IMPROVEMENT IN FENCES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 187,334, dated February 13, 1877 application filed August 1, 1876.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, JOHN W. WEBSTER, of Freeville, Tompkins county, New York, have invented Improvements in Fences, of which the following is a specification The object of my invention is an improvement in that class of fences in which the rails are secured to the posts by wire loops; my improvement consisting in constructing the 'fence to maintain the rails on both sides in close contact with the post, and to reduce the amount of wire required, as shown in the accompanying drawing, in which-- Figure 1 is a perspective view, showing two sections of my improved fence; Fig. 2, aplan view, partly in section 5 Fig. 3, a vertical transverse section, and Fig. at a modification.

boards B B, bearing directly against the posts between said openings, and there secured by means of endless wire loops 1), passing through both openings and on both sides of the post, around the outer faces of the rails, as specified.
