable fastening means l2 is provided at the top thereof. Inside the cabinet are a plurality of partitions 14 forming a plurality of compartments. ln each compartment is a shaft 15 of suitable construction for receiving av reel or spool 16 on which is Wound tape or binding 17 which is threaded through slot 18 in Serial No. 472,070.
the top 5. The shaft can be removably supported in the compartment in any suitable manner such as by making the bearings on the ends of the shaft with removable portions as shown in dotted lines in Figures 3 and 4 with any suitable means for holding such removable portions to the other portions.
Longitudinally disposed on the top 5 is a measuring strip 19. rihus the tape or binding may be set out along the measuring Strip 19 so that the proper or desired amount may be readily cut off. Thus the tape and binding may be sold in an exceedingly accessible and convenient manner without wastage. 4
This unit keeps the rolls in a neat out of the way location but available for measuring as needed. The seam binding and edging is kept in the partitioned compartment or the cabinet and passed out through the slots. This arrangement allows the top of the unit to be used for display of such accessories as linoleum paste, linoleum varnish, floor Wax, etc.
The unit provides a compact arrangement for displaying and vending hard surface iloor covering accessories.
It is thought that the construction, operation, utility and advantages of the invention will now be quite apparent to those skilled in this art without a more detailed description thereof.
The present embodiment of the invention has been disclosed in considerable detail merely for the purposes of exemplitication since in actual practice it attains the features of advantage enumerated as desirable in the statement of the invention and the above description. It will be apparent that changes in the details of construction, and in the combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed, or sacrificingany of its advantages.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is:
A devicek of the class described comprising an elongated tablehaving a Jcransverse roW ofslots in its lop locatedadjacent onel end ofthe table, alongitudinally arranged measurng strip-o11 the table Vcopl arranged at l right angles to therow and in alinement with the central slotwth one end of the strip 1o-V cated adjacent said central slot, means nn-` derirthe table top for support-ing aplurality -ofstrps of material, which pass through the slots whereby any one o-'said strips of mai y terial maybe drawn ont over the table top alongside-of the measuring strip to be meas- V ured.
